Design Features 


Full Face Panel Design 

SICO’s Room Maker Wallbed features a full face panel so the bottom of the bed 

becomes a wall enclosure when the bed is in the upright position. With a full face 

panel design there is no need for unsightly and awkward bi-fold closet doors. 

Box Spring & Mattress 

Every Room Maker Wallbed features a conventional box spring and innersprung mattress, 

which offers the sleeping comfort and back support of a real bed. 

Sizes 

Room Maker Wallbeds are available in Double and Double XL. 

Design Options 

Room Maker Wallbeds can be installed within a simple and economical stud and drywall 

recess. 

Cabinet Options 

The Wallbed cabinet recess is fabricated using high pressure laminates. 

Padded Headboard 

The Room Maker Wallbed’s durable headboard is ergonomically positioned for reading 

and watching television in bed. When the Room Maker Wallbed is folded into the 

wall the headboard automatically folds over the pillows for easy storage. 

Ease of Use 

Every Room Maker Wallbed features an out-of-sight mechanism and can be easily 

raised with just finger-tip pressure.

Installation 


Full Installation Service Available 

SICO’s trained Service Engineers provide a full on-site installation service. An 

inspection visit will be made to advise on the best installation methods for your 

establishment at a fixed cost of £155 plus VAT (refundable on receipt of order). 

During the inspection visit our Engineer will establish the construction of the site, 

access and requirement of hire equipment, condition of flooring, location of services 

(cables, water pipes etc.) and any additional labour required. A standard installation 

charge is £330 plus VAT per Wallbed (multi-site installation charges are available 

on request). The installation itself is under warranty for 1 year. 

Reduce the worry and increase the life of your Wallbeds by taking out a 

preventive maintenance agreement. For further information please refer to the 

Fixed Price Preventive Maintenance Agreement forms. 

Self-Installation Options 

Room Maker Wallbeds can be floor or wall mounted (using the optional wall installation 

kit). Every Room Maker Wallbed is supplied with the hardware to install the 

Wallbed frame and mechanism onto a concrete slab, screed, other sub-flooring or 

onto floor joists. Some flooring may require additional hardware. 

Expansion Bolts

A 559mm enclosure depth will allow for pillow 

storage.

The Room Maker Wallbed features SICO’s unique Coil Compression Power-Pack system. 

Unlike other Wallbed systems that use a few small helicoil springs, SICO’s coil compression 

Power-Pack system features commercial 

grade #5160 steel coils that compress when the 

bed is lowered to the floor and expand back to 

the original “resting” position when the bed is 

stored in the upright position, thus ensuring that 

the coil is not fatigued by stretching. 

The colour-coded Power-Pack coils are used in varying combinations based on the 

weight of the Wallbed. The tension of the coils and the combination of coils used are 

calibrated at SICO’s factory based on: 

- The bed size 

- The weight of the bed face panel 

- The weight of the box spring and mattress 

With this technology, SICO Wallbeds can handle heavier loads than standard Wallbeds 

and still operate with finger-tip pressure. Micro-adjustment capability to fine-tune coil 

tension during installation. 

Adjustment bolts allow for perfect wall alignment with cabinets and precise coil tension 

adjustment. 

SICO’s Compression Coil Power-Pack has been cycle tested to 27.4 years of daily use. 

The only Wallbed designed, engineered and manufactured for the tough commercial 

market.

Material & Construction 

Bed Frame - 


- Made of 16 gauge (1.6mm) cold rolled steel tubing for maximum durability. 

- Electric arc welded construction for strength. 

- Rubber corners for resiliency and safety. 

- Adjustment bolts allow for perfect wall alignment and precise coil tension 

adjustment. 

- Electrostatically sprayed with a baked on powder coat finish available in 3 

standard colours that are dependent on the laminate option that you choose. 

Headboard / Padboard - 

The headboard is constructed of 19mm particle board with a durable cloth covering. 

The headboard is designed so that it can be installed in 473mm, 559mm or 

deeper bed recess. 

The Padboard is constructed of a 13mm foam on 13mm plywood. When bed is 

closed the padboard automatically folds over pillows to keep them in place while the 

bed is in the upright position. 

Linkage Assembly - 

- Linkage assemblies are designed to accommodate both 559mm and 473mm 

recess installations. 

- The Wallbed is supplied configured for a 559mm deep recess, which will allow 

for pillow storage when the bed is folded into recess. The bed can be converted 

to a 473mm deep recess configuration if a narrower space is required. No pillow 

storage will be available at narrower set-up.

When installing the Eurobed next to a partition, portable wall or other non load bearing 

wall, a floor installation may be desirable by using the included base-plate and 

bracket.

Installation 

EUROBED PIVOTS OFF THE SIDE CABINETS - 

A steel attachment plate is secured to each of the vertical panels. The bed mechanism 

is mounted into these attachment plates and the Eurobed pivots off the side 

cabinets. 

ADJUSTMENT BOLTS - 

raise or lower the mechanism in the mechanism plate 

which, in turn, raises or lowers the bed frame in the 

recess to ensure even spacing at the top of the recess. 


Recess depth for the Eurobed is 457mm 

standard and 432mm minimum. 

There is no pillow storage with either recess. 

The recess must be constructed before the 

bed is installed. 

A minimum of 19mm plywood is required for 

vertical panels. 

Plasterboard construction is not allowable as a 

support for the attachment plates and wallbed.

Eurobed Mechanism 


SICO’S Eurobed Mechanism 

Unlike other Wallbed systems that use a few small helicoil springs attached to the 

floor, SICO’s Eurobed uses up to 9 factory calibrated heavy duty springs in each 

mechanism. 

Every Eurobed uses two lifting mechanisms which are fully 

housed inside the bed frame so that no mechanical parts 

are seen during normal operation. 

This aluminium housing unit provides safety from moving 

parts. 

Fully adjustable bed mechanism allows for precise tension adjustments. 

SICO’s commercial grade extension springs are manufactured from 

heat treated alloy steel and are engaged using SICO’s unique cam 

action mechanism. 

When the Eurobed is pulled down, the pivot shaft rotates, which 

engages the chain. 

The chain link is attached to the springs either directly or with 

a slide bar. The slide bar strategically engages the springs 

throughout the entire pivot motion of the bed, which allows 

for greater control, safety and ease of use. 

Eurobed springs are colour coded to indicate spring 

tension. 

Spring combinations are determined based on the 

face panel and bedding weight. 

Springs are attached to the channel bracket, which is 

attached to the adjustment bolt. 

Adjustment bolts compensate for the weight differences 

in bed faces and mattresses. Spring tension is adjusted 

with a wrench.

Bed Frame - 

The bed frame is constructed from premium strength extruded aluminium for maximum 

durability. 

Bumper Stop - 

This positions the bed so that the frame is flush with the recess when the bed is in 

the upright position. 

Headboard -

rubber padding with a durable cloth covering. SICO’s headboard 

fabric has been chosen for its high quality and rub rating,

• Heavy duty beech and plywood frame. 

• Sofa base is fabricated using conventional springs covered in hessian and 

wrapped in fire retardent foam to form the base of the sofa. 

• No-sag spring seating system. 

• Seat cushions are made of high density foam and fibre wrap. 

• All sofas are constructed using a full front panel below the front of the sofa base. 

• Two over Two cushion design (2 seat cushions / 2 back cushions). 

• Back pillows are fabricated with sectioned inner casing and filled with high 

density fibre. 

• Long-wear arm construction with extra soft foam padding. 

• Extensive choice of sofa fabrics available (please see overleaf for the standard 

fabric choices). 


The fabrics that go into SICO’s bedding and 

sofa construction pass the BS EN 1021:1 and 

BS EN 1021:2 and crib 5 flammability standards.

Preventive Maintenance Agreement

£300 per annum (£60.00 per unit) 

A Sico Europe Limited Fixed Price Preventive Maintenance Agreement includes: 

- Regular peace of mind maintenance carried out by our own specialist team of 

trained Customer Service Engineers 

- Free replacement and repair of all minor parts 

- Refresher training for on-site operators 

- A full, annual report on each unit 

- A generous discount if any major repairs are recommended for units outside their 

warranty period 

- Compliance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Fixed Price Preventive Maintenance Agreement - 

SICO Wallbed 

Terms and Conditions 

1. The agreement is subject to a minimum period of three years. 

2. The agreement is subject to a minimum order value of £87 per annum. 

3. An administrative charge of 25% of the value of one year will be levied should the agreement 

be cancelled within the minimum period. Thirty days written notice is required for cancellation. 

4. Work will be carried out when a Customer Service Engineer is next available in the area. 

Where possible, access will be advised in writing at a mutually agreed time. 

5. Minor repairs cover the checking, adjustment and lubrication of all bolts, fixings, pivots, 

locknuts and other moving parts; checking the condition of the cable, springs and structural 

members and baseplates and fixings; the limited welding of structural and moving parts 

and replacement or minor parts, but not the replacement or repair of springs, cables or 

structural parts. The agreement does not cover the cabinetry or upholstery. 

6. The agreement does not include repairs or replacements that are a result of misuse, abuse 

or lack of maintenance. 

7. A discount of 10% is offered on major repairs on units which are outside of the warranty. 

8. Should the condition of a unit require major repairs, for safety reasons Sico Europe Ltd 

reserves the right to withhold the supply and fitting of minor parts until major repairs are 

completed. 

9. Major repairs are guaranteed for one year from the date of repair. 

10. Major repairs carry a lead time of four weeks for the manufacture of parts, however, where 

repairs are urgent, every effort will be made to restore units to serviceability as soon as 

possible. 

11. Where units are beyond economic restoration, our Regional Sales Manager will contact 

you with a quotation for replacement units and a discount will be offered for units covered 

by a maintenance agreement. 

12. Where a Customer Service Engineer considers that the condition of a unit poses a serious 

threat to the health and safety of either its operator or user, he will advise on-site staff 

immediately. This information will be relayed to the account holder in writing at the earliest 

opportunity. 

13. Should a maintenance visit be required between scheduled maintenance inspections, our 

minimum call out charge with a 10% discount will apply. 

14. Prices are valid for 60 days from the date of quotation. 

15. Prices quoted are for UK mainland only. Prices for overseas maintenance are available on 

application.
