Lemon-aid for St John<br />

Cousins Libby Driscoll­Fear and<br />

Danielle Hill havespent some of<br />

their school holidays thinking of<br />

ways to help other people.<br />

The duo made use of their<br />

grandmother’s lemon treeand set<br />

up astall and soldlemons to raise<br />

money for St John. They raised<br />

$20.<br />

The girls took their hard­earned<br />

efforts into St John <strong>Ashburton</strong> and<br />

caught up with St John <strong>Ashburton</strong><br />

executiveofficer Elaine<br />

Vallender.<br />

“Wewerethrilled to receive<br />

their donation,” Mrs Vallender<br />

said.<br />

“With amassiveshortfall in<br />

fundinglooming ahead of us for<br />

this newfinancialyear, everybit<br />

helps.”<br />

“St John wasn’teligible forthe<br />

wage subsidy and we were unable<br />

to do any fundraising,including<br />

HolmesSalmon Run will be held on Saturday,<br />
