reflection of cultural, educational and other activities

and programmes being presented by the trainees under

the guidance of teachers.

The participation of Pupil teachers’ in such activities not

only strengthens their content knowledge, it also enables

them to accomplish the aims of education. The

management of R.K.T.T.I organizes a number of inservice

programmes for the professional growth of

teacher educators so that they remain updated with new

developments and give their best to the pupil-teachers.

It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction that the

Institute is bringing out the next issue of the newsletter.

The newsletter is the mirror which reflects all aspects of

creativity and achievements of the pupil-teachers in

academic and co-curricular activities. The institute has

been making best efforts to mould and polish the

personality and character of the trainees. Every

individual has innate capabilities which remain latent

but they develop when the favorable conditions are

provided. Our Institute is incessantly striving to develop

and nurture talent of the trainees. I commend the

teachers of the Institute, who have striving towards this

end. This newsletter is a flowering of the efforts of our

teachers and trainees.

know that R.K.T.T.I is bringing out its next issue

of newsletter. I was gratified to trainees. They

provide them with sufficient teaching exposure in

the microteaching and simulated situations. The

guiding philosophy of this institute is to enhance

integrity and commitment to serve the nation and

add value to the organization by applying the best

of technical and analytical skills. I congratulate all

Message from the Principal’s Desk…..

It is indeed a proud moment for all of us to bring out the 9 th

issue of R.K.T.T.I newsletter under the very able guidance,

motivation and inspiration of our Director, Mrs. Kanta

Aggarwal. I am especially thankful to our Chairman Mr. I.P.

Aggarwal and Dr. S.K. Bhatia for their unstinted support

towards our mission for excellence in education. In the modern

society, Institute is not a place for merely filling student’s mind

with facts, figures and information. It is a place where they find

opportunity to develop their creative potential and latent

abilities for meeting future challenges and serving society. Our

devoted teachers have been nurturing the fertile brains of

trainees. The Institute has successfully molded the careers of

many trainees in the past. I sincerely hope that our Institute

goes a long way in bringing up the future teachers of this great

Message from the Chief Editor’s Desk.....

It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction that our

institute is bringing out IX issue of the session 2019-2020

newsletter. The newsletter inspires and motivates the

students to develop their potential and creative talent.

Newsletter is collage of ideas, a digest of innovative and

impressive brainwork to reflect the achievements of the

institution, contribution of teachers and students by

motivating them to express their thoughts and ideas.

Pupil Teachers were encouraged to express their views,

thoughts, reactions and creativity. We got a warm

response from them. We hope the publication of these

newsletters will nurture talent of our future teachers.

I express my heartfelt thanks to the Director ma’am and

Principal ma’am for giving me this opportunity. I hope

trainees will work hard to attain goals with perseverance

and enthusiasm.

fear and express their ideas & thoughts through various

cultural & non-cultural events.

for their constant support and encouragement, and for

Dear Reader

Dear Readers,

I feel privileged and contented that our premier Institute

R.K.T.T.I, is going to publish its Newsletter of the year

2019-2020. I am really obliged that I have been given this

opportunity to be a part of it. Ramakrishna Teacher

Training Institute is a threshold where the trainees are

given ample opportunities to work in groups and pairs under

the guidance of the eminent teachers.

I take this opportunity to thank our teachers’ for

sermonizing & dating out their special skills and turning us

into dynamic class and teachers for future generation.

I thank Principal ma’am & other faculty members for their

ample guidance & support.

Lastly, I would like to conclude my message by this famous

saying –

“The true purpose of education is to make minds, not

INDEPENDENCE DAY

On 15,August 947, India got the freedom and finally was broken

from the shackles of slavery. Ramakrishna Teacher Training

Institute celebrated the 73 rd Independence Day & Raksha

Bandhan with great keenness and proudness on 14 th August,

2019. It was the time of splendid celebration as 19 years later

Raksha Bandhan & Independence Day fell on the sameday. The

trainees contributed towards its preparations & the celebration

began with the guard of honour. The guest of honour, Mr. I.P

Aggarwal (Chairman Triveni Educational & Social Welfare

Society) and other distinguished guests, Mrs. Kanta Aggarwal

(Director R.K.T.T.I), Dr. S.K Bhatia (Chairman R.K.T.T.I),

Mrs. Seema Sehgal (Principal R.K.T.T.I) were warmly

welcomed by the trainees for Flag hoisting ceremony. Then the

cultural program began by reciting of patriotic songs & poem.

Further, it was flourished by various dance, drama to celebrate

the virtuous bond of love between a brother & a sister. As the

program was coming to an end the enthusiasm in the institute

remained the same.


TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in

creative expression & knowledge.” R.K.T.T.I solemnly

celebrated Teachers’ day with great gusto and gaiety on 5 th

September 2019. Trainees performed a scintillating cultural

show to devote their love, respect, acknowledgement &

recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards

their development.

The cultural show incorporated poems, songs, dance and

drama. They also entertained teachers by arranging fun

games for them. They indicated that teachers play a vital

role in making their pupils accountable citizens of

tomorrow & wonderful human beings as well. All the

teachers enjoyed and appreciated the programme.

Programme concluded with Principal’s address. The

Principal, Mrs. Seema Sehgal extended her heartiest

thanks to all the trainees on behalf of the staff.


WINTER CARNIVAL

R.K.T.T.I organized West Delhi’s biggest Winter Carnival

2019, an open talent hunt show.

The Carnival is held each year with awesome eagerness and

a great deal of fun & frolic. Mouth- watering food, games,

exciting prizes &fun time with companions and dear ones

made the day remarkable. It rolled out an exciting medley of

events for trainees to present their talents. The stage was all

set for the participants to showcase their talents, techniques

and flair of dancing skills. The dance performances were

also organized by the classes D.EL.ED 1 st year, 2 nd year

and D.P.S.E 1 st year, 2 nd year.

All the participants were in sequined and coloured costumes

at their impressive best on the stage to display talents and

skills on the themes “Women Empowerment” and

“Patriotism”. The event came to an end with the distribution

of lucky draw prizes to one of the trainees from each class.


PICNIC TO ADVENTURE ISLAND

Trips and excursions are meticulously planned to add fun &

enthusiasm. These trips give a much-needed break from the

hectic daily schedule and an opportunity for the facilitators &

learners to bond with each other. R.K.T.T.I organized a picnic

for trainees to Adventure Island on 14 th December, 2019. It is an

amusement and theme park in New Delhi, which have lots of

fabulous rides. The trainees enjoyed themselves in the buses.

They sang and danced energetically all along. On reaching the

picnic spot trainees were welcomed by brilliant “MAD SHOW”

which include magic, acrobatics and magnificent dance shows.

Other than this there was also a live stunt show in Bollywood

style. Trainees were overjoyed by the sight of numerous swings.

The park also had water rides such as the splash down, sea

horse, splash dunk and the rain dance. The trainees boarded

the bus at 3:30 P.M. sharp though they wanted to spend some

more time at the spot but had to leave with the everlasting

memories.


LOHRI CELEBRATION

Lohri marks the culmination of winter and is celebrated every

year all over India on 13th of January, a day before Makar

Sankranti. R.K.T.T.I organised a small function of Lohri. The

chief guests, Mr. I.P Aggarwal (Chairman, Triveni Educational

& Social Welfare Society), Mrs. Kanta Aggarwal (Director

R.K.T.T.I), Dr. Mamta Aggarwal (Principal R.K.S) & Mrs.

Seema Sehgal (Principal R.K.T.T.I) were present during the

celebration. The whole staff of R.K.T.T.I was the part of the

celebration and the trainees of all the four classes D.EL.ED (1 st

& 2 nd year) and D.P.S.E (1 st & 2 nd year) gave their spectacular

dance performance on Punjabi songs and sayings after which the

bonfire was lit up by Mr. I.P Aggarwal & Mrs. Kanta

Aggarwal .

At the end, prasad of popcorn & revri was distributed to all while

circling round the bonfire.

With the grace of God, the festival was celebrated with a lot of

happiness & enthusiasm.


REPUBLIC DAY

On the auspicious morning of 26 th January, 2020. Ramakrishna

Teacher Training Institute celebrated the 71 st Republic Day with

gaiety and patriotic fervor. On this occasion, the trainees extended

a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests for ‘Flag

Hoisting Ceremony’. The guests were Mr. I.P Aggarwal

(Chairman Triveni Educational & Social Welfare Society), Mrs.

Kanta Aggarwal (Director R.K.T.T.I), Dr S.K Bhatia (Chairman

R.K.T.T.I) and Mrs. Seema Sehgal (Principal R.K.T.T.I). For this

special day, our institute had planned number of fascinating

programmes that won the hearts of the guests. Trainees performed

with full dedication that transformed the playground into Mini

Rajpath depicting their feeling of patriotism towards nation. They

proved that they are sovereign, democratic and republic citizens

of 21 st century. The day was further enlivened by inspiring words of

the Chairman, Sh. I.P Aggarwal who motivated the trainees to

uphold the honor, integrity, uniqueness & diversity of their cultural

country & identify themselves as true Indians.


REMINISCENCE

THE ALUMNI REUNION

Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute conducted

‘Reminiscence’ Alumni Reunion Meet on 2 nd February,

2020 in the Auditorium of MERI, Janakpuri. It was a grand

trio celebration of Alumni Meet, Freshers’ welcome and the

title ceremony.

The guests were Mr. I.P Aggarwal (Chairman, Triveni

Educational & Social Welfare Society), Dr. S.K Bhatia

(Chairman R.K.T.T.I), Mrs. Kanta Aggarwal (Director

R.K.T.T.I), Mr. Lalit Aggarwal (Vice President, MERI group

of institutions), Dr. Mamta Aggarwal (Principal R.K.S) &

Mr. S.K Aggarwal (CFO, MERI Group of Institutes).

The occasion was graced by Alumni ranging across various

pass out batches of both D.EL.ED & D.P.S.E.

All the dignitaries and Alumni were felicitated with floral

welcome. The programme further proceeded with lighting of

lamp by the distinguished chief guests. The trainees

welcomed the guests and alumni with their mesmerizing

singing performance and Ganesh Vandana to welcome the

gathering and seek the blessings of God. Then the Principal,

Mrs. Seema Sehgal addressed the gathering with her

compassionate words. She welcomed all the guests and also

highlighted the achievements of the Institute of the previous

academic years. Later alumni were honored with mementos

and blessed by the honorable chief guest Mr. I.P Aggarwal,

who showered his blessings with his words of wisdom and

his constructive advice. He motivated all the students with his

speech.


TITLE CEREMONY

Afterwards Classical & western fusion dance made the

event more astonished. Then the certificates were

distributed to the pass-out batch (session 2017-2019) by

Vice President (MERI College), Mr. Lalit Aggarwal.

The event was then continued with the Title Ceremony

for the selected pupil teachers of the final year. All the

title winners were felicitated by Dr. S.K Bhatia, who also

blessed our pupil teachers for their bright & happy future

with his guiding words.

The programme then proceeded towards Freshers’

Felicitation Ceremony. The Judges of Freshers’ Ceremony

Competition, Ms. Tusharika and Ms. Harpreet announced

the names of the winners.

PUNJABI DANCE & FASHION SHOW

The event was proceeded by the lovely Punjabi dance

Performance by the Pupil teachers and some fun & frolic

games conducted by Ms. Kiran and Ms. Tusharika along

with pupil teachers. The day ended with a startling

Fashion Show on the theme SAVE EARTH presented by

trainees and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Yamini

from D.P.S.E 2 nd Year to conclude for the day.

At last, the delicious lunch and dance on DJ was enjoyed

by everyone including the trainees and the faculty. The

event was a great success with the never-ending support

and estimable presence of all.


PICNIC TO PRATAPGARH FARMS

R.K.T.T.I organized “Learning Outside Classroom”, an

outdoor picnic on 18 th February, 2020 to Pratapgarh Farms, a

place full of adventure, learning & fun amid the rolling green

farmlands in Jhajjar, Haryana. Upon reaching the place,

trainees witnessed a very serene place with lush green field, funfilled

activities and pure rural food. The trainees were served

delicious breakfast which was in the form of Buffet, tea, snacks,

jalebi etc. They enjoyed a host of activities & rides such as

Camel ride, Bullock-cart ride, Tug of war, Mud-bath, Kite

flying etc. After enjoying these activities, the trainees headed for

the lunch & many other mouth-watering dishes were available

throughout. Many of the trainees got attracted to the rural market

which had Haat for Bangles, colourful footwears & handicraft

products. All the trainees moved their legs on the beats of

Bollywood songs & came back very bonded, enthusiastic and

happily at around 5P.M.

R.K.T.T.I organized farewell party on 14 th March, 2020

where trainees of both D.El.Ed & D.P.S.E 1 st year bid

farewell to the outgoing trainees of D.El.Ed & D.P.S.E 2 nd

year with great enthusiasm & keenness. Function began

with a floral welcome of chief guests by the Principal, Mrs.

Seema Sehgal. The guests were Mr. I.P Aggarwal

(Chairman, Triveni Educational & Social Welfare Society),

Mrs. Kanta Aggarwal (Director R.K.T.T.I), Dr. S.K

Bhatia (Chairman R.K.T.T.I) & Dr. Mamta Aggarwal

(Principal R.K.S).

It was then followed by a fun & frolic programme. which

consisted of various dance & drama performances. The

juniors greeted their seniors with a wonderful farewell song.

It was a moment of reliving the good memories the had of

their companions & teachers.

Then the principal, Mrs. Seema Sehgal in her speech

wished good luck to the trainees for their future.

ART & CRAFTWORK SHOP

BY PIDILITE FEVICRYL

Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute organized a

workshop on “Art & Craft” from “Pidilite Fevicryl” which

was the five-day workshop started from 8.07.2019 to

12.07.2019. The workshop was intended to rekindle one’s

passion for Art & Craft and unleashing their creativity to the

fullest. The workshop introduced the concept that crafting can

be purposeful, creative and practical process of giving form

to ideas. The session was commenced with the introduction of

certain colors and their usage including the scope of learning

“Art & Craft” for the trainees by the resource person “Mrs.

Hema Mehra”. The workshop was participative in nature. The

trainees learned “Dabu Printing”, “Blue Pottery”, “Minakari

Painting”, “Tissue Art”, etc. followed by the making of

optimum use of colors. The workshop was made successful under

the guidance of Mrs. Seema Sehgal (Principal R.K.T.T.I) & all the

faculty members who letting the trainee teachers to enhance their

experience, skill & attitude by arranging such an interactive,

creative & valuable workshop.


CANVAS PAINTING WORKSHOP

BY CAMLIN

Art is an expression of our thoughts, emotions and desires. It is

about sharing the way we experience the world. In R.K.T.T.I,

we empower our trainees with their powerful medium of

expression. Renowned artists are invited as resource persons for

workshops in our institute.

R.K.T.T.I organised a free hand canvas painting workshop by

camlin on 5 th october, 2019. In this workshop, trainees learned

to make free hand canvas painting by using acrylic colors

which involved the active participation by all. It had been a

great success under the guidance of Mrs. Kanta Aggarwal

(Director R.K.T.T.I), Mrs. Seema Sehgal (Principal R.K.T.T.I)

& all the faculty members. It also involved certificate

distribution at the end.

It helps in creating interest among trainees to learn a new

technique or medium in Art & enhance their creativity by

listening to the experiences of the artist.


RALLY ON ‘SAY NO TO CRACKERS

AND PLASTIC’

Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute organized a rally

on 5 th October, 2019 to spread awareness on saying no to

crackers and plastic in which all the staff members and

trainees of both the classes D.EL.ED & D.P.S.E took part

enthusiastically.

The Prime motive of the rally was to make the trainees aware

about the harmful effects of crackers and plastic on

environment as well as on human health.

The trainees made beautiful banners, placards and raised

slogans like ‘Say No to Crackers’, don’t be drastic; say

“NO” to Plastic etc. to cultivate a sense of duty towards their

environment and society.

The Principal, Mrs. Seema Sehgal appreciated the efforts of

the staff members & trainees in raising awareness on these

important environmental issues.

The Rally was aimed at enlightening the students on

celebrating the festival of Diwali with diyas and minimizing

the use of plastic in their daily lives.


PAPER ART WORKSHOP

The paper folding craft was not only a fun filled

experience, but it also proved to be a valuable means to

develop artistic skills in the individuals.

R.K.T.T.I organised Paper Origami Art workshop on 28

December, 2019. Origami is known as the art of paper

folding. It encourages the use of waste paper to create a

craft. Mr. Sunil Roy conducted a 2-hour session where he

created magic with paper by making origami like paper

dolls, birds, flowers etc. Trainees were excited on every

origami made by him. He encouraged everyone by sharing

his experiences which made the session lively. It was a full

house session with active participation by all the trainees.

Trainees got encouraged to try new origami at home &

make their own creations. This art form engages trainees

and enhances spatial perception, logical & sequential

thinking as well.


WORKSHOP ON

Optimizing Students’ All-Round Development

Dr. S.K. Bhatia, Chairman R.K.T.T.I, conducted a

workshop on “Optimizing Students’ all-round Development”

on 19 February, 2020. The predominance of the workshop

was to innovate and inculcate positivity among trainees to

make optimal use of their potential in order to excel in

academics. The highlight and emphasis of the workshop was

to ignite passion among the learners to become high-end

achievers so that they not only bring laurels for themselves

but also win accolades for their alma-matter. In order to get

positive results, the approach should be cohesive and

collaborative. Dr. S.K. Bhatia also urged the faculty of the

institute to give wholehearted support in transforming the

dreams of academic excellence into reality. The focus of the

workshop was to create passion, dynamism and industrious

approach among learners. The workshop was lively and

spirited.


WORKSHOP ON MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE

A workshop on Multiple Intelligence was taken by Dr. Amit

Ahuja of GGSIP University. He started the topic by telling

about the theory of Multiple Intelligence in the audio-visual

room on 21 st February, 2020. The workshop was started with a

video giving a brief insight on the 8 intelligences advocated by

specialist, “HOWARD GARDNER”. The teachers were briefed

about the Multiple Intelligence theory with the help of a power

point presentation. For many years, teachers recognized that the

traditional measures of Intelligence, such as IQ test, were

reasonably good at predicting a student’s school performance.

Howard Gardner, suggests that each person possesses 8 Multiple

Intelligence or ways in which individuals respond in different

ways . The workshop concluded with an interactive activity for

teachers to help them understand the application of 8 Multiple

Intelligence in the classroom. Overall, it was a highly interactive

and application-based workshop.


WORKSHOP ON DIVERSITY IN CLASSROOM

A workshop in Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute was

organized on 25 th February, 2020 on ‘Diversity in

classroom’ by Professor Fauzia Khan.

The workshop focused on the role of the Pupil teachers to

know about different diversities prevailing in the classroom

i.e. Caste, Creed, Colour, Region, Religion, Language etc.

and also the different abilities of children such as different

IQ level, different disability etc. also come under the

diversity in the classroom.

The workshop began with a discussion including all the

Pupil Teachers and Teachers. In discussion, example of real

class was given by the teacher. One student was having

low vision disability and she faced many difficulties during

studies. But the Teachers motivated her at every step. She

was also provided audio recorded and provision of front

sitting.

From this workshop, all the Teachers and Pupil Teachers

were motivated and took a keen interest in the workshop.

WORKSHOP ON WAY TO HAPPINESS

Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute organized a

workshop on ‘WAY TO HAPPINESS’ on 26 th February,

2020 by Mr. Pramod Kumar Aggarwal in order to

emphasize the role of happiness in an individual’s life. The

main attraction of the workshop was the short movie

depicting moral values. It focused on the importance of

happiness in everyone’s life in today’s materialistic and

complex world. During the workshop, he promoted the fact

that inner satisfaction can be achieved only by the way of

happiness & not through monetary terms.

Efforts were made in order to inculcate the moral values in

the students and to allow them live a peaceful & satisfactory

life. Spiritual & psychological satisfaction was also given

The workshop was considered to be very fruitful for the

teachers as well as trainees.


WORKSHOP ON SELF DEFENCE

A one-day workshop on Self-defence was conducted in

R.K.T.T.I on 3 rd March, 2020. The workshop was organized by

physical education department to make the girls self-reliant.

The workshop was meant exclusively for girls, where 76

participants received hands-on training and learned various

techniques of Self-defence, prominent ones being hand blade

neck strike, finger thrust on face, front kick from ankle,

knee kick on growing & outer thigh, basic punch and wrist

lock. The Principal, Mrs. Seema Sehgal ignited the trainees’

minds with her words and inspired them to be fearless in their

lives. She emphasized the need of Self-defence to pave way for

success. Also, she stressed on managing life in a healthy manner

which includes due importance to food, exercise, nutrition and

education. Mrs. Meenu Monga coordinated the workshop and

said, “In Modern world, girls are at par with boys in every field

and they should understand the importance of Self-defence,

learn ways and lead their lives confidently.


WORKSHOP ON COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

VS PEER TO PEER LEARNING

A workshop on Collaborative learning vs Peer-to-Peer

Learning was conducted in Ramakrishna Teacher Training

Institute by Prof. Bharti Baveja on 3 rd March, 2020.

The workshop was very interactive. She explained that learning

has many benefits such as students can develop their oral

communication and leadership skills,it helps to increase

students’self-esteem, improves students’ attitudes towards

team work& so on. Collaborative approach often works well

after introducing the class to a new concept and Peer-to-Peer

learning is often an effective way of managing students with

different interests. All the trainees shared their views on the

topic. At the end Prof. Bharti pointed out that when it comes to

deciding whether to use collaborative or peer-to-peer learning

method, the important thing is choosing the right approach

according to the lesson and the pupils. Teachers’ should provide

minimum direction to pupils and motivate them for peer or

collaborative learning.


FIRE MOCK DRILL

The impacts of natural and human-induced hazards are

increasing with population growth and climate change causing

immense losses to the society. Besides their impact on the

society and infrastructures, disasters are also one of the biggest

challenges to the goal of ‘Education for All’.

To educate and train the trainees for unforeseen emergency

situations like fire, Ramakrishna Teacher Training Institute

conducted a mock exercise and evacuation drill on 4 th March,

2020. All the teacher trainees participated in the drill

accompanied by the Principal, Mrs. Seema Sehgal and the

faculty members. A demonstration of using fire safety

equipment was conducted by the experts from the Department

of Fire and Emergency services to sensitize the staff and

trainees about life saving and rescue techniques in case of fire. A

Mock Drill is a participatory method to practice the safetyrelated

measures & evacuation of a building during an

emergency situation. For fire-related evacuation mock drills, the

fire-alarm was activated and the building was evacuated as

though a real fire had occurred.
