Casting Repair &
Replacement System
We have developed an approach
to cas$ng repair and replacement
that is significantly quicker,
simpler and safer.
Safety challenges faced with
conven7onal methods:
• Manual handling
• Fa7gue
• Traffic management

We use innova$ve
equipment that cuts clean,
circular holes around the
exis$ng frame using a
circular cuEng arms.
No jackhammering and/or
conven7onal cuBng is required.
This is operated via a heavyduty
auger drive, featuring between 4
and 6 rota7ng blades.

Operated via a heavy-duty auger
drive, the blades rotate at high
speed, cuBng into the asphalt
surrounding the manhole frame
and cover.
The technology will also cure
reinforced concrete.

The en7re frame and the area
around it can then be liLed out of
the ground in one piece, leaving
only a clean incision behind in the
manhole surrounds.
This machinery can be operated
safely by a single person:
• reducing the number of people
required on site
• elimina7ng manual jack
Hammering
• elimina7ng conven7onal asphalt
and concrete cuBng
• reducing manual handling tasks
and greatly reducing physical
fa7gue
This creates a more manageable
and safer working environment.

Replace with pre-Cast rebate slab, frame and cover.
Significantly less 7me and effort is required to install.

Minimise traffic management
Reduce setup and pack up times

Asphalt products used are
trafficable straight away and
designed to be permanent.
This reduces the overall 7me
required for the workforce to be on
site, and so the poten7al risks of
working in traffic or built up urban
areas are diminished.
This also results in less disrup7on to
traffic flows which minimizes the
hazards to traffic and pedestrians, as
they are required to nego7ate a
worksite for a shorter period of 7me.

Future Developments

Manhole Risers
A new development that we
are introducing is a
manhole grade adjustment
system that further reduces
the manpower and $me
required on site to carry out
cas$ng replacement and
repairs.
It also reduces the 7me that normal
traffic flows need to be redirected,
minimising the hazards this
presents par7cularly in built up
areas and city centres.

Interlocking riser rings
manufactured from Expanded
Polypropylene (EPP) are used to
raise manhole frames to their final
eleva7on.
These rings are employed in place
of tradi7onal construc7on methods
and materials, and have excep7onal
durability.
The long opera7ng life reduces the
frequency of maintenance or
replacement
that is required.

In addi7on, the en7re process is
highly mechanised and so requires
less physical interven7on from the
workforce as well as less 7me on site.
As a result, both the overall process
and the worksite are made safer both
for workers and for other road users.
