PRESENTATION TO NGEE ANN
POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS

As part of the final year project for Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Diploma in Tourism and Resort
Management, students worked on an Orchard Road precinct management project after attending
a presentation by ORBA Senior Manager of Place Management Mr Bobby Lu and Manager of
Place Management Ms Kris Sim in April 2019.
Their assignment was to come up with events and activities to transform Orchard Road into a
livelier street through pop-up spaces in the four sub-precincts to entice more visitors and spending
on our Great Street. The four-month-long project involved in-depth research and ended with a
presentation on their findings and proposal.
VISIT BY FUTIAN
DELEGATES
10 - 13 July 2019
Chinese delegates led by the Shenzhen City Futian District, Culture, Broadcast and Television,
Tourism and Sports Bureau together with other trade partners, Gemdale Dabaihui Commercial Co
Ltd and EEKA Fashion Group, visited Orchard Road in July 2019.
ORBA Chairman Mr Mark Shaw, Executive Director Mr Steven Goh, Senior Manager of Place
Management Mr Bobby Lu and Senior Manager of Advertising and Promotions Ms Juliana Fan
represented ORBA in hosting the delegates during their visit.
Mr Goh delivered a speech to these delegates and shared ORBA’s experience in the
development of the precinct. The Association organised a business exchange with various
Orchard Road stakeholders including Metro Holdings, Wild Honey, ION Orchard and Common
Man Coffee Roasters.
ORBA and the delegates from Futian, Shenzhen, also signed an MOU to affirm the strong working
relationship between them.

ORBA Vice-Chairman Mrs Wong Sioe Hong, Executive Director Mr Steven Goh, Senior Manager
of Place Management Mr Bobby Lu and Senior Manager of Advertising and Promotions Ms Juliana
Fan visited Futian in September 2019.
The team from ORBA was given a tour of some upcoming developments in Futian, and Mr Goh
shared the history and development of Orchard Road with Mr Huang Wei, Mayor of Futian District
Government, Shenzhen, and other government officials.
The team also attended the International Fashion Strategic Committee Ceremony while they were
in Futian. During the event, Mr Goh was appointed as a member of the committee for three years
with effect from 20 September 2019.
