Fun With Balloons
I tie a string between two chairs and then fasten balloons
to the string so that they dangle toward the
floor. The balloons can be different colors and sizes.
Once the balloons are in place, my baby hits and
watches them (always with close supervision). Once
my children crawl, they and I can move under and
around a new string of balloons.
For increased sensory play, I might attach lightweight
bells, noise makers or wet fabric scraps to the
line of balloons.

supervision is required whenever children play with
balloons.
Workday at Grandma’s
We pack our four kids in the car and drive to my parents’
house for a workday at Grandma and Grandpa’s.
They prepare a to-do list for our family ahead of time,
and we are all able to complete more in an afternoon
than the two of them could do in weeks.
Our job list is never the same. Over the years, we
have painted, fixed the driveway, trimmed branches,
cleaned out the garage, repaired doors, hauled boxes
and shoveled rocks. It’s a wonderful way to show the
kids how we help our family by giving of ourselves
and our time to others.
