WHY I CREATED THICKK
MAGAZINE
I can only speak from experience...the experience of a size 8 (sometimes 10/12) woman that her entire
30-something years on this earth, has been trained by society that the only way to be truly beautiful is
to be slim or underweight instead of simply "your best self".
The experience of reading hundreds upon hundreds of magazines over many years that featured
only size 0 - 4 models, saying that theirs was the only "beauty standard"..
The experience of being a 5-year certified modeling instructor at the modeling schools, training over
1,000 young females on how to truly be beautiful on the inside and outside.. and to at the same time,
know that the modeling industry represents petite models and size 14 +“plus size” models...then we
have the IG loving "Insta-famous" fitness & beauty models, the Glamour almost Porn Style
models...
THICKK SIZE 7
But where are the fit, sexy, HEALTHYmid-sized
models represented?
Where are my real women? Where are
my real "people"? Real art, real fashion,
and real culture?
Well, we have that here in THICKK
MAG. We are ready. We are the
"Queen Bees", honey!
We as women globally are constantly
told to lose weight to get much smaller.
If we are frustrated with our diets and
exercise habits, we may go up in size,
but usually, our weight does NOT
fluctuate to either extreme and if it
does, who cares? Curves are sexy!
THICKK IS IN!
Another point is that for some of us, as
women in the middle of these sizes,
well..we are lost in a size range that
judges us and SUITS no one, affecting
our self-esteem, other’s perceptions of
us as "doing something wrong or not
being good enough". We must break
that perception.
back in the
day..2012
Every woman IS the PERFECT WOMAN.
In these pages, we aim to inspire you to
be a WEIGHT RANGE not a SIZE.
But even more so...it is NOT ABOUT your
LOOKS..it is a Body-Happy Woman that
is EMPOWERED. Is that you?
The goal of THICKK Magazine is to
“CELEBRATE the "Modern Power
Woman Making Moves!”
Alongside some totally great..well,
FANTASTIC CONTENT.

Writing Confessions
Why I’ve never written about this relationship.
I had thrived off of my own romantic misfortune for eons. Goofy mishaps with strangers,
relationships that just didn’t work, and the like have really fueled my writing. I pulled from every
dark corner, every silly encounter, every bump in the road. But that all stopped when I entered this
one. I couldn’t find the words, I couldn’t find my voice,
I just couldn’t. At first, I thought it was a good thing, that I was happy and that’s why writing about
him, about us, was not happening. But as I reflect on the last year and a half, I have realized that
wasn’t the case at all. I don’t write about this relationship because being honest with myself
regarding him scares me shitless. Let me start with saying he isn’t a bad guy, but over the year (s)
I’ve realized we are just simply two totally different people whose compatibility is nonexistent.
Writing about us, meant writing me out of us, and that scared me. What I didn’t realize is that
through not writing about what was happening in the now, I stopped writing in general, thus feeling
eternally lost to the person that I have always known myself to be. Sometimes you encounter a
person, polar opposite of you, and the relationship works. There is enough give and take, and the
compromise exists on both sides. But sometimes it just doesn’t work out, and through trying and
trying you begin to lose your identity.
Honesty with yourself in any relationship is so important...It’s been almost two years, and I don’t feel
any closer to him than day one and I feel even further from myself. I’ve stopped recognizing the
human that stares back at me in the mirror.
Stopped doing the things I love because they don’t interest him. I’ve become one of those
girlfriends so desperate to keep it together that internally I lay in shattered pieces strewn about
this studio apartment I can't afford on my own. How do you tell someone they don’t feed your soul?
How do you tell someone that through them, you’ve allowed yourself to stop feeding your own soul?
I’m starving. Because when you stop listening to your needs, you stop taking care of you. You begin
to put everything they want in front of your own wants, and that my friends leaves you lonely. I feel
alone in my relationship.
The way we differ is both simple and unbelievably complicated. I live in a consistent oxymoron. I sit
and imagine all the different outcomes, all the different types of things the future could hold. I go
back to when this all started and I think about... “what if I just kept it as friends?” I mean, we started
this whole thing closer than ever and I sometimes think that it should have stayed platonic...

Rush Bowles was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Considered a "Futuristic Surrealist", he
has traveled around the world to study the arts and evolved his craft.
Rush was "Artist of the Year" for the Miami Dade Coastal Conservation Association and
was chosen by Miami Dade Transit as "1 of 10 artists to have their art on the back of Miami
Dade Buses" in partnership with Transit Loves the Arts in 2016. In 2017, Rush was named "1 of
the top 6 new emerging artist by the prestigious Wynwood Life Street Festival."
Says Rush, "Art became my religion by chance. Although I have always been creative since
a young child, I didn't become artistic until I nearly became blind due to a tumor that nearly
blinded me. During the time that Baskin Palmer Eye Institute diagnosed me with the tumor
till the day they released me in good health, I used my art work as self therapy to escape the
fear of permanent blindness. From that day forward, my art work and creating it, is who I
am..."

Confessions Writing
Chronic invisible illnesses. That is a thing. The problem with them being invisible, is they are extremely tricky
to diagnose. I am going to tell you what went through my mind the day I learned I am a Zebra in a field of
horses. But first, I'll tell you a very brief history, as I don't want the point of this to become about the the
"disease" but more about how the explanation helped me.
I had been struggling with health issues since I was 8 years old. Started out minor, stomach aches. They
progressed over the years. Symptoms like body aches, extreme exhaustion, and injuring myself way too
easily became noticable over the years. They came and went, along with the chronic nausea and stomach
problems.
I would go through "spells" you could say. I was sent to Mayo clinic for a week, and refused to go back for
6 weeks for "Pain management" because I knew there had to be an answer other than managing
symptoms. In 2015-2016 I contracted mono, battled MRSA 6 times, underwent gallbladder and appendix
surgery, as well as getting nerves in my back burned because I was told I have moderate arthritis in some
facet joins in my spine. This was all in a span of 8 months. BUT, and here's the good news. This ALL helped
lead me to the day that changed my life, oddly for the better.
Getting diagnosed with Ehler-Danlos Syndrome was surreal. Some people fall into a deep depression when
they get diagnosed with a chronic condition, which is understandable. Because if it can't be cured, what's the
point in trying? I, however, look back on that day is a day that will change me for the better.
I was numb when the doctor finally told me, after 12 years of not knowing and being told I was making it
up, I finally had answers. I didn't know what to think. I had hope and prayed that day that I would finally
get answers. But when I did, I felt so many emotions, it felt like I had none. After the shock wore off, there
was sadness.
I spent a few days in tears. But I made a deal with myself, I wouldn't look on the internet for too much
information because my body is my body, my story is my story. I soon too realized that this diagnosis
doesn't change much. This is not something I just got, this is something I've always had. Finally, this lead to
me making my own little "motto."
This isn't a disease, this is an explanation for what I'm feeling, explanation leads understanding,
understanding leads to acceptance, Acceptance leads to peace." This mindset truly made me realize that
this syndrome is as much a part of me as my finger or toe, but it is NOT me.
THICKK SIZE 29
Then healing took place when I
made peace. I started truly listening
to my body. I was careful who I
listened too, because I'm 1 in
10,000-15,000 and chances are
my body may not react to it the
same way as theirs.
I started working on one symptom
at a time and taking baby steps,
literally. It started by walking with
my cane to the end of the driveway
and back.
That was it. starting small, and
building my body up. I was
committed to finding a new normal.
A new, healthy, normal. It wasn't
easy, it still isn't.
The change that happened within
the last year still astonishes me, and
I am excited to see how far I will go
in the next I went from not being
able to walk up a flight of stairs, to
going up and down them 15 times a
day.
I lost 27% of my body weight (56lbs)
which I had originally gained from
being sick and on bedrest. I decided
to go back to school.
I was told my dreams of being a surgical technologist was not the best decision for me. So, I found
a new passion aside from a new subject in college I'm thrilled to be studying. I found my creative
side. Being stuck in bed so much, some days I physically was too exhausted to eat. But the days
where I felt better, I learned something new about myself.
I like to teach myself things, I taught myself how to do makeup, play a few songs on the Ukulele,
made some hats and customized beer mugs, because why not? Having that time to get to know ME
as a person, as this new person, was something I didn't think was possible....

SPIRIT FLOW
DO YOU BELIEVE WE HAVE A SOUL?
DOES IT LEAVE THE BODY UPON
DEATH? GOES WHERE?
"Well I had one near death
experience when I was 19. I felt that
all I had was my mind in a hollow
dark space, I could see my body and
I felt far away from it. I saw the
light. I know that sounds weird but I
really thought I was dying and my
conscious said that to myself "don't
die yet". A few hours later, I was
conscious. Maybe thats why I live
on the edge because life is short.
Life is precious. That's why it's good
to have a pure heart."
- Serena Ellis
"Absolutely! We're not robots, its what
makes us human. Each soul eloquently
made up and uniquely crafted. Death is
just an abrupt stop to what was. Our
earthly bodies give out...our spirits are
raised up."
"- Ruby Bergeron
"Yes we all have a soul. As soon as this body
cease to exist, the soul immediately
returns back to its creator. Everything that
is created, all have a creator. Death is
transition and is very much similar to sleep.
As soon as you close your eyes on this side.
You immediately open your eyes on the
other side. A very quick transition."
- Orrick Quick
"At 15, I had an out of body experience where i
heard a voice tell me that there was
"a god and i must follow him. " this was 3 days
after meditating and studying buddhism and not
experiencing anything. I had decided to be an
atheist and give up up further studies. next day I
I had this experience of body paralysis,
I forced my eyes open to see my teenage room

We don't "have" a soul, we are a soul. Our "physical", material selves are better
explained by quantum physics, who we are is more than meat, fat, bones and

after, I think the answer is no where, we have never left or arrived anywhere,
energy cannot be created or destroyed, we are where we shall always be, the

THE BEAUTY OF

with Iman Ali
There are seven major chakras along the spinal cord starting from the
base of the spine through the top of the head.
These wheels correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each
chakra contains bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our
psychological, emotional and spiritual state of being. Because everything
is in motion, it's essential that the seven main chakras stay open, aligned
and fluid. When there is a blockage energy can not flow.
Blocked or closed chakras cause many issues that if left imbalanced can
cause physical and psychological dis-ease. What Western or alopathic
medicine is now understanding is the integral connection between mind
body when it relates to disease, and there is not one that is not rooted in
some type of prolonged emotional or mental dis-stress.
Reiki is a deeply relaxing therapy that stimulates the human energy field
to encourage it's natural healing process. Reiki is a performed with light
touch or hands hovering slightly above the endocrine system. The
National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine at the
Natural Institute of health classifies Reiki as "biofield therapy or energy
medicine."
Due to the fast, dramatic results of Reiki, it is now performed on
individuals in nursing homes, hospice, spas, and hospitals throughout
the U.S.
THICKK SIZE 64
A 60-minute Reiki sessions is performed with the client fully dressed on a massage table.
There is no manipulation of muscle or tissues. The practitioners hands are either slightly
above or along the endocrine system, major organs, and charkas,on the front and back of
the body.
Warmth or tingling sensation can be generally felt by the client during session, along with
a deep sense of relaxation, calm and clarity of thought.
"What i love about Reiki is that it is gentle of both the client and the practitioner. There is
no back-wash of energy or transference of energy on the practitioner like with massage.
And Reiki is a great self care technique for therapists," said Iman.
As a Reiki Master Teacher, Iman is certified to teach Reiki 1,2 and Master Levels.
As a practitioner you can book a private session with her or see her at the following
locations, The Ruby Room in Wicker Park, Essence of Life in River West.
She also will be performing Reiki in clinical settings like Advocate Illinois Masonic Cancer
and Infusion Center as a part of The Urban Zen Integrative Therapy program, founding by
fashion icon Donna Karan. Urban Zen Integrative Therapy treats Pain, Anxiety, Nausea,
Insomnia, Constipation and Exhaustion using Reiki, Aromatherapy, Restorative Pose,

in the Flow! Getting
1. Recognize that your SPIRITUAL JOURNEY is your OWN JOURNEY.
It is all a PERCEPTUAL REALITY. What does that mean? That your
view of life is actually from your own VIEWPOINT and a VISUAL
CREATION. It all related to your upbringing, your beliefs, your past
and your inner knowing and voice! So worry about you! Don't judge
someone else's journey! They "see" things differently. Truths of
perception DO resonate though.
2. If you never attempted Yoga before, locate your closest local studio
and try a free class (they all do it), go for Beginner's Yoga like Vinyasa
(Slow Pace). Ashtanga is great too (more faster pace, and meditative).
Come early and sit in the back to calm your nerves! I first took yoga in
my art school at age 18, it was unique to take in theater class, and it
allowed me to then practice on and off for over 10 years! Really put a
standard to my body! Yoga will help your joints and bones age better, so
your body is more flexible. Starting now is better than never.
3. During one of my first meditative yoga classes at 17 years old, I fell
into a trance where I was able to touch my toes, and be more flexible
than usual. In sitting position, a WHITE FLOWER appeared before me,
of which I could "smell the taste of the flower" or "taste the smell", an
intermingling of senses past humanness, and basically felt a spiritual
awakening with this unknown imagery. I left the studio feeling an
incredible light aura around me. Strangers noticed it and smiled at
me. It wasn't until later that I realized the white flower was...THE
LOTUS which is an incredible symbol across cultures in Buddhism,
Egyptian cultures etc. of a "Spiritual Rebirth." This experience was one
of many.
4. Try a CHAKRA cleansing, my favorite tool is Deepak Chopra's
Chakra Cleansing CD. Its on Youtube for free! I didn't believe we had
chakras nor know what they were! until I listened and FELT them

WHAT IS THE FUTURE GOING TO BE
LIKE IN 5 or 10 YEARS? IN DATING,
TECH AND CAREER?
"Statistics show that marriages are
taking longer to happen in a couple,
but it is more a serious, no-divorce
decision and partnership. This is
healthy considering how toxic
relationships equally have become
with the dating apps, which are
slowly being seen as tacky. But
then we have potential sex robots
coming out within 10 years, and
then we have virtual dating. If we
awaken as expected, then dating
should be more truthful and heart
centered. We will have driverless
cars within 5 years. Uber is gone or
replaced with driverless feature.
Sadly, robots taking most of the
jobs, so alot of the human jobs will
be digital, virtual, educational.
People to People interaction will be
worth more and cost more."
- Xa'Vonni
""Tech- higher rate of data transfer will definitely
create an interfacing system that's implanted
internally so no need for phones or personal
computers.
Dating will be virtual and a lot done through VR
including sexuality though people will still prefer
the old fashioned way ha ha
Work will be done primarily from home office as
tech increases there will be no need for meetings
or conferences. Also a lot of international
meetings done over VR platforms." - Alexander
Gersch

unconscious predispositions, emotions, and how you behave
in relationships. For example, Moon in Libra natives desires
harmony, peace, and safety in their relations. Their strong
need for balance often leads them to appease people too
quickly. With the airy quality of Libra, sometimes they tend to
rationalize emotions inadvertently. Direct emotions simply
confuse them, unlike Moon in Taurus natives for example. As
we keep opening different doors, we find even more mysteries
to your personality unveiled.
Your Mercury sign encompasses anything to deal with
communication, how you make sense of the world, and logical

(earth).
Your Mercury sign encompasses anything to deal with
communication, how you make sense of the world, and logical
reasoning qualities. Mercury is ruled by Gemini (air) and Virgo
(earth).
This gives us clues into how Water signs behave in Mercury. For
example, Mercury in Scorpio (water) natives are the most
intense speakers. They tend to “sting” you with their uncanning
ability to debate topics. In fact, Mercury in Scorpio
natives is almost always national leaders or heads of states.
In contrast, Mercury in Leo natives speaks with passion and vigor.
They do have much authority when they speak, but you will find
them speaking with pure passion. They are the best storytellers
of all the signs. They may lack in detail, but nonetheless, you will
be genuinely entertained in their communications as they see the
bigger picture. While Mercury aids in the way you communicate,
Venus uncovers your love.
Let’s talk about LOVE! Venus is the Queen of love and beauty. Not
just the physical beauty, but Venus gives clues into your artistic
tastes and your social relations. What are your values? How do
you love your partner?
For example, Venus in Cancer natives craves safety in a
committed partnership. They are the most sensitive and intuitive
lovers. They have strong values to their family and home. They
may come off a tad dry to a Venus in Leo native who desires
gregarious affection. Their love for you is shown through their
utmost devotion and caring nature towards you.
Mars is related to action, impulses, and our temperament. Mars
holds pure energy, unlike creative or intellectual predispositions
like Venus or Mercury. Mars in Taurus natives, for example,
demonstrate stable goal-setting. They have refined tempers–you
will rarely set them off easily like Mars in Aries natives.

These fascinating and complex dynamics are found in each individual’s personalized Natal Chart. You can unlock

stars. Many unanswered questions can be answered through Astrology.

1. Who are you as an artist? What is your story?
I'm the Founder & CEO of RAW: natural born artists. RAW is an independent arts organization based in
downtown Los Angeles, that operates in 70 cities around the globe. We're the largest independent arts
organization in the world.
RAW was born in 2009 with a mission to provide tools, resources, education and exposure for artists that
are just beginning in their creative journey. We do this both online and offline through a robust web
platform and our signature showcase events, respectively.
Our showcases take place on a quarterly basis and feature 50-60 local artists from their specific
community in 10 different creative categories (film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art,
beauty, accessories, photography, craft & tech).
THICKK SIZE 126
2. Who are some of your favorite artists and
influences?
It sounds cliché but I really am inspired by
almost everything. I think inspiration
strikes at the most unpredictable times by
the most unpredictable things/people/places.
I would say, I'm heavily influenced by music
of all genres, travel, philosophy and cities.
Cities really energize me with creative
energy. Randomly, I also get really inspired
in airports. Ha!
3. What makes your art worth it? To the
world? To your fans?
I think what I do daily has and continues to
make a difference to the creative community
at large.
It certainly hasn't been easy busting through
barriers of "how the art world should work",
or being ahead of our time with a
crowdfunding model, but it has certainly been
worth it.
I get emails daily from artists all over the
world thanking our team and me for the
opportunity to be seen and heard.
ARTIST: BRYAN BRUNO
These are nice reminders that pushing through
the challenges, while uncomfortable at times,
makes an impact to so many others.
4. What is the future of your art and the
arts/entertainment industry?
I think the future of art is even more
democratized. There has never been a better
time in history to be an independent artist.
C I T Y L I F E \ \ A S H T R A Y N U T Z
Every resource one needs to succeed in their
creative field is a click away. I think we'll
see a merge between art and technology that
is unprecedented. THICKK SIZE 126
5. What’s your Poison?
I think "poison" for any creative comes from three
main things:
- Comparing yourself to others
- Being complacent in your skillset/education
- Not taking risks
While I've personally been guilty of all of these
things from time to time, I make a concerted effort
to not let any of them become a detriment. Being
self-aware is half the battle.
6. How is your ART “your Religion”?
I have worked on and for RAW for almost a decade.
Most everything I do is for or because of the
organization. I would say that is indeed a religion!
Ha! Ultimately, I want to see RAW as a platform,
community and industry standard be the best it can
possibly be.
- Hard work
- Persistence, persistence, persistence
- More hard work
The only guaranteed return on investment I've ever
seen (whether it be in my own life or in other
success stories) is hard work. It's the only way to
achieve anything.
9. What is your favorite inspirational philosophy in
life?
"Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional". -
Haruki Murakami
10. Where do you see your career going in five
years? 10 years? Next year? Next month?
I'd like to see RAW on every continent being able to
expose new cultures and communities of artists
everywhere.
7. What is the message of your art?
I think RAW is a bit of a rebel in the art world
(without the negative connotation). We don't really
subscribe to the rules of how things...
should or shouldn't work. We've carved our own path,
independently without any investment, large source of
funding, giant corporate sponsors, etc. Much like our
artists, we're independent through and through.
I think if there is one message we send, it's that
you can do it your own way with a lot of elbow grease
and care.
8. What do you really think it takes to make it? Tell
us 3 keys...
11. Legacy: At the end of the day, how do you
want your fans to remember you and your art?
I want RAW to be a warm home for independent
artists.
Somewhere they can go to get nourished with
everything they need.
I want artists to regard us as a community they
can both participate in and give back to.
I want us to continue to help launch careers,
realize dreams and ensure creativity is incubated
everywhere, because I personally believe creativity
can, does and will always be the biggest instrument
for change in our world.

When I was a child, my big requests every Christmas
were crayons, colored pencils and blank drawing pads.
I had the mind of an artist even back then. For me, seeing
the endless colors all displayed like rainbow-hued candy
inspired my young creative mind and helped me express
myself as I drew the world around me.
With each passing year, I experimented with different
forms of art while observing the world’s interaction with
the creative part of society, not really sure where it
would all lead.
My love for the arts started with drawing, then moved
unto devouring hundreds of books, soon enough a
fascination for writing grew within me. My interest then
turned to poetry, which led me to create over 80 poems
in my teens.
Finally, when I was 16 years old, I became obsessed with
acting and theater of which I truly fell in love and felt
creatively free. I received classical acting training
through various scholarships and by combo of fate &
luck, entered an arts conservatory junior
year..eventually that led to teaching and leading others
within the arts.
Ultimately, what truly inspired me was the psychology of
an artist, their contributions to society and also the
business side of the industry. Since 2012, I chose to give
back to the artistic community as a thought leade,
content creator and life/business coach, in a niche I was
once part of and knew so well.
In 2019, I feel higher levels of understanding on my
creative purpose and a culmination of sorts through this
publication, which connects all my creative projects . I am
truly living “inspired.”That is what art does to the honest,
brave and self-aware person. It allows people to reach
into the innermost core of who they are as creative
beings. I use that to DESIGN, this time with the WORLD.
At your most deepest core, you are a creative being
because you were created by an introspective universe
that wanted to explore the meaning of the world through
you. So live a LIFE in FLIGHT & explore!

Top Coaching Tips for....
Xa'Vonni's
Cities Moving
1. Spend at least 6 months researching your intended city, from
neighborhoods, to top spots, To the subway routes, to crime stats, to
employment opportunities, to referrals from friends of people to
connect with...never go in blind on a move.
2. I have lived in Boston, NYC (3 years), Miami (3 years) and now
Chicago (1 year) on my own, barely knowing anyone in the last 3 cities,
but within the first year, hosting my own networking events, quickly
knowing many creatives and becoming recognized in the community
for my work. You don't have to know anyone to make it in the city. It
can! be a fresh start, but you have to be incredibly outgoing and street
smart.
3. You don't need an incredible amount of $ moolah! to move, the least I
have had was $2k. I recommend an average minimum of $5k for a
good move (without guts or glory!) You simply need to move to
SUBLEASE for your first 3 months to settle into a good job (or 5),
check out the neighborhoods, go running around to events to make
friends, and to snag some online dates.
4. (Yes, online date IF SINGLE, it is your RESEARCH, let your
potential friend tell you ALL about THEIR CITY's hot spots (plus you
save money sightseeing). The ego boost as they brag about the
greatness of their city will be EXTREME.
5. Join meetup.com to meet people fast! In NYC I even created my own
group and soon had a 330 member group of creative for my new life
coaching business.
6. 3 Months before the move, apply for JOBS like crazy. Best sites for
speed of application are LINKEDIN and Craigslist.
7. SHIP your items via the POST OFFICE, they do pick it up. I moved to
Chicago with 4 LARGE BOXES, weight 120 lbs, cost = $ less than $400.
Sell all you can on offer and CL.

Why Do You Make This Type of Art?
It all started with this one moment when I realized that “society” does not fit me.
During my early years as an artist, maintaining my artistic values and originality was the single most
challenging task in a city like Mumbai. This situation pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I spent many
years traveling and interacting with the natural beauty in and around India, looking for an environment that
would be conducive for creating. In the process, I was able to communicate with natural shapes, new textures,
beautiful colors and hues, that I couldn’t even think of recreating on paper, and yet, sadly the urgency to keep
the environment clean was unfolding at every step in my journey. After years of interacting with and
photographing different elements on land, I found myself speechless when I experienced the Indian ocean
through my lens.
The yellow sun piercing through the dense blue Maldivian waters, the sound of my breath rising to the surface
in the form of shiny silver bubbles, the slight crackling sound of the reef and the vast blue canvas to empty the
mind, was an inspiring experience. No element had ever woken up all my five senses, in such a seamless
fashion.
It was the perfect environment to plant the seed for my desire, to create more value through my art. In the
search for creating more awareness of the artist within myself, in 2009 I graduated from the Brooks Institute of
photography in Santa Barbara, with a bachelors in, industrial/scientific photography. In 2012, I quit my
commercial photography job in New York and dedicated five years of my life to studying and capturing the
wonders of our oceans and its inhabitants in the Indian ocean.

Have you won any awards in your field? In which galleries have you exhibited your work?
In addition to being published in online and in several Magazines, I have also won international photography awards like IPA, TIFA,
LICC, in the the field of Architectural , Underwater and fine art photography. I have self published two books on itunes and I am
currently exhibiting at the Monteserrat Contemporary art gallery in New York.
What Does Your Artwork Represent?
The urgency to create awareness about the coexistence of the symbiotic relationship between humans and our natural environment
is the base coat for all my artwork. Along with photography exhibits, I also create digital artworks and art edutainment products like
apps and ebooks, in the hope to inspire the younger generation, to help build awareness about the benefits of a cleaner environment.
How Do You Make It?
Creating images underwater is very different from taking a photograph on land. The mind has to multitask with diving meters and
camera gear, while also focusing on being suspended in water. Due to surge and currents, many times one is required to use a hook to
help stay put in one place. Shooting underwater can be challenging, but the key to making good images is “patience.”
I wait for a certain level of interaction before I select my subject. Each species has its own home and language, and only a few like to
interact. Understanding the species and their different languages take time and practice, but once there is some friendly energy
around the selected location, I begin composing. In a sixty minute dive, on a calm day, I would probably hope for five good images.
This slow and interactive process of creating itself is the message “ let's take time to understand the ocean in our unique way because
we need it as much as it needs us.”
What Does Your Art Mean to You?
Every human being is an artist, and every artist is on their own time.” Gauri Chopra
The art of following your hearth is not an easy route. To achieve this one has to be aware of the coexistence of “possibility” in every
situation. As an artist living in society has not been easy and breaking the mold of sociological constructs, and fighting to be on my
own time, has been a very intense but highly educative experience. My art is an expression of the transformation of the struggles and
victories, that elevated my perspective and helped me find myself, during my journey over the years.

What does it take to be a naturally curvy you? I
truly believe all women are beautiful regardless of
their shape!
Slim, bigger, biggest, it is all beautiful and
something to behold, but only in a good balance
with health, ladies!. You can be as thin as you like,
but if you are not eating fruits and vegetables, or
under-eating, partying etc. you are wrecking your
health!
If you have paid for enhancements and plastic
surgery, looking "perfect" on the outside, but doing
drugs that wreck your system, that is not
BEAUTIFUL nor healthy!
Beauty is a balance between the body, mind and
spirit and an acceptance of being 1. Grateful you
are Alive 2. Striving for your Best and 3. KNOWING
your potential.
It is ALL a JOURNEY. Every woman is on a journey
to her ULTIMATE self. Her GODDESS state. If she
is ALREADY there, she may be an INFLUENCER.
But remember ladies, be a weight range! Exercise
daily, it is your LIFE TAX. Eat to celebrate but
HONOR your bodies! Celebrate your youth! Our
Femininity is a blessing. Remember that!

Look into the mirror and tell me what you see.
Why can’t you be happy?
Look, into the mirror and tell me what you see.
The reflection in your eyes tell me, you can only see your flaws.
You point them out as if it’s a contest, and you must win them all.
I see the way you look at yourself, as you hate every inch of your body each day.
I see you grabbing your thighs, as you poison your mind with disgust, about yourself.
I can hear you telling yourself, that a skinny jean is your worst nightmare, as your
thighs will have them bursting at their seam.
I can hear you aloud, you can’t see me, but I can see you. Why can’t you be happy?
Look, into the mirror and tell me what you see.
Tugging at your skin and pulling at your belly, in hope that you’ll see another rib
appear. Disappointed you become, because you’re the same as yesterday.
You questioned yourself,
what’s happening?
You’ve avoided food as much as you can, and the little that you ate, came back up
with the force of your hand.
Why can’t you be happy?
Look, into the mirror and tell me what you see.
I hear you aloud, thinking to yourself;
Should I skip dessert?
Should I put the muffin down?
All the other girls are done, but here I am for another round.
Disappointed you become, because you’re not the same as yesterday.
You’ve become horrified by the sight of the scale. You tell yourself, nothing looks
good.
Why can’t you be happy?

their green cards based on their extraordinary ability
in the arts. My own artistic background in film, TV,
and theatre gives me a unique perspective and assists
me in understanding the artists that I represent.
"What shaped your career and artistic path?"
I have always been very active in the arts. For 10 years
I studied and performed musical theatre in NYC
before expanding into TV and documentary
filmmaking. I worked in production at MTV, and The
Style Network and produced and directed two
documentary films which were screened in Austin, TX
and NYC. After working behind the scenes, I attended
Lewis and Clark Law School, a nationally ranked, toptier
law school, and I knew that I wanted to work as a
lawyer in an international capacity.
Given my strong background in the arts, I knew that I
wanted to work with artists and support their work in
a meaningful and life-changing way. I chose to
specialize my practice in the entertainment industry
because I simply love art.

By representing international, in my way,
I am enriching the cultural and artistic
landscape of the US.
"Tell me about your art."
I develop my clients’ portfolios and represent
them against USCIS to prove their
extraordinary ability and the level of
distinction they have reached in their field.
Being a lawyer is not strictly an art form, but
there is definitely an art to architecting a
petition.
My job is t translate their artistry and their
artistic achievements in a meaningful way so
that USCIS will be compelled to approve
them. Just as my artist clients tell stories with
their artworks, my job as their lawyer is not
only to tell their story, but to zealously
advocate for them so they can continue their
artistic narrative in the US.
Creative analysis is a tool that I use daily as
an attorney representing artists. I’m in a
unique position, because I understand and
have direct experience with the creative
process, therefore I can extrapolate the
meaning and importance of my clients’
artworks.
My artistic background allows me to
strategically craft a strong petition to USCIS
to secure the O-1 artist visa and Green Cards
for clients. It’s exciting and rewarding to
represent artists and to utilize my problem
solving and creative analysis skills.
"What are some previous clients you have
worked with?"
I’ve worked with performers, singers,
dancers, jewelry designers, textile designers,
fashion designers, scenic, graphic, chefs,
visual artists, writers, PR professionals, and
producers!
My client base consists of a large crosssection
of professionals in the arts that has
continued to expand.
I have worked with artists from South Korea,
Germany, Italy, France, China, Hong Kong,
Thailand, Canada, Japan, Brazil, and many
other countries.
"What is the future of the arts industry and
why do artists need a lawyer more than
ever?"
The future of the arts industry is more artists
being empowered to have creative control
over their livelihood, and more international
artists infusing their traditions from their
cultural origins into the U.S. arts industry.
Now more than ever, artists need to protect
their art and their livelihood and lawyers
such as myself help to make their security
into a reality.

out! Cashing
1. I believe there is material wealth, and there is SPIRITUAL wealth
that exists in the spiritual plane. What does that mean? I think if you
are working hard, doing good things, you are due for a CASH OUT
one day from your efforts. You can either get small amounts of
money over years or you can work hard and get a HUGE jackpot one
day, it varies. Believe in your dreams and just KEEP WORKING
HARD. ALSO DON'T FEAR MONEY OR IT'S LACK EVER.
2. Read ALOT of self-help books about money, the millionaire
lifestyle and wealth. The first such book I read at 19 was "Think and
Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill and it is still my favorite book. It
completely transformed my mindset from inner city gal who was
highly intelligent but lost, to a go-getting BA then Master's educated,
then Master-Certified Life Coach/Businesswoman Extraordinaire!
This book is a must for all people. But don't stop there, read "Rich
Dad, Poor Dad", the "48 Laws of Power" and read sales books!
All of that will greatly help your "wealth mindset."
3. Also read ALOT in general, learn and study. Most millionaires read
an average 52 books a year, the average person barely reads 1-2. Think
about it.
4. SAVE ALL YOUR MONEY, especially if you are an entrepreneur.
Be frugal, go for deals, learn to negotiate better, get Wikibuy on your
internet browser, shop for sale, I can go on and on. Believe in Law of
Attraction. More than half of Americans don't even have more than
$1k in savings. Be careful! SAVE ALL your money, THEN spend.
5. Always negotiate for a better deal, or better rate, or even do trades
or barter. You don't get what you don't ask for.
6. Charge YOUR WORTH when you HAVE WORTH but be humble!

...means "Fortune Favors The Brave"! Are you going after your dreams with
persistence and smart strategizing? Building alliances & a strong team? Pulling
together proper systems, resources and organizing it all with great software?
The Life of an Entrepreneur demands all of this..over a LONG PERIOD of
TIME, with as much FAITH and CONFIDENCE in your plans as much at the
DREAM state as the Launch state. What you need to make it is to be
FEARLESS. To be RELENTLESS. To be PERSISTENT.
