There’s a letter in the mail with detailed information as well as a proxy form. If you can’t
attend please send signed proxy with a neighbor that is attending. We must have 62 homes
present or by proxy in order to hold a formal meeting. There will be lots of information
discussed regarding our neighborhood.

Let’s keep the neighborhood looking nice. Please maintain regular mowing, maintenance
of yards and flowerbeds, mold removal from siding and keep your lot free of clutter. Please
also remember to remove your trash can for storage out of public view after trash collection.

As a reminder, the Association has a patrol contract
through Harris County Precinct 5 Constable. We
share 40 hours of patrol per week at random times
with Aberdeen Trail HOA. Please add the following

visible place at home in case you need support
in a non-life-threatening situation. Their nonemergency

you see vandalism or anything suspicious please
contact the dispatch number as well as Spectrum

BOARD APPROVES BOUNDARY
CHANGES FOR 2020-2021
The CFISD Board of Trustees approved the administration’s
recommendation for the establishment of attendance boundaries for
Rowe Middle School and rezoning modifications of multiple campus
attendance boundaries effective for the 2020-2021 school year during
the regularly scheduled meeting on December 16 th .
The approved boundary plan provides enrollment relief for Thornton and
Anthony middle schools for the 2020-2021 school year. Other impacted
campuses are Hopper and Kahla middle schools, Cypress Park and
Cypress Springs high schools and Hemmenway, Walker, Wilson and Tipps
elementary schools.
The boundary proposal allows Rowe Middle School, which will open
in August 2020, to open with sixth, seventh and eighth grades. The
proposal aligns feeder patterns while amending boundary lines for new
developments.
Per CFISD boundary transfer policies:
• Any middle school student affected by this boundary change who will
be in eighth grade for the 2020-2021 school year may remain at their
current middle school on a student transfer if their parents provide
transportation. This opportunity will not be available for younger siblings;
• Students who are affected by a high school boundary change who will
have an older sibling in 10 th , 11 th or 12 th grades attending the affected
high school may choose to transfer to their original high school rather
than attend the high school designated by the rezoning. The sibling
transfer will remain eligible for UIL varsity participation and they will be
allowed to remain until graduation and
• Any elementary school student affected by this boundary change who
will be in fifth grade for the 2020-2021 school year may remain at their
current elementary school on a student transfer if their parents provide
transportation. This opportunity will not be available for younger siblings.

BOY SCOUT TROOP 609
Boy Scout Troop 609 is a specialized for Boys with high functioning
Autism Spectrum Disorders. They meet at the Westview School on the 1 st
and 3 rd Saturday of the month from 9:30-11:30 AM.
BOY SCOUT TROOP 838
Troop 838 is a small pack located near Hwy 6 and West Road at the
Crossbridges Church. We are between the Copperfield and Aberdeen
neighborhoods. Being a smaller troop allows us to be flexible and address
the needs of our scouts more nimbly. We currently have boys from ages
11 to 17 within our group working to make Eagle.
We try to camp monthly, with a wide variety of locations on our agenda.
The different locations are chosen by the senior boys to more directly
meet our training needs and to keep expenses low. In fact, we have some
of the lowest expenses in the area.
Our adult leaders are all experienced with years of scouting under their
belt per individual. We also work closely with several local packs of cub
scouts and participate in civic duties around the area as well. Please

TROOP 1865
Troop 1865 runs a diverse program of outdoor and service activities,
with events selected by the scouts themselves. We meet Mondays at 6:30
PM, at the Copperfield HOA building on Willow River and Hwy 6, behind
Labay. We’ve gone backpacking through the National Forest, rappelling
off Enchanted Rock, Survival camping, boating, canoeing and anything
else the scouts can dream up. We do high-adventure camping at Philmont
and Seabase. Our advancement program has enabled scout to achieve
the coveted rank of Eagle Scout at 10 times the national average rate.
We see scouting as a practice run on adult life. Scouts learn about
leadership and teamwork through having to work together in the field.
We learn about responsibility through fund-raising activities that have
allowed the entire troop to pay for their own summer camp each year.
CUB SCOUT PACK 2
We are an active year round pack for Kindergarten-5 th grade that focuses
on life skills, teamwork, leadership and FUN! Cub Scout activities include
camping, fishing, pinewood derby, hiking and much more! During the
school year we meet on the 3 rd Monday of each month at 7 PM at Birkes

Area Counsel - Copperhead District which includes 23 Cub Scout Packs
(boys 5 to 10 years old), 13 Troops (boys from 11 to 18 years old) and 10
Venturing units (boys and girls from 14 to 21). Our Units typically meet
weekly.
Many of our units are supported by the local Elementary Schools
including: Birkes, Copeland, Duryea, Fiest, Hemmingway, Holmsley,
Horne, Jowell, Lowery, Metcalf, Owens, Postma, Robinson, Sheridan,
Tipps, Walker and Wilson.

BOY SCOUT TROOP 61
Young men between the ages of 11-18 are encouraged to visit Boy Scout
Troop 61 at 7 PM Wednesday nights at Peace Community Church, 5151
Addicks Satsuma Road, Houston, Texas, 77084. They will get a handson
experience of what Scouting has to offer and have the opportunity
to visit with the Scouts and their adult leaders to learn more about the
things the troop has done during meetings and activities.
Scouting activities include camping, fishing, archery, rifle/shotgun
shooting, hiking, first aid, wilderness survival, community service,
citizenship, swimming, leadership, white-water rafting and much more.
Troop 61 camps each month and has a group that goes to High Adventure
Camp and to Merit Badge Camps each summer.
Boy Scout Troop 61 meets from 7 to 8 PM every Wednesday in the Activity

JOIN US AT THE HOUSTON WING HANGER DANCE
If you want to have a really good time and support a really good cause,
mark your calendar for the Houston Wing Annual Hanger Dance, set for
Saturday, February 22 nd at the West Houston Airport (Hanger B-5). Dinner

Do you want your children to become lifelong servants of the Church?
Singing in a children’s choir is a great way to help that. The St. Elizabeth
Ann Seton Schola Cantorum is currently accepting children Grades 4-12
for its after-school choir program. The choir is responsible for enriching
the Mass on 10:30 on Sundays and rehearses every Wednesday from
3:45-5 PM. Unique in the area, the choir focuses on singing music from
the rich Catholic tradition, including chant and polyphony, as well as the
finest modern church music. Time is devoted to building the children’s
skills of music reading, vocal technique, thinking about the words and
the structure and meaning of the Mass. Service hours are available for

Goya’s World - February 22, 7:30 PM-Midnight, Hobby Center - Zilkha Hall,
800 Bagby. The turbulent environment of Spanish artist Francisco Goya takes
center stage in a multi-media program featuring lively instrumental and
vocal works by Francisco Courcelle, Fernando Sor, Vicente Garviso, plus one
of Luigi Boccherini’s beloved guitar quintets, all accompanied by projections
of Goya’s artwork. “Goya’s World: Reflexión y Revolución” is curated and
guest directed by Ars Lyrica guitarist and lutenist Richard Savino.
Houston’s 3 rd Annual Mardi Gras Parade/Trailride - February 23, The
Parade staging time will start at 11 AM and the Parade will start at 1 PM.
