Corona Virus (now renamed Covid-19)

has been a trending topic since the end

of January this year. We watched with

horror, how quickly it spread in China

and how many people were affected.

We watched how China’s economy

slowed down in the following weeks

and we sincerely hoped the virus would

disappear soon.

Unfortunately, we were shaken by the

sudden news of the surge of confirmed

cases and death tolls in South Korea,

Iran and Italy. We sadly learned that

some world famous politicians and

celebrities also contracted the virus.

While we wish everyone well, we have to

be prepared that now it is affecting our

school life in Cirebon.

The school has taken many steps and

created several procedures since the

first outbreak in China. Our families has

received several notifications regarding

the change in procedures of coming to

school after being sick, after travelling

and for just being absent.

Now, the school has to stop face to

face teaching, and quickly changes to

other platforms while making sure that

students are engaged and progressed as

they should with face to face teaching.

It is a big task for us, and I am sure it is

also a big task for parents to keep their

children home, learning and healthy

during the home based learning.

With all these inconveniences and

uncertainties, I would like to encourage

all of us to remain calm, remain grateful

and do not forget to comfort each other.

This issue is filled with many school

activities that luckily could still be held

in February and beginning of March. Our

students were also able to participate

and won in several competitions.

Although 3 teacher trainings and

conferences were cancelled in March

and April, there were two reports of the

trainings our teachers attended earlier.

Reading this issue reminds me that life

will get back to normal, we will come out

stronger. I hope you will, too!
