Dear Councillor

Application No.

Solent Mills Solent Road Southampton

Application for prior approval for demolition of the Solent Flour Mill buildings

An application for prior notification for the above mentioned development has been submitted for

determination under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.

The demolition of non-listed buildings outside of a designated conservation area is ‘permitted

development’ under Part 11 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development)

Order 2015. This means that the demolition works can be undertaken without the need for planning

permission. Instead, the purpose of the application is to gain the Council’s approval for the method of

demolition works proposed. It also provides details of how the land will be left following demolition.

Your valid comments will be taken into account in determining the application and should be submitted

through the Public Access Webpage at the address above or to or (if

this is not possible) in written form with your name and full postal address, quoting the above

application number and send them to Development Management, Southampton City Council, Civic

Centre, Southampton, SO14 7LS by 12 February 2020.

If you have queries, you can call on the number above and ask to speak with the case officer.

Under the provisions of the Local Government (Access to Information Act) 1985, any written

comments that you submit will be made available for inspection and copying by the public.

Yours faithfully,

Jenna Turner

Senior Planning Officer (Projects)
