e met in 2016. We dated.
WWe got engaged and
married in 2018.
But a love story is never
In 2014 my (Michelle’s) first
marriage ended. A few
years before that, Paul’s first
marriage had ended. We’d
each had time on our own to
heal from those hurts, but still
had our hang-ups in our new
relationship. In a year and a
half of dating we broke up a
But we decided we wanted our relationship to work so we chose to seek
guidance and counselling together. We learned about keeping stakes in
the ground and the need to be willing to lift them to be able to make our
relationship a “we, not me” situation. We had a combined year of preand
first year marital counselling. We did personality and compatibility
tests to learn more about ourselves, each other, and us together. We
read books. We had wise, Godly people speak into our lives and our
relationship. Years of hurt from the past don’t just dissipate when you
date a new person. We learned that. But more importantly we learned
that God is good. All the time!
God took each of us in our broken states and made us whole, then He
brought us together and showed us His love in our love story. We know
by what we experienced that our relationship would not be thriving
today if it wasn’t for Him.
We’ve joined the marriage ministry at FAC and through that we
ourselves are continuously being ministered to. We’re passionate about
seeing others’ relationships not just survive, but thrive – because we can
testify that in all things, God is bigger, He is stronger, and He is able to
transform your relationship just like He did ours.
