The Scalpel

This breath-taking addition to the City of London

skyline has won acclaim the world over.

Apex Wiring Solutions is proud to have supplied

modular solutions to numerous projects within The

Scalpel, which cuts a striking image alongside “the

Gherkin” and The Shard.

The 38-storey Scalpel, on the corner of Lime Street and

Leadenhall Street, was supplied with a full Apex metal

clad system comprising Evo MDBs and extenders as

well as fused connection units for the fan coils units.

The skyscraper is the European headquarters for

insurance company W. R. Berkley. Other tenants

include Axis Novae, National Australia Bank, Morrison &

Foerster, Britannia Financial Group, and Convex.



Nova Victoria


Bringing together some of London’s most

exciting eateries and recreational outlets, Nova

Victoria is a haven for foodies.

Neighbouring Victoria Station, it’s a home for eclectic

and inventive brands, with more than 20 restaurants

and leisure venues, including Hai Cenato, Bone

Daddies, Shake Shack, Franco Manca, Aster and Flight

Club, visitors enjoy diverse dining options and activities

set amongst stunning public realm.

Apex supplied the project with a bespoke metal clad

fully modular wiring solution incorporating power , bus

and lighting systems.

Olympic Stadium

(London Stadium, West Ham Utd)

Apex supplied modular solutions to not only the

Olympic Stadium, now home to West Ham United,

but also throughout the Olympic Athletes’ Village.

The system comprised an IP68 waterproof solution

feeding all field of play floodlighting as well as all gantry

lighting. Developed to reduce initial installation times by

over 50% as well as providing a demountable modular

connection which could be assembled at ground

level then craned into position. This also provided the

flexibility required when the stadium use changed from

Athletics to Football.

Francis Crick Institute

This leading-edge biomedical research centre in

the heart of London was established in 2010 and

opened in 2016.

A significant build, the institute was created from a

partnership between Cancer Research UK, Imperial

College London, King’s College London, the Medical

Research Council, University College London and the

Wellcome Trust.

Television Centre

The BBC’s world-famous HQ in the heart of the

capital, Television Centre is one of the most

instantly recognisable buildings in the UK.

Located in White City, West London, it was the home

of BBC Television between 1960 and 2013. Apex

supplied a turnkey solution for both lighting and power

for the major refurbishment of the complex ahead of its

reopening in 2017.

Royal London hospital

This 160000 square metre project in the centre of

London faced a number of logistical challenges

and Apex were selected to assist with this by

providing modular wiring to all areas of the

727-bed Royal London Hospital. The project

was delivered on time and on budget to our

client Skanska.

This high-profile £650m project is the home of the air

ambulance, which operates from the roof, as well as

Europes largest renal service.

St Bart’s Hospital

A hugely successful 10-year modernisation

project to redevelop Britain’s oldest hospital,

was aided with the installation of Apex

Modular Wiring.

The Skanska-led project at St Bartholomew’s in central

London, has significantly reduced its carbon emissions,

lowered energy costs, freeing up more money to be

spent on patient treatment.



Walkie Talkie building

20 FENCHURCH ST

20 Fenchurch Street, nicknamed ‘The Walkie-

Talkie’ because of its distinctive shape, is

a skyscraper in the historic City of London

financial district.

Construction was completed in 2014, with three-floor

‘sky garden’ was opened 2015. The 38-story building is

160m tall and owned by Lee Kum Kee Groups.

Apex Wiring Solutions supplied various Modular

systems to a number of fit out projects within this

prestigious £200m project.

100 Bishopsgate

(Freshfields, Royal Bank of

Canada, Jeffries fit outs)

A 40-storey commercial development

close to Liverpool Station, London, was

completed in 2019.

This glass and steel tower, and seven storey podium,

turns from parallelogram at its base to rectangle at the

top, instantly becoming one of London’s largest and

most distinctive high rise buildings.

Apex products were used by a number of major M&E

contractors across every phase of the project, which

creates over 84,000sq m of premium office and retail

space across two buildings.

135 Bishopsgate

A building that is being transformed and embracing its

architecturally unique features.

The finished project delivers creative workspaces with

views over St Pauls, Spitalfields Market and the City

towers. Downstairs in 135 Bishopgate is the London

home to the world-renowned Eataly Food Market.

Apex products were selected to help reduce program

times and efficiencies during the refurbishment, which

creates a welcoming eastern entrance to Broadgate

while enhancing the estate’s retail and commercial offer.

22 Bishopsgate

Known as Twentytwo, this is another incredible

commercial skyscraper that is under

construction in London.

Occupying a prominent site in Bishopsgate, in the

City of London financial district, it will stand 278 m tall

with 62 storeys.



International

Quarter Stratford (IQL)


IQL is a vibrant newly created neighbourhood in

the heart of Stratford, that combines the best of

London in one place.

It creates an ambitious new way of life, that brings

together London’s culture, entertainment, shops and

restaurants with beautiful homes designed by globally

recognised architects.

Main Contractor was Lend Lease and the M&E Services

were provided by T Clarke.

1 London Wall Place

One of the city’s newest commercial

destinations, 1 London Wall Place offers an

acre of landscaped public realm between two

statement office towers totalling.

Apex supplied a complete Modular Solution to the

project, which is one of the most convenient business

destinations in London, benefitting from a close

proximity to the Bank of England, the reinvigorated city

retail environment of Cheapside and sits within metres

of the Moorgate entrance to Crossrail - placing every

central London mainline station within a travel time of

just 10 minutes.



60 London Wall

Citygrove redeveloped this prominent building

to provide efficient high quality modern grade

A specified office accommodation with a prime

retail offering at ground floor level.

17 Charterhouse Street,

De Beers, London

Led by architects MCM, the project is a complete

strip back to the structural frame of the original

building in Charterhouse Street.

Apex delivered its versatile Evo range of products for

extensions to the building, which also included reconfiguring

cores and re-cladding the property.

This new contemporary asset that will be the new home

of de Beers.



One Crown place


Reflecting the old-meets-new character of the

City and Hackney, One Crown Place comprises

existing period buildings with two new residential

towers offering 246 apartments.

Apex supplied a fully modular solution to the to the

project including co-ordination with the lighting control

specialist and fan coil provider. Featuring 15,500sqm of

high-quality office space, with a variety of retail space at

ground level.

The boutique hotel and members’ club occupy the

elegant row of Georgian terraces on Sun Street.

London School of Hygiene

and Tropical Medicine

The significant redevelopment of LSHTM is

ongoing, with the masterplan goal of the total

refurbishment of its entire current estate.

A seven year project, Apex have continued to supply the

project throughout the duration of the rebuild scheme.



London School

of Economics


The largest LSE capital development project

in its 120 year history, the ‘Centre Buildings

Redevelopment project’ is creating a state of the

art, flexible and highly sustainable academic and

teaching building.

It sees construction of academic buildings arranged

around a public square, providing a new focus at the

centre of LSE.

M&E contractor Dornan Engineering selected Apex

Wiring to provide a complete solution for the project.

The redevelopment involves the demolition of existing

LSE buildings along Houghton Street, known as Clare

Market, The Anchorage, the East Building and part of

St Clements.
