Letters to the Editor provide
a useful way of communicating
concerns, issues, or suggestions to
all members of the community.
The Town Common encourages
all citizens to submit letters
concerning issues of interest and
concern to the local community.
Letters selected for publication
may be edited for length and clarity.
Some letters may serve as a catalyst
for other articles or coverage, and
community leaders and agencies
will be offered an opportunity to
respond to letters concerning their
areas of responsibility.
All letters must be signed and
include a daytime telephone
number.

Rowley community announcements
Town Offices are closed to the public until further notice. Please email
or call the department that you are trying to reach for assistance.
Town Meeting has been postponed until Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at
7:00 p.m. in the All Purpose Room at Pine Grove School.
All programs, events and activities at the Rowley Council on Aging are
cancelled.The weekly grocery shopping on Wednesday and the NEET drives
for scheduled and necessary medical appointments will continue until further
notice. Senior Center staff will be available for questions and issues via
phone during normal hours. The Town's website is www.townofrowley.net.
Essex community announcements
Essex Police Fire and medics may be wearing additional protective
equipment when responding to calls and their interactions with the public
will be different, out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of
first responders.
If emergency fire or medical services are needed, residents should inform
the 911 dispatcher if they or anyone they have been in contact with
is experiencing signs and symptoms consistent with the COVID-19 virus.
The dispatcher should also be alerted if individuals or anyone they
live with or have come in contact with have been required to self-quarantine.
All facilities, public buildings, parks and playgrounds are closed to the
public, including Town Hall, Library, as well as all schools.
Essential staff continue to work. Residents should plan to conduct
their business with the town either by email or over the phone. The
Town's website is essexma.org.

Newbury Update to Municipal Facilities Closure
Municipal facilities are closed to the public through Friday, May 1st.
Officials are also asking that all public meetings be cancelled, postponed, or
continued during this time frame.
Some online payment options; including purchasing dog licenses,
parking permits, paying real estate, personal property, boat and motor
vehicle excise taxes and parking tickets. Building and Waterway Permits
may also be obtained online, and town employees will still be available
via email and telephone. The Town's website is https://www.townofnewbury.org.
