Dear student, teacher, parent or any other interested reader,
This year, a lot has changed. We’ve had online lessons, we started wearing
face masks in school, we learnt everything about Teams and our school
magazine got a new name.
So, welcome to the very first edition of the St. Martin’s Chronicle, the online
school magazine created by TTO students from Sintermeertencollege!
For this first edition, the students from H2AT and V2BT worked really hard as
the Chronicle’s editors in the first period of this school year to write enough
articles to fill a whole magazine, which we are very proud of. You can read
about all different kinds of topics, such as sports, technology, space, news and
even an interview with a teacher from our school.

PELE: Pele was a Brazilian
football player. He was
born on the 23rd of October of
1940. He is still alive, and he
is 79 years old. He played for:
santos from 1956 until 1974 at age
15 and he played for New York
Cosmos from 1975 until 1977. He

Brazilian National team, the first one
was in 1958, the second in 1962 and
the third one in 1970. He won 5
international tournaments 2 times
the intercontinental cup 2 times the
Libertadores cup and 1 time the
super cup of intercontinental

MARADONA: Maradona was an
Argentine football player. He played
for: Napoli 1984-1991, FC Barcelona
1982-1984, CA Boca Juniors 1981-
1082, Sevilla FC 1992-1993 and CA
Newell’s Old Boys 1995-1997. He
was also a coach he coached: Textil
Mandiyu, Racing club, Argentinia, Alwasl,
Deportivo Riestra
(assistant), Fujairah,
Dorados de Sinaloa and
Gymnasia de la
Plata(There he’s still
coaching). he was born in
1960 on the 30th of
October in Lanus Argentina.
His length is 1,65m. he has a
wife named Claudia
Villafane, he has already a
relationship with her since 1984
and he has 2 daughters with
her Dalma and Gianinna. He
also has a knowledge having three
children with another woman. He is
left footed and his shirt number was
10.
JOHAN CRUIJFF: He was a Dutch
football player and later on he was a
coach. He was known as one of the
best players in the world. In 1999 he
was chosen for the IFFHS award of
best player of Europe of the 20th
century. He was born on the 25 of
April in 1947 Amsterdam and he died
on the 24th of march in 2016 in
Barcelona Spain. His husband was
Danny Coster from 1968 until 2016
because he died. His children where
Jordi Cruijff, Suslia cruijff, Chantal
Cruijff. He won the European best
shooter award the Ballon d’Or and
the best player of the Netherlands
ever. He played for Ajax from(1964-
1973) and Barcelona (1973-1978)
and Los Angeles Aztecs (1978-1979)
after that he was coach of Fc
Barcelona.

FRENKIE DE JONG : He is a Dutch
football player he plays as a
midfielder. In July of 2019 he
changed from Ajax to Barcelona. In
2018 he made his debut as an
international player of the Dutch
team. He is born on the 12th of May
1997 he is 23 years old. His length is
1,8 m high. His wife is Mikky
Kiemeney. His current team is Fc

paid 180 million for Mbappe.

debut in 2017. He was born in Paris
on 20 December 1998. He is 178 cm
long. His shirt number is 7 and he
has a contract until 30 July 2022.

Introduction:
We have chosen to make an
interview because we want to know
how it is to be a TTO teacher, and
how their lives are outside of school.
We have decided to interview miss
Van de Bercken.
Pre-Knowledge:
We already know some things about
miss Van de Bercken. We know that
she is a teacher and she is teaching
the subject of Design and
Technology. She is very kind and she
has a lot of patience with us. She has
an assistant for when her class is
going to do practical activities, his
name is Mr. Denise and we are
allowed to talk Dutch to him. He is
very nice and funny and always helps
us.
The interview:
Us: Can you tell us who you are?
Her: Yes, I am Miss van den Bercken
and I am 48 years old. I have a
husband, an 18 years-old daughter
and a 16 years-old son. My son goes
to the school where I teach and my
daughter has just graduated last year
also in this school.
Us: How did you end up working in
“Het Sintermeertencollege”.
Her: My husband got a new job in
Heerlen Theatre, so my whole family
had to move there. Before we moved
over here, I worked in a mirror
factory. However, when we moved to
Heerlen, I had to find a new job and I
applied to this school. They had a
new subject named Design and
Technology, so they asked me to be
the new teacher for this subject.
Us: What did you study?
Her: I first finished HAVO and then
went to MTRO in 1990, which no
longer exists. At first, I wanted to
work for a travel agency, but later on
I decided to become a teacher. So, I
went to the open day of teachers.
When I saw all the subjects that I

could choose from I noticed that
there was a new subject called design
and technology.
Us: When did you start working at “
Het Sintermeertencollege”?
Her:
I started working at Sintermeerten in
1998 and there they had Design and
Technology the subject I had studied
in 1995.
Us: What did you want to become
when you were younger?
Her: When I was younger, I wanted
to become a primary school teacher,
because I was so young, I didn’t know
I could become a middle school
teacher because I did not know that
existed.
Us: What is your favorite class?
Her: there is not really a class I
prefer, but in middle school I always
liked crafts. I hated PE but now I do
like it. I also like French because I like
different languages.
Us: if you had to make a choice
between practical activities. Theory
what would you chose?
Her: I like practical activities and
technical drawings over the theory.
Us: what do you think the school can
improve in?
Her: the school needs a bigger aula
or at least more places to sit.
Us: what do you think is annoying in
this school?
Her: I really don’t like the noise in
the hallways and in the stairs.
Because it is not necessary to make
that much noise. I don’t like people
who scream.
Us: what is your dream job?
Her: my dream job is on a camp side
in France. It seems very peaceful.
us: did you ever skip school as
teacher?
Her: I never skipped school.
Us: can u describe your worst day in
your teaching life?
Her: my worst day was when I was
highly pregnant and 2 kids where
fighting in my class and I separated
them. After the incident happened a
girl in my class came to me and
asked me why I separated them. At
the moment it seemed a good idea
but then she said what if one of them
punched your belly. I really did not
think about what I did. It was not
such a good idea after all.

Us: What is your favorite year?
Her: I really like all the years. The
freshmen are always so positive and
are very motivated, but with the 8 th
9 th 10 th and 11 th graders is also very
fun.
Why we interviewed miss Van de
Bercken?
We could’ve asked every teacher we
know in our school but why did we
ask miss Van de Bercken?
Most of the teachers we have this
year we didn’t have last year, except
for the subjects where the school only
need one teacher for. We really like
miss Van de Bercken because she is
very funny and kind. Miss Van de
Bercken is for us one of the best
teachers, and she is always positive,
and that is on period!
And we found out so much more
about her.

How to make your own mask
Non-sewn Mask
Materials:
• Washable, breathable fabric (cut
approximately 20”x20”)

the side of the face
Completely covers the nose and
mouth.
Is secured with ties or ear loops.
Includes multiple layers of fabric.

The best materials for face masks:
The most homemade masks are
made with cotton. Make sure if you
use a fabric that you have at least
two layers of fabric or that you have
a very thick fabric.
In which country’s they don’t wear
masks:
China, Hong Kong, Japan, South
Korea, Thailand and Vietnam mask
wearing is pretty much strange. Even
in Singapore, ranked by one study as
the lowest for mask-wearing in the
ASIAN countries
In the rest of the country’s they must
wear the masks, or they are advised
to wear a mask.

What are sneaker drops?
Sneaker drops are drops so when a
sneaker releases that is called a drop
and that’s a very big hype by teens
and also other people. There are
sometimes massive rows of people
who want that specific shoe what can
be thousands of euros. It also can we
online on different apps like SNKRS
from Nike/Jordan that is the most
famous app where hyped sneakers
are dropping.
But you need to be really fast by the
most hyped sneakers you have to go
in a lottery and hope that you have
won.
But mostly is that not the case
because 100 thousands of people are
signing up and hoping they won.
But for example, if there is not a
really special shoe comes out, and 2
days before they drop Kylie Jenner
wears that shoes, everyone wants to
have that shoes.
But you have also some shoes that
you cannot buy online but only in a
specific store.

but I think a lot of people know him

USA. The shoe has a boost as it is
called that makes walking on them
very comfortable. You have many
different Yeezy’s and a lot of new
Yeezy’s are dropping.

And for the rest you have a lot of

Ecstasy is MDMA in an innocentlooking
pill form with a fun shape
or smile on the drug. The
amphetamines (the drug) provides
an artificial carefree evening,
encourages you to dance wildly
without getting tired, makes you
less paranoid or nervous and
makes you extra sensitive to love,
romance and touch. But those
who try or get ecstasy and take it
not only break the law, they also
endanger themselves to extreme
health risks, especially when
consuming more later on and
drinking alcohol as well. Because
of the risks, it is safest to keep
your hands off. However, decades
of experience have shown that
bans and warnings do not prevent
many teenagers from trying or
using MDMA more regularly or
start trying it. Doing this without
any prior knowledge makes it
extremely dangerous. Experts are
because of that convinced that
education about the use of illegal
narcotics like ecstasy is also
important.
Research continues to revolve
around the question of how high
the neurotoxic potential of MDMA
is? How toxic is ecstasy for the
brain and liver? A big problem of
scientific investigation is related to
the topic of the research is mixed
consumption, especially alcohol
and ecstasy combined. The
consumption of ecstasy or other
substances that could also have a
neurotoxic effect must never be

they will educate students about
it, or better yet, don't take drugs!

Travis Scott is one of the most
famous rappers in the world. He is
known from songs like
Goosebump's and Sicko Mode ft
Drake. He has a girlfriend: Kylie
Jenner, and a daughter: Stormi
Webster. He is also a big fashion
icon, because he started his own
brand in 2017 called Cactus Jack.
The story:
Jack (his real name) was born in
1992 in Houston. Most of the time
he lived with his grandma. When
he was older, he went to the
University of Texas. But he
stopped with his study to focus on
music. When his parents heard
that he had quit his studies, they
severed ties with him. In 2013 he
dropped his first mixtape: Owl
Pharaoh. And his second one in
2014: Days before Rodeo. When
he dropped his first album: Rodeo
“shit was getting real”. That album
included one of his biggest hits:
Goosebump's. It became the

His latest album is called
Astroworld. It came out in 2018.
This album is a really special one.
The name Astroworld came from
an old Theme park in Houston.
Astroworld was shut down in
2005. Travis came there a lot
when he was young, so he wanted
to recreate that feeling so he
made Astroworld. But the special
thing is he made a Festival/
Theme park. A lot of famous
rappers performed there for
example Scheck Wes. I have
bought the album in LP version
because I liked it a lot.
Sneakers:
As I said before Travis Scott is a
new fashion icon, especially with
sneakers. The collabs between his
brand (Cactus Jack) and Nike are
very hyped. When a product is
hyped it means that there not a
lot of pairs made, and a lot of
people want a pair. So, to get one
you have 2 options: you can write
yourself in for a raffle on the Nike
SNKRS app or you have to be

really quick on the Cactus Jack
site. The problem is that a lot of
people are buying the shoes to
resell them. Because the value of
these shoes is going to be a lot
higher, sometimes 15x the retail
price. Cactus jack does not only
work with Nike. They also did
collab with McDonalds for
example. They made a meal and
shirts. I managed to get a shirt for
retail.

Chakir we chose the topic the big
5 because we are interested in
animals and this topic seems nice
to us. We have also animals at
home for example a hamster, a
rabbit and a turtle etc.
The big five is:

Why are they called the big
five?
The term was invented by big
game hunters and refers to the
five most difficult animals in
Africa to hunt on foot. It also
has to do with the size and
danger of the animal. Now
they just use a camera to hunt
on them and that is better in
my thought.

Big Five" is synonymous with
the ultimate safari experience.

documentaries on TV.
Preferably those from National
Geographic or the BBC. There I

beautiful images of immense
herds of wildebeest and zebras
in beautiful African landscapes.
I look with delight at the
graceful steps and movements
of giraffes, the strength of the
jaws of crocodiles, the precision
with which leopards stalk their
prey and the cooperation of
lions in the hunt for a meal. My
admiration goes out to the
intelligence of elephants in
their behavior and emotion
and there is a smile of
recognition at the sight of
playful gorillas and
chimpanzees. The animals of
Africa have been locked in my
heart forever. But one thing
that fascinates me the most
during a safari, seeing the Big
Five! But what is the Big five
The Big five consists of the
following animals:
The lion: the king of the
beasts.
The elephant: the largest land
animal in the world.
The buffalo: you might not
expect it immediately, but this
is the most dangerous of the
five, especially if it feels
threatened it can be very
aggressive.
The rhino: The most
endangered of the five, named
the black rhinoceros, is in
serious danger of extinction.
The leopard: the hardest of
the five to spot, it likes to hide
in trees and with its good
camouflage it is almost
invisible.

African elephant
The African elephant is a very
large herbivore and they have
almost hairless skin. They
become aggressive when their
young ones are being
maltreated. Elephants are
difficult to hunt because,
despite their large size, they are
able to hide in tall grass and
are more likely to charge than
the other species.
African lion
The lion is a large feline of
Africa and northwest India. The
female has a short tawny coat
and a tufted tail and the male
has a heavy mane around the
neck and shoulders. Lions are
desirable to hunters because of
the very real danger involved in
hunting them.
The black rhinoceros
The black
rhinoceros is a
large herbivore
having two
upright horns on
the nasal bridge.
He has a very thick
skin (1,5 to 5 cm) that
is his protective skin that skin is
formed from layers of collagen.
It is very hard. hunting is
extremely limited due to this. In
the context of big-game
hunting in Africa, the term
rhinoceros may also refer to
the white rhinoceros but
among big five game hunters,
the black rhinoceros is

leopard

The cape buffalo
The cape buffalo is a large
horned bivod. They are the only
animals within the Big Five
that are not endangered or
threatened. The Cape buffalo is
considered by many to be the
most dangerous of the big five
to hunters, with wounded
animals reported to ambush
and attack pursuers.

can hear

their feet
Elephants have
excellent hearing
due to their large ears, but
elephants can also hear very
well with their feet. With their
sensitive paws, they feel
vibrations from miles away.
These vibrations are sent to the
middle ear through the bones.
For example, the animal can
hear where danger threatens or
that a friendly group of
elephants is approaching
through for example a lion or
hyenas then they going to help
them, because elephants also
are very close to their family.
The lion has his own
fingerprint
Each lion has his own unique
code. For example, a zebra has
his own unique stripes and a
giraffe has his own unique
pattern, but a lion has his own
unique whiskers. You can think

The importance of the SSD
(Solid-State Drive)
The SSD is key to the PlayStation
5 experience. Internal storage will
be built so then it has 825GB for
the custom SSD – that's less than
you'll find in the Xbox Series X. It

SSDs don’t just load faster, but
allow for bigger open worlds,

bandwidth, so data can be loaded
from the SSD when it’s needed,

RAM (random access memory). In
pure gameplay terms that means
that games will suffer less from
texture pop-in, while load times
will be hugely reduced
when using a game's fast-travel
option. Booting up from standby
should be
generally, much faster, too.
You'll also have more control over
how you install and remove
games, meaning you could just
install a game's multiplayer mode
rather than the full block of data.
This will allow for the launch of
direct gameplay, allowing players
to jump straight into aspects of
different games (such as
matchmaking, continue save
game etc.) without having to boot
up the full game. As for
expandable storage, Sony appears
to be allowing for off-the-shelf PC
drives, rather than priority storage
systems that Xbox will primarily
be relying on. However, there
aren't many drives on the market
right now that use the interface
required – they need to be capable
of at least a 5.5GB/s transfer
speed.
PS4 games on the PS5 will work
just fine if saved to a regular HDD,
however, so you won't need to tap
into that precious SSD space

In the past there were only kings
and Emperors. These Kings and

the entire empire. In the
Netherlands, these were mainly
Napoleon & Charlemagne. They
also wanted to make the Empire
they had bigger every time
and hired soldiers to achieve that.
In the past & now:
In the Netherlands it will not
happen that parts of our country
will be taken over by other
countries, but it still happens in
other parts of the world!
Often the point is that the rulers in
other countries want more land,
but usually it is about religious
differences.
In the past, every boy had to be
employed when he turned
eighteen. This was called
conscription. You could not just
refuse this. Now the army only
employs men and woman who
want this, they are with about
40,000. They are called
professional soldiers.
What is the army
doing in the
Netherlands?
The Dutch
army helps to have
peace and security
in the Netherlands. They guard
and defend Dutch territory and
our neighbouring countries. The
entire army in the Netherlands is
called the armed forces.
Each part of the Dutch armed
forces has its own tasks to protect
the safety of the Dutch. Not only

do they protect the Netherlands,
they also protect the Netherlands
Antilles and NATO allies. These
allies can be seen as a kind of
“friends" of the Netherlands. They
protect us, we protect them!
The Army is one of the largest
employers in the Netherlands. An
employer is the same as a boss.
Do you know how many people
work at Defense?
Nearly 60,000! The most is
military, almost 42,000. But there
are also people who are not
military, they are civilians!

meanings: army as total armed
forces and army as a part that
only operates on land, the land
forces.
Protecting a country consists for

Marechaussee - police within the
army.
The army works on the land,
helps people and ensures
safety. The army is the part where
you used to start with your
military service. The basis of all
other parts.
An important task of the army is
to ensure peace and freedom in
the world. Dutch soldiers are
therefore sent to places all over
the world. The military
go for example to areas
where there is war. There
they try to prevent a
war. Further they help
people build bridges
and dig wells.
The air force was first part of the
army. It was called the Aviation
Department. In 1939 it became
the Aviation Brigade. After that it
became an independent part of
the armed forces. The Air Force
monitors Dutch airspace 24 hours

a day with two fighter planes.
These can stop or even shoot
down enemy aircraft. There are
also helicopters to transport
patients or rescue people from the
sea. Our air force is
also working abroad.
The navy was there
much earlier than the air
force. The navy works at
sea and takes care
for safety at sea. The
navy consists of two
parts: the Marine Corps
and the Fleet. The Fleet consists of
the various ships of the navy. For
example, aircraft carriers and
submarines. The Navy also has
helicopters. With the Fleet there
are working approximately 7,500
people. There are specially trained
people in the Marine Corps. They
work at sea and on land. They
help with war and fight
against terrorism. They also do
secret investigations and help
people.
The Marechaussee is the military
police of the Dutch armed forces.
You often see them in the fight
against riots at football matches.
Other tasks of the Royal
Netherlands Marechaussee
include guarding royal
palaces (The military police also
secured the Royal Household),
security at airports and helping
the 'normal' police.
After several terrorist attacks in
Europe, the Dutch government has
decided to set up the High-Risk
Security Eskadron (HRB
squadron) as part of the
Marechaussee.
Ranks in the military:
As you may already know, the
army has different ranks, which
indicates the status of a soldier.
For example, not every soldier is a
soldier, there are also corporals,
sergeants, lieutenants, captains,
majors, colonels and generals
within the army.
The rank of a soldier is indicated
on the uniform of a soldier. You
must now that the ranks for the
navy sometimes have a slightly
different designation than the
ranks for the army and air force.
Within the navy, for example,

another country, because
people got an arrested or are
in indebts.
The effects
The combined effects of the
desire to avoid detection and
the greater temporary nature
of the migration has an effect
on: the country-specific skills tend
to rise with the overall skill level
of workers, even if it declines as a
share of total skills.
Most strict borders
USA
The borders from the USA are very
strict. They have a lot of
security like police dogs, military
security, 360°c scans, fingerprint
and iris scans, import documents
and they pick random people out
of the line to check if they bring
anything illegal.
Australia
It is almost the same as when you
go to the USA, but they are super
strict that you don’t damage the
special nature. For example:
before you land in Australia, they
walk with big sprays, so you don’t
bring any seeds or nature that
isn’t from Australia.

Asia
The borders in Asia are probably
the strictest of all. Not only are
there drug
dogs, military and lots of
security. Before you even
can get on the
plane man and
women must
be separate. You
have to get in a
line and one by one you will get
checked. There are also military
people who are weaponed and if
you look suspicious, they will take
you out of the line and check you
again.
Smuggling
Smuggling is the illegally
transportation of people,
information, objects, wildlife or
substances across an international
border.
There are many different
motivations to smuggle, these
include the participation in illegal
trade, like in the illegal weapon
trade, exotic wildlife trade, drug
trade, illegal immigration and
emigration, tax evasion or the heft
of the items being smuggled.
Types of smuggling
• Goods
It usually occurs when either the
customs duties are high enough to
allow a smuggler to make a large
profit on the clandestine goods or
when there is a strong demand for
prohibited goods, like narcotics
and weapons.
• People smuggling
Also known as human
smuggling. The transportation or
illegal entry of people across the
international border, in
infringement of one or more
countries. Around 90% of people
who have illegally crossed the
border between Mexico and the
US are believed to have a
paid person/ smuggler to lead
them across the borders.
People smuggling can be used to
rescue a person from a terrible
living situation. For example,
when the southern part of the
USA allowed slavery, many
of then moved to the northern
part of the USA because there it
wasn’t allowed. They went via
the Underground Railroad. It was
the same during the Shoah,
Jewish people were smuggled out
of Germany.
• Wildlife
Wildlife smuggling is that you
want to transport illegal animals
into a country, the most
commonly smuggled animal is the
pangolin,

a mammal. The CITES (Conventio
n on International Trade
in Endangered Species of wild
fauna and flora) controls the
movement of endangered wildlife
across the border.
Study
The base requirements for a U.S.
Airport Customs Officer is an
undergraduate degree or one year
of experience working in security.
In addition, you must have a valid
driver’s license, proof of U.S.
citizenship, pass a drug test and a
criminal background check.
Finally, you must receive a
qualifying score on an entrance
exam administered by U.S.
Customs and Border Protection.

WHAT ARE EXOPLANETS?
Exoplanets or extrasolar planets
are planets in another solar
system and sometimes people call
them ‘Alien worlds.
The first possible evidence of an
exoplanet was noted in 1917, but
it was not recognized as one. The
first real detection occurred in
1992. The word exo comes from
the Greek and means outside.
these worlds are far, far outside
our own solar system.
Astronomers have confirmed more
than 4.000 exoplanets orbiting
another star. they confirmed the
first exoplanet orbiting a sunlike
star in 1995. The true discoveries
came with advancing technology.
The question many people ask
themselves is: why didn’t we see
them before? The reason is that
these planets are too far away to
see. Several lightyears at their
closest. Normally we would see
lights, but they don’t shine with
their own light just as our planet,
the exoplanets reflect the light
from their star. Compared to their
stars, exoplanets are not very
bright even the largest are
drowned in the light of their
brighter stars. That’s why, even
now, even the largest are too
small to be glimpsed in optical
telescopes, although a few have
been discovered already.
Before the first exoplanet
discovery, most astronomers

assumed exoplanets, if found,
would resemble the planets in our
solar system. But that is not true,
their position and the time it takes
to make rounds around their star
is in always different than other
planets. Exoplanets are very hard
to see directly with telescopes.
They are hidden by the bright
glare of the stars they orbit. So,
astronomers use other ways to
detect and study these distant
planets. They search for
exoplanets by looking at the
effects these planets have on the
stars they orbit. One way to find
exoplanets is called the “wobbly
star”. When a planet orbits a star
not perfectly that means when a
planet doesn’t make perfect
rounds it looks like the star is
wobbling astronomists look
through telescopes to find these
“wobbly stars”. Scientists think
that there are also exomoons they
are not found yet but scientists
where very close in 2017, they
thought that the exoplanet Kepler-
1625 b had an exomoon. They
looked carefully at the light of the
star and saw something that
looked more like a moon than a
planet. Apparently, it seemed that
it was not an exomoon. The thing
the scientist thought was an
exomoon was approximately as
big as Neptune.
THE JAMES WEBB SPACE-
TELESCOPE.
Exoplanets are found by big and
expensive space-telescopes. For
example, The James Webb spacetelescope.
The James Webb spacetelescope
is going to discover new
Exoplanets.
On the 31st of October 2021 the
James Webb space-telescope is
going to be launched into space.
The James Webb space-telescope
was predicted to be launched
somewhere around 2007, and
they then thought it would cost
$1.000.000.000 dollar, But then
the James Webb space-telescope
wasn’t launched in 2007 but more
than a decade later (it is going to
launch in 2021). But because of
that it’s total lifetime costs $
9.660.000.000 dollar. 9 times as
much!

gold collects the most light in that
way the James Webb spacetelescope
can find the first stars

and galaxies after the Big Bang,

HOW ARE EXOPLANETS
FOUND?
Scientists find Exoplanets in a
couple of different ways. Imagine
that you see a space-telescope in
space, looking for Exoplanets. The
space-telescope can block the
light from star, and then the
space-telescope can see the light
that’s left (small light dots), and
that are Exoplanets. And there is
also another space-telescopes find
Exoplanets.
When the space-telescope sees a
star. The space-telescope looks at
the star and when he sees the
light is blocked in the form of a
circle. Then there is an Exoplanet
circling around the star. You
would probably think now that
this all happens quickly. But that
isn’t true, the big and expensive
space-telescopes take picture of
this occurations week after week,
month after month and even year
after year! Because when you see
WHAT ARE HABITABLE
EXOPLANETS?
An exoplanet or extrasolar planet

suitable for life, there are
obviously many more planets but
that would be too much to write
on only one page. The least
massive planet is called Draugr, it
is twice the mass of the Moon. The
most massive planet is known as
HR 2562 b its about 30 times the
mass of Jupiter. However the
“planet” is too massive to be a
planet and may be called a Brown
Dwarf instead There is evidence
that extragalactic planets,
exoplanets farther away in
galaxies beyond the local Milky
Way galaxy, may exist. The
nearest exoplanets are located 4.2
light-years (1.3 parsecs) from
Earth and orbit Proxima Centauri,
the closest star to the Sun.

unit of length used to express
astronomical distances and is
equivalent to about 9.46 trillion

Traditionally, Black Pete is black
because he is a Moor from Spain.

an innocent part of Christmas
celebrations that kids enjoy.
Rutte said he expected that in a
few years' time there will be "no
more black Pete’s".
He said many people, including
children, had told him that they
felt discriminated against because
Black Pete is black.

In the days after the nuclear
accident Fukushima, radiation
released to the atmosphere forced
the government to declare an
ever-larger evacuation zone
around the plant Fukushima
The nuclear disaster Fukushima
happened in a city called Ōkuma
in Japan.
It all started with a
wave that started on
11 march 2011 there
was a catastrophic
earthquake that
struck 370 km
northeast of Tokyo
the wave started to build in height
the earthquake had so much
power it permanently moved the
main island of Japan (Honshu)
more than 2 meters to the east.
By the time the tsunami reached
the Japanese east coast the water
was around 40 meters high.
In the days after the accident,
radiation released to the
atmosphere forced the
government to declare an everlarger
evacuation zone around
then nuclear power plant.
Deaths: there has been 1 death by
cancer because of the radiation.
Injuries: there have been 16
physical injuries due to hydrogen
explosions and 2 workers have
been taken to the hospital with
possible radiation burns.
On the 5th of July 2012 the
national diet of Japan Fukushima
nuclear disaster independent
investigation commission (NAIIC)
found that the causes of the
nuclear disaster were foreseeable
and that the plant operator Tokyo
electric power company (TEPCO)
had failed the basic safety
requirements such as risk
assessment, preparing for
containing collateral damage and
developing evacuation plans.
Immediately after the earthquake
radio-active gases (xenon) are
measured: the reactor is leaking.
Within hours, the fuel - due to the
failure of the cooling systems and
the evaporation of cooling water –
melts completely. The molten
nuclear fuel first accumulates at

the bottom of the reactor pressure
vessel. More and more holes are
forming and the bottom melts. On
March 12, at 15h25 local time, a
hydrogen explosion tears the
building apart. In an attempt to
solve the problem, 8000 liters of
water are pumped into the reactor
per hour, but it completely
evaporates or runs away, through
the wrecked vessel into the
basement.
The meltdown started with a wave
within 50 minutes of the
earthquake the first wave
destroyed the nuclear power
plant’s 10-meter-high sea wall. 16
hours into the disaster the fuel in
1 reactor already melted with the
other 2 close behind. It would be
another 88 days until the
government admitted that a
meltdown had taken place, the
worst nuclear disaster since the
1986 Chernobyl incident. While
water caused the meltdown, it was
also the only way to stop it. Since
the disaster TEPCO has been
pumping hundreds of tons of
water into Fukushima to cool the
reactors and stop the outflow of
radiation. Some 800,000 tons of
highly radioactive water now sit in
hastily built tanks at the site,
enough to fill 315 Olympic-sized
swimming pools, with around 400
tons added to the tanks every day.
The government has spent more
than 1.5 billion dollars collecting
radioactive soil and earth from the
surroundings. Which now sits in
thousands of industrial-sized black
bags looking like the world's
deadliest grain harvest. How the
water and earth will be disposed
isn’t clear yet.

beauty or emotional power.
The oldest form of art is visual
arts, what are the things like
painting, sculptures,
photography, printmaking and
other visual media.
Architecture is also often
included as a visual art.
According to smashing

deliberately arranging
elements in a way that appeals
to the senses or emotions. It
encompasses a diverse range of
human activities, creations and
ways of expression, including
music, literature,
film, sculpture and
paintings.
Drawings
Drawings is a technique where
images are depicted on a
surface like paper, canvas etc.
You can also draw on a
(drawing) tablet or tablet by
multiple drawing programs,
some of the popular programs

applications of AR technology
are from the gaming world. For
example, Pokémon Go, the
game where users can ‘catch’
Pokémon hiding in the world
around them.
Animated creatures are
superimposed onto what
players can see through their
device’s camera. The
technology makes them appear
as if they are existing in the
real world.
There are different forms of art.
Examples of these forms
include: Architecture, sculpture,
painting, drawing, digital art,
literature, preforming, filming
and photography. But in this
article, we are mainly going to
focus on traditional arts and
digital arts.
Art styles:
In drawing and art in general there
are many different art-styles. In
traditional art, the painting can go
from very realistic to very abstract.
Realism is what the realistic art-style is
called, its often used in portraits and
landscapes. In abstract art you can’t
really see what’s it supposed to be, you
need to look at it for a longer time to
see all the details, abstract art is also
not true to reality, it couldn’t exist in
real life. These art styles are also
mostly used in traditional art
In digital art, most people have a
unique art style, almost every
artist draws their characters in a
different way. These styles can
variate from hyper-realistic to
anime, cartoon and everything in
between.

If you do digital art, you need to
find your own aesthetic. Shading
is also something you should
figure out if you want to do it.
Some people don’t like to do
shading, others do like it.
Animation:
If you do digital arts, you can also
try to do animation. Animation is
when you create the illusion
of movement in a drawing.
Making an animation costs lots of
time because you need to draw
every single step. In animation
there are also different programs
you can use, one of these
programs is for example flipaclip.
There are also different styles of
animations, some people
make more simple drawings and
smoother movements, others go
for high detail and less smooth
movement. And some people can
do both. There are also different
things you can animate. For
example, you have animated story
times, multiple animator projects,
animation memes and more.
Animation memes are little
animations people invent and
copy from other people. It’s the
purpose that they copy and make
the meme a bit more personal, so
you have a variety of the same
meme. Multiple animator projects
(map) are most of the time big
animation memes where multiple
animators team up to make one.
Every animator makes a separate
piece and when everything is
done. They put all of it together to
make one video.

On 17 July 289 people died because of a plane crash how did it
crash?
On 17 July a Boeing from
Malaysia-Airlines flight number
MH17 got shot. The plane started
from Amsterdam to Kuala
Lumpur(capital of Malaysia). The
plane got crashed above the
Ukraine village Hrabove, on board
were 298 people 15 crew
members there were 193 Dutch
people were on the plane.

How did it crash? a lot of
researches were done, scientist
said it was a BUK missile. The
research was done by the
Onderzoeksraad voor Veiligheid.
The missile hit the plane on 10
kilometres height. The range that
the plane got shot can’t get
reached by a normal shoulder
launcher like a Bazooka, to shoot
down MH17 you need an
advanced launch system with a
heat censor. The place where the
research was done was scattered
with crap and belongings of
people. Little pieces of the BUK
missile were found in the leftovers
of the plane, the pieces were
scattered around a big field. There
were also big pieces like the wings
and the cockpit.
A BUK is a middle range missile
designed by the Soviet-Union later
by the Russians. A BUK missile is
used to take down helicopters,
cruise missiles, UAV’s and planes.
It was used in 1997 these aren’t
produced anymore since 1999.
An experiment was done a BUK
missile was fired on a test plane to
see what happened metal crap of
the missile was found the same
crap that was found by MH-17.
