I, like many o<strong>the</strong>r expatriate residents and TCI citizens, was gifted with a four-month “vacation in paradise,”<br />
thanks to <strong>the</strong> global COVID-19 pandemic. In a wise move by <strong>the</strong> Turks & Caicos <strong>Islands</strong> Government,<br />
<strong>the</strong> country’s borders were closed on March 24, <strong>2020</strong>, one day after <strong>the</strong> first positive case <strong>of</strong> COVID-19<br />
was recorded here. The last flight from Providenciales International Airport carried <strong>of</strong>f <strong>the</strong> few remaining<br />
visitors and “lockdown” began.<br />
