See <strong>and</strong> hear how Robert de Belleme,<br />

Earl of <strong>Arundel</strong>, trained his soldiers in<br />

siege of the castle in 1102.<br />

A Call to Arms<br />

It is the year 1216 <strong>and</strong> King John prepares<br />

to fight a rebellion or an invasion from<br />

France. <strong>Arundel</strong> Castle is now the scene<br />

for these preparations. A large tented<br />

encampment is the wonderful setting for<br />

demonstrations of armour, combat, archery<br />

<strong>and</strong> falconry. Crafts include making mail<br />

armour, leather working, scribing <strong>and</strong> cooking<br />

Plant Fair<br />

Within the grounds of <strong>Arundel</strong> Castle, over<br />

20 specialist nurseries will be exhibiting<br />

<strong>and</strong> selling a wide range of locally grown,<br />

good quality, interesting, <strong>and</strong> often unusual,<br />

plants, bulbs <strong>and</strong> shrubs.<br />
