The first half of the Autumn Term 2020
has seen a vibrant return to classroom,
laboratories, studios, rehearsal spaces and
the theatre at Kew House School. Despite
the restrictions put in place to mitigate the
Covid-19 risks, pupils and staff have been
able to engage with the full range of learning
and activities that one would expect.
With visitors to the school severely limited, we
thought you would appreciate a glimpse of the
“new normal” way of working. Throughout the first
term I have been impressed with the spirit with
which all members of the community have engaged
with their learning, whilst remembering the stay
safe messages regarding handwashing, social
distancing and face coverings in certain areas.
I hope that these images will give you a sense of
the joy of learning that has been, and will continue
to be, one of the key characteristics of Kew House
School that I have come to value over these first
weeks of my time as Headmaster. I am extremely
grateful for the support shown to all of us on
the staff of Kew House, from parents and pupils
at this time and look forward to creating more
great memories as we head towards Christmas.
Vision
Worms can see more colours than us,
And I know it doesn’t seem like something to make a fuss,
But just imagine all those colours they see,
We could not even imagine what those colours could be.
Worms can see more colours than us,
A small creature that most people step on.
Our big, boisterous feet taking the life of a small innocent creature,
And we don’t even think about it.
Worms can see more colours than us
They see a world that we can’t imagine!
A world of colours we could not fathom.
There are things happening that go unnoticed,
Many things that humans have missed,
Small things in nature for example.
Just think of the power a whole species has
And maybe even more species have this,
So even to humans there are things that we can miss,
So, to quote Dr Suess ‘Even if you can’t see them at all, a person is
a person no matter how small.’
