Distribution<br />
After food is processed, food is distributed to<br />
consumers through several distribution channels. The<br />
role of the distributors is to supply food to the consumers.<br />

and businesses within Erie County and include entities such<br />

convenience stores restaurants and c<strong>at</strong>erers. All businesses<br />
where food is sold directly to consumers are part of this<br />
stage of the food system. Food distribution also includes<br />
institutions—both public and priv<strong>at</strong>e—th<strong>at</strong> provide food<br />
to their members and p<strong>at</strong>rons, such as hospitals or schools.
