Mr Nobody is a science fiction film directed by Jaco Van Dormael
and starring Jared Leto, Sarah Polley, Linh Dan Pham, Natasha Little,
Juno Temple, Diane Kruger Toby Regbo and Rhys Ifans. This film
was nominated to best film and Best director in the Magritte Awards.
The film was released in January 2010. This film is outstanding for
its philosophy and cinematography, personal characters and
soundtrack. Mr. Nobody is a tale about choice. It is a film about
Nemo Nobody, a 118 year-old man who is the last mortal on Earth
because humans have achieved immortality renewing cells in 2092.
When Nemo was 9, he had to make an impossible decision, he had to
choose between his mother and his father. In few seconds, the rest of
his life depends on the decision he makes, but chaos happens in this
child’s head because of his imagination on the future and each
decision he makes will create completely separated an alternative
universe in his life experience. Nemo is 118 years old and he is being
interviewed by a psychiatrist where he makes an interplay between
philosophy and what he forgets about his memories. The movie
takes different views of existence of life in the universe and will show
how subjective time is and how minimum actions have
consequences and how it impacts the future. This film leaves a
message that consists to choose happiness and love above all.
The importance of the decisions
we had never understood until
now, when just say a syllable or
not, it changes our destiny
moving us between the infinity of
multiverses that can be real in
this timeline, but every part of
mass or matter has this privilege
of directing the course of the
universe. The most interesting
thing is that this determination of
the universe route isn’t random,
otherwise it’s like a tree when in
time 0 we are in the trunk and as
time passes, all the actions in the
universe converge to a branch
and this process goes on until the
infinite.

What would
happen?
In this movie we can see how
Nemo asked himself the famous
question “ If i changed
something, What would
happen?”, and it’s in this question
when the theory of chaos, more
exactly “butterfly effect”, comes
to live and says “ It has been said
that something as small as the
flutter of butterfly’s wing can
ultimately cause a typhoon
halfway around the world”. In
conclusion this is a complicate
movie, but if you can understand
it then your point of view will
change forever.
