Burnside High School principal Phil Holstein supports the initiative given traffic in the area is often busy. The upgrades will be completed in approximately three weeks. Meanwhile, safety upgrades at the Aorangi Rd and Condell Ave intersection have now started. Improvements include the installation of a pedestrian island, give way signs, line marking and kerb adjustments. The changes come after residents raised safety concerns about a lack of safe pedestrian crossing opportunities at the intersection. Construction will be completed in about three weeks.
