PALABRA CLAVE
Urbi et Orbi blessing. Pope:
"Prayer is our winning weapon"
NOMBRE DEL AUTOR MIREIA BONILLA
– CIUDAD DEL VATICANO
Pope Francis raises his
plea to the Lord and
asks us to trust him and
respond to his call to
"convert." He also asks
us to follow the
example of the
currently forgotten
people who are at the
helm of the boat in
these moments of
health crisis due to the
pandemic. .
The Pontiff has also raised a
supplication in these moments of
trial: "while we are in rough seas,
we beg you:" Wake up, Lord "".
The Pope assures us that we have
advanced quickly, feeling strong
and capable of everything and
greedy for profit - he says - "we
have allowed ourselves to be
absorbed by the material and upset
by the rush". It is at this time that
the Pope, addressing the Lord,
assures that "we have not stopped
at his calls", nor "we have
awakened to wars and injustices of
the world" or "we have heard the
cry of the poor and of our planet
seriously ill ”. In fact, he says, "we
have remained unflappable,
thinking of always staying healthy
in a sick world."
The Pope also asks us to direct our
gaze to so many traveling
companions who are exemplary,
because "in the face of fear," he
says, "they have reacted by giving
their own lives." The Pope refers to
the generous delivery of ordinary
people "currently forgotten" who
do not appear "on the covers of
newspapers and magazines, or on
the main catwalks of the last show"
but, without a doubt, "are writing
the decisive events today of our
history: doctors, nurses and nurses,
those in charge of replenishing
products in supermarkets, cleaners,
caregivers, transporters, security
forces, volunteers, priests, religious
and so many, but many others who
understood that no one saves
himself ”.
At the end of his reflection,
the Pope asked the Lord to
bless "the world", health
"the bodies" and comfort
"the hearts". "You ask us not
to be afraid, but our faith is
weak, and we are afraid," he
concluded.
