39 Hit the slopes with professional ski racer Tina Weirather Malbun child Up in the start house the pressure is huge. Tension fills the air. It is the moment of truth. Less than 90 seconds later I cross the finish line. The scoreboard flickers into life: first place! All the pressure falls away in an instant. I have achieved my dream! Looking back now, my passion for skiing started on the slopes of my local ski resort in Malbun. I remember keeping my ski boots on over lunch so I could get out onto the slopes as quickly as possible once I had finished eating. I was a Malbun child – I wished it could be winter forever. Even today when I speed down the steep Hoch eck slope or carve swooping turns on the pistes at Täli, I still feel this special connection to my Malbun.
