Page 6 CSU to Highlight Community Partnership March 21 As public higher education institutions rely on private support to thrive, CSU Day, set for March 21,emphasizes CSU’s $175 million regional impact and serves to recognize donors who contribute to this impact as well as benefit from it. The event also highlights the 2006-07 Annual Fund, targeting $1.5 million to directly impact students, faculty and staff through measures such as academic and athletic scholarships, new technology, international education and community outreach programs. Themed “Pathways to Success,” this year’s campaign has included cochairs University College Dean Beverly Davis and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Gina Sheeks, who have directed a successful faculty-staff fund drive, said Meri Robinson, director of annual giving and alumni relations. This year’s CSU Day campaign chair, Averett Davis, vice president for corporate banking at Columbus Bank & Trust, is spearheading an effort to raise a targeted $80,000 for CSU Day, supplementing the Annual Fund. In its 13th year, CSU Day will launch at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 21 from the Elizabeth Bradley Turner Center, as volunteers will spread through the community to place red, white and blue yard signs proclaiming “We Are Partners With Columbus State University” in front of CSU-supporting businesses and donors. Campus volunteers are welcome to participate. For more information, call Annual Fund Coordinator Kelley Binion at 706-562-1596.
