Meet your staff

Mr Yates

I am head teacher

What is your favourite thing about LHS?

There is so much I love about our school! It’s the way everyone comes together,

staff, students and our families. It’s like my extended family.

What was your favourite subject in school?

My favourite subjects were Maths and PE.

When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?

I enjoy playing football and watching my beloved Burnley FC.

What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?

Meet your staff

Miss Brown

What do you do in school?

I am an Admin Officer and I work in the Main Office.

What is your favourite thing about LHS?

My favourite thing about Litherland High is that everyone is so friendly. It’s like being part of one

big family.

What was your favourite subject in school?

My favourite subject was Art.

When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?

I like to spend time with my family. I like to ride my bike and also enjoy reading and dressmaking.

What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?

Going to High School is exciting but can be a little bit scary too, so if you have any questions or

concerns, no matter how big or small, you only have to ask a member of our lovely staff. There

is always someone here for you to speak to.

Pupils in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 are very friendly and would be happy to help you too.

I am sure you will love your time at Litherland High. There are lots of great opportunities here

for you. Enjoy.

The teachers work well together and we build good relationships with the students.

We get to know the students really well and know how to help them in school.

What was your favourite subject in school?

Computer Science is my favourite subject as it is by far the most interesting subject

taught in the school.

When you have freetime, how do you like to spend it?

I like to play golf; although I find it very frustrating at times (I can play really well one

day and then the next time I go it’s like I’ve never played the game before).

What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?

I know that these are unusual times; the end of primary school and the start of

secondary school will be different. Don’t worry about coming to Litherland High

you will be well looked after. Many of the teachers have their own kids in primary &

secondary schools. We understand how you might be feeling and will do everything

to make sure your start to the school is a good one (make sure you opt for

Computer Science when you take your options in Year 9).
