NEIGHBOURHOOD GUIDES

Beach Cities | LAX | Santa Monica

With coastal attractions stretching from

Malibu all the way south to San Pedro and

the Port of Los Angeles, L.A.’s beach

communities are the epitome of Southern California’s

endless summer.

Malibu is situated along 21 miles of pristine coastline

and traversed by the Pacific Coast Highway. It is

known for its beaches, celebrity residents, and

spectacular setting.

One of L.A.’s most popular visitor destinations, Santa

Monica offers a wide range of shopping and robust

nightlife. Visit Pacific Park at Santa Monica Pier for

amusement-park fun and a carousel ride.

Try sportfishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or

whale watching from Marina del Rey. Explore the

Waterside shopping center, full of restaurants and

shops, then relax at a top-rated lounge or local

sports bar.

The LAX Corridor is the gateway to LAX and provides

a fun layover or a home base for further travels. The

Gateway offers one of L.A.’s highest concentrations

of hotels.

Hermosa Beach displays wide stretches of sand

where famous surf and volleyball competitions are

held. Take advantage of the beautiful weather to

sunbathe, rent a bike, or Rollerblade along The Strand.

Known as the “Pearl of the South Bay,” Manhattan

Beach offers an impressive display of beachfront real

estate, and is a culinary hotbed with seafood shacks,

gastropubs, and fine dining options.

Visit San Pedro at L.A. Waterfront, part of the

bustling Port of Los Angeles. Beautiful parks, beaches,

an aquarium, and boating adventures acquaint

visitors with shore life.

Famous for its boardwalk, Venice is also the site

of Muscle Beach and the Venice Skate Park. Stroll

down Abbot Kinney Boulevard for eclectic shops

and sophisticated eateries.

Downtown

Downtown Los Angeles has experienced a

renaissance. Hip hotels, over 100 trendsetting

restaurants, and world-class entertainment

venues and museums sustain a thriving art

scene and nightlife along walkable streets.

At the center of all the action is South Park, the

location of L.A. LIVE, Microsoft Square, Fashion

Institute of Design & Merchandising, STAPLES Center,

and the Los Angeles Convention Center. For fans of

music, fashion, hockey, or basketball, this is one of

the most exciting places in the city.

The vibrant Financial District offers culture,

an eclectic mix of dining options, and superb

accommodations. Experience world-class

performances at The Music Center and see L.A.

from California’s tallest open-air observation

deck at OUE Skyspace LA.

Little Tokyo remains one of the few Japanese

cultural centers in North America. Attractions

include the Japanese American National Museum

and the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.

Chinatown is a unique mix of tradition and

revitalization. The landmark district has old and

new dining and shopping options, all set against

a historic backdrop.

The Arts District is home to galleries, boutiques,

eye-catching street art, and some of the hottest

restaurants and bars in the city.

Koreatown, or “K-Town,” is a scene like nowhere

else in L.A., where Korean BBQ, dumpling houses,

and pork-belly tasting menus are staples of the

culinary scene. Karaoke bars and speakeasies

are also plentiful.

Adjacent to USC, Exposition Park is home to a

world-class collection of museums, sports facilities,

and recreational areas including the California

Science Center, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum,

Natural History Museum, and the Rose Garden.

tree-lined streets, and A-list residents. Take in

the spectacular views, architecture, and art

on display at The Getty Center.

Century City is home to gleaming high-rises

and luxe hotels, where movers and shakers work

and play. The neighborhood features the recently

renovated Westfield Century City, an open-air

peruse the impressive collection of exhibits at the L.A.

County Museum of Art (LACMA).

has become a foodie paradise, home to authentic

Japanese restaurants, modern eateries, artisan

coffee, and ramen shops.
