Amanda N. Stell, 31,
of 19541 S. 116th Ave.
in Mokena, was charged
Dec. 17 with leaving the
scene of a property damage
accident and having
no driver’s license on her
person.
According to police reports,
an officer was dispatched
to the 11200 block
of West Lincoln Highway
in response to a report of a
hit and run. Upon arrival,
the officer spoke with the
complainant, who told the
officer that her Kia Soul
had been hit from behind
by a grey Nissan Rogue.
The officer inspected the
Kia and observed damage
to the bumper and a “sizeable
hole” that appeared to
be fresh damage.
The complainant went
on to tell the officer that
following the accident she
asked Stell for her driver’s
license information, but
Stell said she did not have
it on her. The complainant
took a photo of Stell’s
license plate and suggested
that the two women
pull into a parking lot to
avoid being in traffic. At
this time, Stell reportedly
drove off without stopping
