‘Look back with pride and forward with confidence’
Wednesday, 10 June 2020
It has been great to see further children back in school this week and others working so hard
from home. Children have adapted well to the new arrangements and to see so many
children engaging positively in their learning, both within school and from home, has been
fantastic.
I am writing to you as you may have seen the latest government announcement yesterday.
This announcement is that the phased return of years 2, 3, 4 and 5 is not going ahead
nationally until September. This is, of course, disappointing news for you and for us as a
school. The government have suggested though that as a school we will have increased
flexibility to prioritise children’s return to school, within the limits of the safety guidance
available. We therefore await this guidance before making any further decision on the
phased return of children so we can communicate with you a clear plan for the remainder of
the year.
Due to this we are unable to go ahead with booking places for our next two-week window at
this stage. We will contact you early next week about arrangements to book places from the
22nd June- 6th July. As previously stated, based on government guidance to support social
distancing our school only has limited capacity. If our school goes over this capacity, we will
simply not be able to accommodate all children. We will therefore await government
guidance on how we might prioritise children if we are oversubscribed and aim to
communicate this process when we invite our next round of bookings next week.
Thank you for your patience and support during these challenging times. We continue to be
committed to supporting every child and every family. We are working hard to maintain and
further develop home learning opportunities for all children. Please do continue to support
your children to access this learning and please do contact us if we can help in any way.
Thank you for your support as always
