Cartoon World Challenge #mycovidincomics

In July 2020 the online
course Micro-history and techniques
of comics was held by the cartoonist
Claudio Calia with more than ninety participants
from 11 countries in 4 continents: Tunisia,
Morocco, Libya, Iraq, Guatemala, Ecuador,
Kenya, Tanzania , Ethiopia, Italy, and
Mozambique.
The path developed with lesson about the history
of comics, accompanied by exercises,
moments of web live meeting and constant
interaction with the trainer.
An interesting workshop that led the participants
to develop a comic dedicated to telling
the present and the future over time of pandemic.

cartoonists, he published for BeccoGiallo:

cominciare a leggere i fumetti (2016). To
make the book Kurdistan. Dispacci dal
fronte iracheno (2017) was in Iraq beside
Un ponte per..., italian NGO.
In 2019 a new edition, revised and correct,
of his Dossier TAV. Una questione
democratica is released always with BeccoGiallo.
In english language is available his book
Antonio Negri. Interview in Venice (Red
Quill, 2012) while in Spanish Northpole
Alaska 99705 written by Luana Vergari
(Gallo Nero, 2010).
Since 2016 he has held comic courses in
Iraq, Morocco and Tunisia, in collaboration
with the YaBasta - Caminantes Association,
Un ponte per... and CEFA Onlus.
Collaborator of the comics magazine Linus,
he is president of the association
Oblò - APS, created to promote independent
comics.

As mentioned,
the workshop
with students from
four Kenyan prisons
went through a tortuous
process due to the specific
difficulties of the situation.
In spite of everything,
the students worked, watched the
lessons, did the first exercises,
which we present to you in this quick
