INTRODUCTION

Welcome to our fifth issue of EPM

Showcars Magazine!

My Partner Yvonne and I are so pleased

at how well our issues have done this year

and are very excited about this lastest issue.

We would like to thank all of the

wonderful car owners, models, advertisers,

in helping us to create this publication.

OLDS 442

Interview

Car owner: Doug Hauser

Car: 1968 Olds 442 convertible

Model: Megan Julian

This photoshoot was done at Wyandotte County Lake in Kansas.

We really enjoy doing photoshoots at this location because of all of the beautiful places

that we are able to capture such amazing photos. Sometimes it is a true task because

of the shadows and the lighting, but that challenge always seems to work for the cars

that we shoot. Doug Hauser is the owner of this badass 1968 Olds 442 convertible. Doug

purchased this awesome ride back in 2007. He bought this car sight unseen and had

it shipped to KC out of New Hampshire. The Olds 442 is a Washington State car, hench

no rust. This Olds 442 is a second owner car and has 106,000 original miles on it. When

Doug first drove the Olds 442 he ended up blowing up the engine on HWY I435. Doug was

very upset that this had happened. He decided to store the Olds 442 in his warehouse,

which ended up being there for about 6 years. After the Olds 442 was stored for that 6

years in his warehouse, Doug stated when the engine blew up that chuncks of piston

metal scored the engine block, requiring it to be bored, sleeved and fitted with original

pistons. This type of pistons are very hard to find but Doug found some that were a year

old and bought them for the engine rebuild. The engine has approximately 500 miles on

the motor since the rebuild. The color of this badass Olds 442 is called, Plum Iris Metallic,

it is a 1967 color but with more Purple. Doug has this Olds 442 convertable for sale

through his business - KCClassicCars.us. This 1968 model stayed in production until

1972. This era was the Pinnacle of the muscle car movement, which mated high performance

to compact lighter cars. Pontiac was the first company of the GM to offer fullsize

muscle cars in it’s mid-size Cutlass model.

Q: What gratification do you get show

ing your car?

A: I enjoy bringing back spectators memories

of their past cars and the ones who

appreciate the older cars.

Q: What got you into doing car shows?

A: Since I am a car business owner, I enjoy

going out and introducing the different

cars to those who appreciate them and

might be wanting to purchase these cars.

I enjoy doing self promotion of myself and

my business.

Q: How many car shows do you do a

year?

A: I mostly do cruises, but I do about 3 or

4 shows a year.

Q: Are there any certain car shows that

you do every year?

A: I enjoy going to Piston and Pin-ups,

KCI cruise nights, and weekend cruises.

Q: What are your car's original specs?

A: The Olds 442 has it’s original engine:

400 cu in 6.6L V-8, 350 HP, Rochester

4GC. 4- barrel carburetor, 4-speed manual

transmission.

Q: What mods have been done to your

car?

A: The mods were done before I purchased

the Olds 442, custom paint, complete

set of gauges with tik-tok-tachometer,

18” 5 star Foose and flow master with

original trumpet tips.

Q: What mods do you want to do?

A: None it is perfect!

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

A: I like to give a big shout out to Talents

Rod Shop.

Q: Do you have any other hobbies or

interests?

A: I really enjoy playing softball and playing

cards.

Q: Do you have any other show cars?

A: I really enjoy old cars, hench my business

profession. I own about 12 to 14 other

cars. All of them are for sale for the right

price!

Q: If money wasn't an object which car

would you buy?

A: I would love to buy a 1969 Ford Mustang

Shelby GT 5.0 4-speed.

This Olds 442 convertible

has and is

all matching numbers,

even down to

the carburetor. The

engine is a 400 big

block with 4-barrel

carburetor and

4-speed manual

transmission. This

year came standard

with dual master cylinder,

4-way flashers,

energy absorbing

steering column,

padded dash, back

up lights, full fiberglass

hood, deluxe

steering wheel,

heavy duty springs,

stabilizer bar, special

shocks, special

emblems, hood

louvers dual exhaust

and pinstriping. The

custom paint job was

originally from 1967

color but there was

more purple added

for more of an iridescent

tint to it.




City Wide Car Club is a family-oriented car club dedicated to car,

car shows, kickbacks and community relations. With the mother

chapter in Los Angeles, California established by founder, Anthony

Vicencio, in 2005. City Wide has established chapters in Colorado

Springs, Denver, Kansas City, Missouri, Florida, San Antonio, Texas

and New Arizona.

The Kansas City, Missouri chapter was established in2015, when a

Colorado member moved to the area. City Wide Kansas City is working

to make themselves more visible in the community. City Wide

continues to grow it’s members. Officers of the Kansas City Chapter

include, Mikal Hill, President Brian Lackey, Vice President, Roland

Bock, Sargent at Arms and the late Tony Sexton. Tony was a passionate

enthusiast, it really showed when he spoke about his Tahoe. Tony

was always super proud of his City Wide family, the excitement, love,

and passion he radiated is deeply missed. Carrying on Tony’s love for

cars, networking with other clubs at events and nurturing his relationship

with City Wide is an attribute they hope to practice and

expand on by respecting each other as a brotherhood and building

relationships beyond City Wide to other clubs as well. The officers

and other club members enjoy attending shows and other related

functions. However, crusing, attending community events and networking

with other clubs are what they are most passionate about.

City Wide Car Club is proud of all that it has accomplished nationwide.

City Wide has hosted car shows, organized toy drives for the

community as well as trunk of treat just to name a few.

This photoshoot was done at Shawnee Mission Park in Shawnee Mission Kansas at

the same time that we did the photoshoot of Adam’s Camaro. The photos speak for

themselves. Both cars were captured beautifully with the backdrop that we chose to

use. Both cars are very exceptional cars! Adam takes a lot of pride in his cars that he

owns. The story of Adam purchasing this exceptional Chevelle expands over a period

of 10 years. He first was introduced to this Chevelle by one of his friends that had purchased

it about 13 years ago. That friend was the third owner of this Chevelle. Over

that 10 year time Adam would do some mechanical work for his friend on the Chevelle,

pertaining to the paint correction and brakes. One of the days that Adam was on the

phone with his friend in conversation his friend was saying that he would love to own a

C2 Corvette. So during the discussion of this, they both agreed that it would be nice if

Adam bought the Chevelle from him and he would buy his Corvette that he has been

wanting. His good friend ended up buying a 1967 C2 Corvette. Adam had enjoyed

working on this Chevelle over the years, and let’s face it he knew anything and everything

that the Chevelle would need to have done to it, if anything at all! Adam ended up

buying the Chevelle about 3 years ago. He has been showing the Chevelle since he purchased

it from his friend. His whole family truly enjoys driving the Chevelle, even

if it is just a little cruise around the town they live in. The furthest that he has drove it

was to the Ottawa River Run car show in Ottawa Kansas. This 1972 Chevelle SS has its

original interior and the beautiful Tuxedo Black paint job. Adam ended up wet sanding

the car to remove any orange peel and then polished it. That brought back the beautiful

paint job.

A: I enjoy the old cars that I see at the

shows, going up to them and learning

all the things about them.


A: My friends got me into doing car

shows. My kids also enjoy going just

like I do.

Q: How many cars shows do you do

per year?

A: We do about 10 to 15 car shows a

year.

Q: Are there certain car shows you go

to every year?

A: We definitely go to Ottawa River Run,

and we are wanting to do the Power Tour

car show.

Q: What mods have you done?

A: Engine: LS 5.3L small block, overdrive

transmission, 342 gear factory housing- 12

bolt rearend, Dakota digital dash gauges,

carbon fiber analog gauges and lowered 2

Once again we decided to do this photoshoot at the Crossroads of Kansas City.

There are so many different works of art in that area of the City. We thought the location

where we did the shoot was the perfect backdrop for this beautiful and classic car!

The Mach1 Mustang honestly is one beast of a ride. Scott Galligani bought this beautiful

Mustang back in 2000. One of his good friends told him about this certain car being for

sale at one of his neighbors. When Scott decided to go check out the Mustang, he was in

high hopes that it would be the car that he wanted to buy. They arrived at his friends

neighbors house and saw the Mustang and he knew this was the car that he had to

have. Since the loss of his second wife in 2000 of breast cancer he wanted to do something

to bring his family back together. Scott has always wanted to have an older car to

take to the car shows that he and his family so enjoy going to. The Mach1 Mustang was

mostly restored when Scott purchased it. Everything on the car is all original. He

was so excited to be able to go to the car shows and take his family with him for the

family time. His oldest daughter Sami would go with him and help her dad with the

cleaning and detailing of the Mach1 for the car shows. His younger daughter Tori has

followed in her sister’s footsteps and both of them have some great memories of time

spent with their dad and the Mustang. Scott hopes the tradition of family time and the

love of classis cars will also be passed down to his four grandchildren. Scott has been

showing this car since 2000 when he bought it. The Mach1 Mustang has won Best of

show 71-73. Has also won several 1st and 2nd place trophies, also a show winner of

Mustang of America 71 - 73 twice. Scott feels that a show car should be well maintained

and kept clean. You can definitely see the love that he has for this 1973 Mach1 Mustang!

The first Mach1 show car was introduced in late 1966. The purpose was to see the reaction

of the public to the race car like features. The car was called the “Mach1” because

of still being in the cold war era. The Mach 1 Mustangs produced from 1971 to 1973 would

cost at an average for the base model would be approximately $3,200. In 1973 Ford

made 35,439 Mach 1 Mustang and no convertibles were produced. The first

generation of the Mach 1 Mustang was 1969-1970, second generation

1971-1973, third generation 1974-1978 and fourth generation 2003-2004.

A: I’ve always had love and passion

for cars, especially always going to

the car shows and seeing all the

different cars.

Q: How many car shows do you do per

year?

A: I do local shows, the ones I can

drive to. I would say that I might go

to 3 or 4 shows but I go to alot of

cruises.

Q: Are there any certain car shows

you go to every year?

A: I go to the Lake of the Ozark car

shows. Definitely go to the Ottawa

River Run. I’m wanting to do World

of Wheels.

Q: Do you have any other hobbies

or interests?

A: I really enjoy the outdoors! Love

going to the Lake of the Ozarks!


A: Not at this time.

Q: If money wasn't an object which

car would you buy?

A: I would love to buy 1968 Shelby

Mustang convertible.

Shreve and his father Jerry Shreve.

They really encouraged my passion

for classic cars. Every time I drive

my Mustang, I think about the fun we

had as kids working on our cars and

driving fast! My lovely wife Danielle

and my kids Sami and Tori-all the kids!

500 rims that

are chrome and

black. In 1973 there

were approximately

35,439 Mach1 Mustangs

built and

no convertibles

were made from

1971-1973. The 1st

generation Mustang

produced from

1964-1973. There

was a facelift of the

Mustang from 1971-

1973. The purpose of

this was to test out

public reaction to

the race car like

features, The 3rd

gen 74-78 and 4th

gen 2003-2004.

We decided to do this photoshoot at Shawnee Mission Park in Shawnee Mission Kansas.

This beautiful park has many amenities for the public to enjoy. These amenities

include, swimming, boating, kayaking and nature trails amongst many other activities.

This photoshoot was done at the boat dock of the park. We worked very hard to capture

the beauty and classic look of the car that we do a photoshoot with at any location

we go to. Adam Dalsing is the proud owner of this beautiful 1972 Camaro SS. He was

interested in purchasing another car to take to the car shows. His brother found this

Camaro on Ebay in 2002. The car was in Hollywood California, was good distance away

but when Adam saw it online he was definitely interested in buying it. Adam responded

to the add for the car and had interaction with the broker that was in charge of the Camaro.

The original owner of this Camaro bought it brand new in 1972 as a second car.

The Camaro had 40,000 original miles on it when Adam bought it. Adam made a deal

on the Camaro through the broker and bought the car and then started doing research

on the difference of going and driving it back or having it transported to him. Adam said

there was only a $200 difference between the two, so he decided to have it transported.

During the transporting of this Camaro, Adam was in contact with the driver throughout

the journey. Adam soon realized that the car was coming from California where the

weather of course is totally different from Kansas, so he contacted the driver since it was

one of the coldest days of winter in Kansas. Adam asked the driver if where he was at

was below freezing and he responded no, then Adam told him that it was below freezing

in Kansas and if there was a way he could stop and check to see if there was just water

in the radiator. The driver did and called him back to let him know there was just water.

So when the driver got closer to Kansas he started the car and let it run at an idle until

it reached its destination so the engine wouldn’t freeze up. Adam was very excited to

find a car that wasn’t all torn up or rusted out. He noticed the paint wasn’t in the best

of shape but the interior was all original and in great shape. The Camaro had it’s usual

dents and dings but Adam stripped it down to the metal and did any body work needed

and painted it. Adam drove this beautiful Camaro for a few years before he decided to

have a different motor built and installed the motor himself.

A: I feel it is a good time to meet all

kinds of people and time to unwind.

Q: What are your original car specs?

A: Engine: V8 5.7 Ltr 16 valve, 200 HP,

3-speed automatic transmission, rear

wheel drive.


A: My friends got me into doing car

shows. I also like to check out other

cars.

Q: How many car shows do you do

every year?

A: We do about 10 to 15 car shows

a year. It varies year to year.

Q: Are there any certain car shows

you attend every year?

A: We definitely attend the Ottawa River

Run, Street Car Takeover, Shawnee Auto

center and a lot of cruises.

Adam has chosen

VF497 custom rims

on this gorgeous

classic car. This

1972 Camaro

SS is riding on

225/50/17 on the

front and 75/40/18

on the back, giving

the Camaro an

awesome

stance. The interior

of this car is

the original factory

stitched black vinyl

that came in the

car, with

the deluxe seats

and the trim

package. The 1972

Camaro SS is the

2nd gen of the

Camaro, Chevrolet

only produced

970 of the SS 396s

because of the GM

strike that lasted

for 174 days. Also

1972 was the last

year of the Camaro

that they offered

a big block from

the factory.

The engine in the

picture below is not

the factory engine.

Adam decided to

put in a 383

Chevy small block

with a procharger

intercooled, JE

forged pistons,

700-R4 overdrive

transmission with

a posi rear end.

Right now this

engine produces

650HP and 575

torque. The 1972

Camaro SS has a

wheelbase of 108

inches along with

the length of 188

inches and weight

of approximately

3,389 lbs. Original

clearance of the

1972 Camaro SS is

4.7 inches.

Interview

Car owner: Kenny Hendrickson

Car: 2014 Camaro 2SS/RS

Car name: Slayer

We decided to do this photoshoot at Wyandotte Park in Kansas by the Legends Outlet

Mall. The photographer Elton came across this original 5th generation Camaro at a

local car show. As you see in the photos the distinct muscle car look of this Camaro was

definitely captured.

Kenny Hendrickson has always been a big fan of Camaro’s. He likes all generations

of the Camaro, but the newer body style really got his attention when they came out.

Kenny decided that he wanted to save up the money to purchase the new generation

Camaro. When he finally got the amount up he wanted to save to buy one, he started

shopping and checking out the Camaro’s. He finally came across this gorgeous black

one at the dealership and fell in love, he bought it brand new in 2014. Once he purchased

this Camaro he started doing the modifications to it that he had in mind to do.

This took a few months to get done but as you see they have paid off. Kenny devotes his

free time to do charity events and car shows for charity as well. He also enjoys cruises

and meet and greets. Kenny has been showing his Camaro since 2015. The furthest

that Kenny has traveled with his Camaro has been to Kentucky. Kenny really enjoys

driving his 2014 Camaro called Slayer! This Camaro is his daily driver. Kenny is a

member of the DFW Camaro Car Club in Dallas /Fort Worth Texas. These members

are very active when it comes to charity and being involved in the community. Laps for

Charity at Texas Motor Speedway, Toys for Tots and many others. Kenny also likes to

drag race at the Northstar Dragway in Denton, Texas and corse racing at Cresson Motorsport

Ranch in Cresson, Texas. History of the Camaro- GM produced the Chevy Camaro

as a rush job in 1969 to meet the challenge presented by the ludicrously success

of the Ford Mustang. It started in 1969 with the SS and the Z28. The 1970 model was

available until the Berlinetta came out in 1992 along with the IROC-Z three years later

and followed by special editions. Then in 1987 there was the 20th Anniversary edition

released and in 1992 a 25th Anniversary edition with a heritage package. In 1993

a Z28 edition came out with a 5.7Ltr V8 with a 6-speed manual gear box. This edition

went on until 2002. After that the Camaro rolled out the fifth generation in 2010 and

which a year later went on to win The World Car of the Year award. The current body

A: I really enjoy meeting new people with

the same interests as myself. The reactions

of the kids when they see the car

and hearing the compliments I receive

about the car.


A: I was browsing online after I bought

my Camaro and seen some shows and it

got my attention.

Q: How many car shows do you do a

year?

A: I do about 10 to 20 car shows a year.

I do travel to Kansas City for car shows

and to visit family.

Q: Are there any certain car shows you

go to every year?

A: I make sure to go to Mustang Sally’s in

Dallas Texas, Laps for Charity, Toys for

Tots, Easter car show amongst many others.

Q: What are your car's original specs?

A: Engine: LS3 6.2Ltr V8, 6-speed manual

transmission.


A: Engine area: K&N cold air intake,

stainless Works headers, custom tuned,

strut bar and custom engine pieces, HID

lighting under the hood, Drilled and slotted

rotors, brembo 4piston brakes,

side marker tint, tail light lens covers,

Slayer emblem, sunroof, custom stripping.


A: I would like to install a stage 3 cam

and drag radials.
