For this Year of the Comic, the “Machines
à Bulles” exhibition showcases innovative
forms of comics through 24 works illustrating
the new reading experiences offered by
digital technology.
The Digital allows to blur the lines between
all disciplines and to rethink the relationship between
authors and readers. These new types of narratives
and ways of reading open new literary
creation opportunities and change the relationship
to the book, the paper format and the digital
“machines”.
A grumpy little old man lives in his little house in
the woods by the river. Every day is the same
and he likes it this way until one day, a magical
creature leaps into his world and everything
changes! This beautifully designed puppetry
work performed without words to an enchanting
musical score, reveals a storybook world where
rivers sing, trees laugh, and curious dragonflies
come to visit. With its themes of friendship,
communication, play, adjusting to change, Old Man
and the River is perfect for the youngest theatregoer.

T his talk for young people shows the different stages of
creating a scientific video that anyone could understand.
The emphasis is on researching the information, on the
quality of sources, and on the difference between an
opinion and a fact.
En plein dans l’oeil offers a poetic, playful and very
current reading of Goerges Méliès’ universe, interpreted
by three musicians in time with the imagery. With
various instruments and an original orchestra, they
bring a breath of fresh air to the fantasy and genius
of the father of the seventh art and special effects.
‘’These films work wonderfully if judged only by the
children’s spontaneous outbursts of laughter.’’

W ho is this Grande Dame that invites us to the game of
creation? Magician or deity, the big ELLE (SHE) creates
as she breathes. From darkness and void, she sets about
making a new world.
Then appear a number of creatures that have to learn
to live together, each one looking to find their place
in regards to their dreams… But is there a place for
everyone in Another World (Un Autre Monde)? A fable
of life that invites us to reflect on the
world of differences that surrounds us.
T he main objective of this workshop is to provoke a
mindful encounter between the children and the
creative process of an artist. Through tales of
sea voyage and islands, the children
will be able to discover some
geography, the territories, as well as the social and
environmental situations on the Îles-de-la-Madeleine
and St-Pierre-et-Miquelon. The workshop
is also an invitation to dive into the world of
creation with an engaged practicing artist, in an
atmosphere of mobilising and inspiring exchange.

Molière was contemporary!
DO YOU REALLY KNOW MOLIÈRE?
André Nerman, actor and stage director
‘’T hrough decades, we’ve seen many interpretations
of Molière’s theater so that now it is somewhat of a
relief to see a return to tradition with period costumes
on stage. But in reality, the modernization
of Molière’s theater is inevitable. This is of
course because as much as Molière’s pieces
were embedded in his given era, his artistic
genius could be observed in the universal
message in his critical observations of his
contemporaries.
I will talk to you about his life, his art, and the
remarkable ways in which his plays have been
interpreted by theater directors today. We will see
that regardless of which reading or which point of
vue is adopted, Molière’s words continue to speak
to us, bringing together a number of generations. ‘’
Mad Men with Molière
A MIX BETWEEN CLASSIC AND MODERNITY
Compagnie Caravague & André Nerman
M olière was an observer of his epoch. However much
rooted in their times, his characters carry a universal
dimension. These men caught up in their bad habits
yet also in their social positions, their ambitions, their
cowardices, their hypocrisies, their amorous
emotions… are they any different from
those that we rub shoulders with today?
Molière wanted to make honest people
laugh. Today we still laugh at ourselves and
those like us. Were these men of the great
century really much different than us? Through
staging, whilst respecting Molière’s language, we
will attempt to explore these dialogues in the context of
our time.

S t uck in their daily routine, the two cashiers of a
local grocery shop dream of a better life. A life where
everything is possible; where carrots dance, soy sauce
falls in love and the sun has a taste of pineapple.
A life of freedom and synchronized swimming!
Prisoners of a routine they know all too well, these
women present their dreams, their need for acknowledgement,
their aspirations and their desire for
freedom through an epic where even daily objects
escape their daily weariness.
B orn in Kabylia in 1953, Slimane Zeghidour is a French
writer and journalist. After starting out as an illustrator
for Liberation and Pilote in 1974, he decided to
start a career as a writer and big time reporter. The
list of media for which he has worked was quite long:
Le Monde, Le Nouvel Observateur, Télérama, El
Pais... until he became editor-in-chief at TV5 Monde.
Also a well-known author (La Vie quotidienne à
La Mecque, Le Voile et la bannière...), Slimane
Zeghidour will answer your students’ questions about
being a journalist.
