Fibrous Casings should be soaked for at least 25-30<br />
minutes in warm water (80-100°F). Lay casings in water flat<br />
and submerge completely, tied end lower so that trapped air<br />
can escape. After soaking, squeeze excess water out of<br />
casings and then they are ready to stuff.<br />

NATURAL CASINGS<br />
<strong>PS</strong> <strong>Seasoning</strong>’s natural casings are only of the highest quality. So when you bite into your<br />
finished sausage, they have that distinctive “snap” that everyone loves.<br />
RECOMMENDED CASING PREPARATION:<br />
While it is not necessary, soaking the casings overnight helps immensely. The casings<br />
are then ready to be stuffed. The temperature of the water should be 95˚- 100˚F for all<br />
casings, regardless of the make-up (salted, preflushed, or tubed).<br />
Preflushed: Should be rinsed of salt and brine before soaking, just like the salted and<br />
tubed casings.<br />
Tubed: After rinsing off the salt, we recommend soaking them overnight if possible in the<br />
cooler or room temperature water and then place in 95˚-100˚F water for the 1 or 2 hours<br />
before stuffing.<br />
