Amazon will now offer its cashierless store<br />
technology, called “Just Walk Out,” to other<br />
retailers. The technology uses a combination<br />
of cameras, sensors, computer vision techniques<br />
and deep learning to allow customers<br />
to shop, then leave the store without waiting in<br />
line to pay. This is the same technology that<br />
powers the Amazon Go cashierless convenience<br />
stores and the newly launched Amazon<br />
Go Grocery store in Seattle.<br />
A breathing aid that can help keep coronavirus<br />
patients out of intensive care has been<br />
created in under a week. University College<br />
London engineers worked with clinicians at<br />
UCLH and Mercedes Formula One to build<br />
the device, which delivers oxygen to the<br />
lungs without needing a ventilator. If trials go<br />
well, up to 1,000 of the CPAP machines can<br />
be produced per day by Mercedes-AMG-<br />
HPP, beginning in a week’s time.<br />

Repsol has added an 860MW wind complex<br />
in northern Spain to its development portfolio,<br />
in effect turning the Spanish oil & gas<br />
company into a major wind developer.<br />
Total is investing $4 million to supply half of<br />
its filling stations in Zimbabwe from small<br />
solar power plants. The project will enable the<br />
oil company to become more independent<br />
