Leah Osann (THEY/SHE), aka Loxyfine, was born

in 1999. They entered the 2000s in the age of

Apple, Microsoft, and a directly correlated revival

in the Y2K futurist movement. The idea of this

futurist revival comes throughout the decades,

as seen in the 1930s with prevalent figures such

as Walt Disney creating Epcot center and “future

land” and the 1960s and 1970s with prevalent

space-age cinema. What sets the Y2K scene apart

from the rest is two aspects: 1. Its strong ties to

our current age, and 2. the turn of a Millenium.

Fruits is a fashion magazine from

Harajuku, Japan i n the late 90s and

early 00s. In it, they feature some

of the most pronounced and funky

outfits of the era via catching regular

people on the street . Cyber fashion,

anime-inspired hair, the age of post

punk, and rainbow beads were only a

portion of what you would see in the

golden age of Harajuku streetwear.
