On this, the final day of Vinexpo Paris,
organisers are already concluding that the
show has been a resounding success. The
new partnership between Vinexpo Paris and
Wine Paris is set to place this event firmly
and squarely as the world’s leading wine and
spirits trade show.
Indeed, as spirits sales rise unabated, BE
SPIRITS by Vinexpo will, in the coming years,
create a spinoff: an entire new area (see page
7), based on the growing global interest of
the sector. Indeed, according to Statista,
global revenue in the spirits segment is
forecast to reach €419bn in 2020, and is
expected to grow annually by 3.2% through
2023.
The innovative 360° concept of Be Spirits
was tailored for all the actors of the spirits
and mixology industry, with bespoke
conferences and a bar – the INFINITE BAR
– where brands have been able to do daily
shows. To that end, in this edition, we take
a closer look at spirits, with new ideas for
cocktails (from page 9).
Other concepts introduced by Vinexpo are
set to grow as well in coming editions, such as
the World of Organic Wines, L’Avenue – and
the ever-successful Vinexpo Academy, with
its roundtable discussions and conferences.
The biggest sign of the success of the
show has been the fact that the language
of Shakespeare has been widely spoken
throughout the event – evidence that it is
already truly international.
