The Coolest Place on the Planet’s
Guide to your Donegal Hen Party!
If you fancy a hen with a bit of
everything then listen up!
Donegal Town
I love none other than Donegal Town
for a big night out. This wee town has
it all; a fun holiday atmosphere with an
abundance of places to stay, eat and
drink. The Gateway Lodge is great
to stay in and has fun veranda type
apartments just a 5 minute walk from
the centre of the action. It also has a
fab restaurant called Blás.
The Abbey Hotel and Central Hotel,
right in the centre of the action (on
The Diamond), are another great shout
and believe me you will more than
likely end up in The Abbey so why not
stay there! It also has a really fabulous
restaurant so can be a one-stop-shop.
Other places worth a visit are The
House Gastropub for food, drink & a
bit of craic. Don’t forget to try their
cocktail menu, definitely one of the best
Espresso Martinis around! Quaywest
down by the harbour is fab for seafood
and to watch the sunset along the bay.
McCafferty’s Bar is brilliant for live
music and to get you in the mood for
Sky nightclub in The Abbey!

Activity Hens
If you’re looking for activities, then
there are LOADS!! You can head out on
the Baywater Bus, a boat that leaves
from the harbour and brings you all
around Donegal Bay, they have music
and drink on board so a great way to
see the area with some fun added in.
You can also take a short trip to
Rossnowlagh beach (10 minute drive)
and go out paddle boarding or surfing
with Rossnowlagh Surf School. If you’re
feeling even more adventurous there is
horse riding on the beach or you can
get the hiking boots on and get up into
the Bluestack Mountains (great way to
clear the head).
Water
Adventure!
Why not do Paddle & Prosecco with
the lovely Máiréad at Gola Adventures.
You get to kayak, paddle board and
have the most amazing picnic on the
beach with lots of bubbles. Stay at
The Ivy in Gweedore, a lovely B&B/
restaurant, get yourself out to Teach
Mhici for some pizza & cocktails and
back to Sean Ógs for a dance.
You can also visit the bad Eddie
By Erin McGinty
shipwreck on the beach below the B&B
- a stunning beach to walk & be sure
to grab a sunrise on the way home! The
backdrop of Errigal is breathtaking.
Inishowen
has it all!
Fancy venturing into the most northerly
part of Ireland? Moville and Buncrana
are great options. In Moville stay and
eat at The Foyle Hotel. Go paddle
boarding or kayaking along the coast
with Inish Adventures. There’s lots
of great pubs and coffee shops with
a fab coastal walk to Greencastle.
In Buncrana stay at The Inishowen
Gateway, perfect for a group.
They have a fab spa if you fancy getting
pampered. To eat, Ubiquitous on the
Main Street is delicious and O’Flahertys
pub next door is great for a cocktail
and a dance. Inish adventures do a
stunning kayak trip around the caves at
Fort Dunree (10 minute drive) or Crana
Stables go horse riding on the beach
here too.
Donegal really has it all!
Enjoy xxx
