What do you do in school?
I am head teacher
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
There is so much I love about our school! It’s the way everyone comes together,
staff, students and our families. It’s like my extended family.
What was your favourite subject in school?
My favourite subjects were Maths and PE.
When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?
I enjoy playing football and watching my beloved Burnley FC.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
I cannot wait for you to join our school, you are going to love it! I was the
newcomer last year and I felt at home straight away. Don’t be nervous, we will be
with you and your family every step of the way!

What do you do in school?
I am an Admin Officer and I work in the Main Office.
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
My favourite thing about Litherland High is that everyone is so friendly. It’s like being part of one
big family.
What was your favourite subject in school?
My favourite subject was Art.
When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?
I like to spend time with my family. I like to ride my bike and also enjoy reading and dressmaking.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
Going to High School is exciting but can be a little bit scary too, so if you have any questions or
concerns, no matter how big or small, you only have to ask a member of our lovely staff. There
is always someone here for you to speak to.
Pupils in Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 are very friendly and would be happy to help you too.
I am sure you will love your time at Litherland High. There are lots of great opportunities here
for you. Enjoy.

What do you do in school?
I am the Head of Computing and Business Studies.
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
The teachers work well together and we build good relationships with the students.
We get to know the students really well and know how to help them in school.
There is a friendly atmosphere in school and it is a good place to work.
What was your favourite subject in school?
Computer Science is my favourite subject as it is by far the most interesting subject
taught in the school.
When you have freetime, how do you like to spend it?
I like to play golf; although I find it very frustrating at times (I can play really well one
day and then the next time I go it’s like I’ve never played the game before).
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
I know that these are unusual times; the end of primary school and the start of
secondary school will be different. Don’t worry about coming to Litherland High
you will be well looked after. Many of the teachers have their own kids in primary &
secondary schools. We understand how you might be feeling and will do everything
to make sure your start to the school is a good one (make sure you opt for
Computer Science when you take your options in Year 9).

What do you do in school?
I am one of the science teachers at Litherland High School.
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
I love doing practical lessons – especially ones that involve Bunsen burners.
What was your favourite subject in school?
Of course it was science – but I also loved maths and drama.
When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?
When I’m not in school you can find me watching Everton or playing darts.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
Hello to our new Year 7, I’m sure you are just as excited to start Litherland as I am to
become your science teacher. See you in September.

When you have freetime, how do you like to spend it?
Playing Scrabble, board games and swimming.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
Jump off the diving board and dive right in with your arms outstretched to capture
everything! In other words, get involved in every club and activity offered… the
more the better.

Because it’s a small school (for a secondary) we all know each other really well!

Reading, travelling, spending time with my family.

Welcome to our school! It looks huge but actually, it is very welcoming and you will
soon feel right at home!

When you have free time, how do you like to spend it?
Eating with friends or spending time with my niece and nephew.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
Don’t be afraid. It will be a different experience from Primary school but you will get
used to it! There will be lots of new people in your class so get to know them all

What do you do in school?
I am a teacher of Computer Science and
Business, also the Head of Year 8.
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
I have worked here for 14 years and that’s because I love how at Litherland High we
are one big ‘Livo Family’.
What was your favourite subject in school?
ICT and Business Studies.
When you have freetime, how do you like to spend it?
I spend time with my family on fun filled days out. Our favourite thing to do is to
pack a picnic and go to the airport to watch the planes take off and land.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
Get involved with activities and ‘Livo Life’. From sports, to drama and music. There
are so many opportunities for our students

What do you do in school?
I teach Design Technology and Food Technology.
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
This school is a very happy place and when you are here you feel like you are part of
a big family.

Listening to music, travelling and watching football (Liverpool FC)
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
This is the start of something special, enjoy every minute of your time because it will
go quickly. Try everything and get involved with as many things at the school as you
can and you will have a wonderful five years here. Looking forward to meeting you
all very soon.

What do you do in school?
Head of Mathematics and I teach Y7 –Y11.
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
The people! I have been teaching at Litherland for 18 years this September and it’s
a great community to be part of. It always has been and that’s down to the people
within – staff and students. There is a nice feeling at LHS as soon as you walk through
the door!
What was your favourite subject in school?
Maths, Science and History were my favourites.
When you have freetime, how do you like to spend it?
At this point in my life, I have very little free time! I am lucky to have two daughters
(aged 3 and 8). My ‘free’ time is their time.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
We are so looking forward to welcoming you all. You will make so many new friends
and memories in the time you are with us. It’s natural to feel a little apprehensive
about starting a new school but we are all here to help you and to make your years
at LHS happy ones. Try your best and you will succeed!!

What do you do in school?
I teach music and leave half-drunk cups
of coffee everywhere.
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
Our bright, colourful building and the hard-working people inside it!

Food tech. I love cooking because I love eating!

I am really looking forward to seeing you all in the Music Department. If you can
smell coffee upstairs, you are probably near Music. There are many ways to get
involved in Music at LHS. You can join a music club, have lessons with one of our peri
teachers on an instrument or book a practice room to work on your music skills or
form a band.

What do you do in school?
I am in charge of the science department at LHS.
We have 5 science teachers and a technician working in
our department teaching all three sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Biology).
What is your favourite thing about LHS?
I really like the atmosphere here at LHS. It’s a really friendly school to work in. We
have fabulous facilities and team of enthusiastic science teachers ready to teach you
interesting facts about science.
What was your favourite subject in school?
My favourite subject at school was art and technical drawing.
When you have freetime, how do you like to spend it?
I love football and support the best team in the country (Manchester City). I also like
woodwork and other DIY.
What message do you want to share with our new Year 7 students?
Start as you mean to go on. Always give your best and remember as teachers we are
here to help you achieve your goals and ambitions.
