Welcome to our “Spreading Smiles Across the Miles” virtual fundraising event!
Usually, I would be addressing you from behind a podium on a Wednesday evening during our Annual Cocktail
Party. But, like so much else in 2020, this year’s fundraising campaign is much different. Still, I hope you find your
experience engaging, and I hope you are moved to support HealthLink Dental Clinic’s work.
Our work – providing free dental care to disadvantaged, working adults and veterans – continues.
Despite having to close our doors for three months…
Despite having to develop new policies and procedures to keep our patients, volunteers, and staff safe…
Despite a number of unbudgeted expenses to procure PPE and new equipment…
Our work continues because supporters like you have confidence in our organization and an unrelenting
willingness to give a helping hand to your neighbors in need.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 to directly support our free dental clinic. We have been encouraged by the generosity
of our event sponsors and donors already, but we need your help to cross the finish line.
In an already difficult year, we expect the need for our no-cost oral health services to grow. I hope you will
continue your support of our mission and help us end 2020 stronger and more resilient than ever before.

I want to thank everyone for supporting tonight’s Spreading Smiles Across the Miles, HealthLink’s virtual version of
our annual Anniversary Cocktail Gala. This year, even more than others in the past, your support is essential. The
two driving factors that allow us to treat our patients, who are veterans and low-income wage earners, are
financial resources and volunteer support. We cannot do without either.
I am proud of how we have been able to adapt the protocols and procedures of our clinic to protect our patients,
staff, and volunteers from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic while continuing the important work of our
organization.
I want to thank our staff and volunteer host committee that took the challenge and created this unique virtual
fundraising event. On behalf of the HealthLink Board of Directors, I pay tribute to our award winners: Daniel &
Eleanora Cheney, Dr. Arnold Pfannenstiel, and the Montgomery Bucks Dental Society.
