#InThisTogether
To Our #LivoFamily
I hope that the first edition of Livo Life Line finds you all well. I have
been absolutely overwhelmed by the support everyone has shown as
we work with each other during this challenging time. The kindness,
respect and dedication from our entire community has been something
truly special. I feel that it is now more important than ever to keep in
touch and work together and we will come through this stronger than
ever before. I hope that Livo Life Line will be something to look forward
to in the post and celebrate the truly amazing ways in which our
students, families and staff are working together to get through this.
Until next time, take care and stay safe.
David Yates, Principal
Year 11 Leavers
What a last day we gave our Year 11 students!
Karaoke, cupcakes, cards and keyrings with fantastic
videos and presentations to top it all off! We have taken
delivery of your Leavers Hoodies and we can’t wait to
see you all again at our special ‘Leavers Event’! Watch
this space!
LHS - Rainbow of Hope
The first day our school was closed was a very
strange day for everyone who was in. So, we decided
the best thing we could do was to create the biggest
rainbow we could to help bring hope and joy to our
community! Made up of over 100 individual pieces of
paper, we are very proud of our handywork! Hats off
to Miss Hatton, Miss Roberts and our fantastic
students for their artistic expertise. #InThisTogether
Glasses for our NHS
Last week Ms Baines found out that there was a
shortage of safety glasses in the NHS for the staff
tackling Corona Virus on the front line. So, Mr Irlam
got 110 pairs of glasses from the Science
Department and we sent them off to Aintree Hospital
via Rowan Park to help the amazing people working
in the NHS. We hope this small donation helps
because you are doing a fantastic job! #NHSLove
Book Review - The Hobbit - JRR Tolkien
The story of a normal Hobbit and an adventure to retrieve stolen gold
from a dragon with many surprise twists and turns on the way and
maybe even a visit from a wizard or two.
The book on a whole is a magical adventure to an alternate world of
Middle-Earth to a small Hobbit Hole in the ground. With everything from
dragons to dwarfs. A mix of humour and magic intertwined.
You will not want to put this book down and you definitely will not want
the adventure to end.
In my opinion this is one of the most fantastic books I have ever read
and I believe it is worth a read from anyone who dares to give it a
chance to amaze them. You will definitely not regret reading this book.
Why wouldn't you want to get started?

Mrs Gaudie’s Daily Challenge
Mrs Gaudie has been keeping Year 7 on their toes with
her daily challenges! Each day she chooses a word and
you have to come up with something creative to do with it!
This may be a photo, piece of artwork or even a poem!
She has some fantastic entries! Check them out!
Working at home
Home learning in it’s current form is something strange and
uncharted for all of us and we are all learning as we go along. Some
students (and parents!) will find it very challenging and hard to do, and
that’s OK. Some students will revel in the opportunity and excel and
that’s great too! But no matter what you are doing at home with
regards to your academic school work, it is equally, if not more
important to look after your mental and physical health as well. There
are lots of ideas online to help with this ranging from fitness sessions
on social media to where to go to if you need help. Remember, all of
us here at Litherland High are here to support and help you, if you
need something, just ask! #LivoFamily
Home Learning Super Stars
We have been inundated with photos from students working at
home, keen to share with us what they have been up to! If you have
a piece of work or a photo you would like to share for our next
edition of Livo Life Line then please send it to Mrs Burns at
aburns@mylhs.org. We look foward to seeing what you are all up to!
GCSE Art/Photography Exhibition 2020
Every year for the past (I don’t know how many years!) we have held
an Art and Photography Exhibition to showcase the amazing work
produced by our Year 11 students. You will be glad to hear that this
year will be no different (it will just be a little later!) With this in mind,
we will make sure that all completed work is included in the
exhibition. If you would like your work, please contact Miss Baines,
Miss Bell or Miss Hatton to arrange for it to be picked up. Let’s make
this year’s exhibition better than ever!
Mr Glover’s Cookery Challenge
It is important to stay healthy at this time and eating good food is
essential to that. You are all spending more time at home and many
of you will be helping to cook. This is a great time to learn an
important life skill. With limited ingredients available this means you
have to be more creative in the kitchen. Are you up for Mr Glover’s
challenge, if so then get in the kitchen and create! Here’s what you
have been cooking so far!
My LHS Journey
It was quite nerve racking on
my first day. Walking through
the gates on my own I didn't
know what to expect.
Everything seemed so big, the
building and the kids in older
years.
I soon settled in quickly!
I have had a lot of experiences
in my time in y7,
I had the chance to meet
Seamus Coleman from Everton
through an after school
programme and
I also was lucky enough to be
chosen to go to Finch Farm to
meet and play football with the
first team players. It was
amazing.
I am a y7 student voice Rep,
because I wanted to help make
a difference to school in a
positive way.
I can't wait to see all my friends
again and continue with all the
great stuff that we get to do.

Transition Tales
A big shout out for the newest members of our #LivoFamily, to the
Year 6 students who are starting with us in September! We are so
excited to meet you all! We know that with everything going on at
the moment, things must feel a bit strange. But we want you to
know that we are here to support you throughout the whole
Transition process, even if it’s from a distance. If you have any
questions at all please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at
lhstransition@mylhs.org In the meantime, we hope you enjoy
reading Livo Life Line and please feel free to send photos of the
work you’ve been doing at home for us to include in the next
edition. Speak to you soon!
Pixl Edge Qualification for Star Sisters
A big well done to Hannah and Katie Smith
who have managed to complete their Pixl
Edge Leadership Qualification whilst
they’ve been at home! Mrs McKenna and
Mrs Heath are very proud of them both! But
who will be next?
New Additions to the Millionaire’s Club
Congratulations to Nadine McKenna and Rose McKenzie who
have both read over one million words! Welcome to the
Millionaire’s Club!
Your child’s
happiness and
wellbeing comes first.
We do not want to
cause any
unnecessary stress in
relation to their
school work.
The revision books
are for your children
to keep. They can
make notes in them
as and when
required.
If you need any
support at all, please
do not hesitate to
get in contact
with the relevant
member of staff.
We’re here to help
you.
We provided revision
books, exercise
books and printed
resources as we
knew that there
would be some
students with no
internet access.
When we return to
school, teachers will
plan a curriculum
that will address any
gaps in learning due
to the closure. We
will spend the first 2
weeks catching up.
Some students will
find the school work
helps to provide a
focus during these
times.
Please do not worry
if your child is having
difficulty with the
work.
As parents, it’s your
decision how often
your children do
their school work.
This may be daily for
a couple of hours or
some may prefer to
work different days
each week.
We would love the
students to bring in
their exercise books
when we come back.
There will be lots of
prizes to celebrate
their hard work!

To our amazing Parents and Carers
The final shout out for this edition of Livo Life
Line is to you, our children’s amazing Parents
and Carers. You are doing a fantastic job! This
situation is new for all of us and we are all feeling
the various pressures at different times. I have
absolutely no doubt in my mind that we will come
through this together and be all the stronger for it.
If you need us, we are always here. Please do
get in touch. Take care and stay safe.
From everyone here at LHS.
