• We also welcome the newest member of our staff, Mr.

• There have been some changes with our teachers.

Those who have had Mr. San Nicolas for English

(On PS, he was replacing Ms. Martha Tenorio) will

now have Ms. Jerrika Atalig. Ms. Mosher is on

leave and will be covered by Ms. Noshista

KUDOS!

• During the 1st Quarter, JROTC had 34 students that received the Academic Achievement award (ribbon);

in addition, 78 students were advanced/promoted in rank. WAY TO GO!!!

• Congratulations to our SENIORS, winners of PDN’s ‘Pika’s Best’ Class of 2021!

• THANK YOU to Mrs. Joy Ada and her students who allowed our teachers to learn with and from them in

WHAT’S AHEAD: RE-ENTRY

• Depending on the health situation of our island and our Risk Level (see School Readiness Dashboard above), we

can anticipate a return to our school campus as early as January 2021.

• This Re-Entry is applicable only for those students who elect to return to the traditional face-to-face model

• The department will be phasing out the Hard Copy model of learning as student devices and internet access

becomes available to students. The Hard Copy Model would only be provided to a very small segment of the

population based on extreme need

• Those who wish to return to the traditional face-to-face (F2F) model MUST complete and submit an

Application Form AND an updated Health Information Form no later than December 18th .(Once it is

available, it will be accessible at gwhsgeckos.com or at Grab and Learn Pick Up)

• In the event of closure after re-entry, students enrolled in F2F will return to the MOL in which they had been in

previously (online or hard copy)

HARD COPY LEARNERS

• Requests have been made to switch from ONLINE to HARD COPY. As we are working towards

phasing out the hard copy model, approval to switch will be on a case-by-case basis and

dependent upon extreme need

• When the phasing out begins, those who have demonstrated a commitment to learning

through the hard copy model by consistently picking up work and submitting

assignments may be given approval to remain on the HC Model. All others who have been

inconsistent will be expected to apply for Traditional Face-to-Face OR Online (once devices for

internet services becomes available).

ONLINE LEARNERS

For those who have RECENTLY received laptops

or have changed from Hard Copy to ONLINE, be

sure to check your GDOE email for invites to

Google Classroom (If you didn’t get an

invitation, EMAIL your teacher and ask to

resend. Teachers’ emails are posted on the

website under ‘Directory’)

Log onto your classrooms as scheduled per

subject area. Not attending class equals an

absence.

You should have a SYNCHRONOUS learning

session Monday-Thursday for each of your

classes

Throughout the week, you may be engaged in

asynchronous learning as you practice what

you’ve learned

Be sure to READ and SIGN the revised MOU

(given through English teachers, and also

available on the school website)

• Each day is designated for a particular subject area(s), and should be the same for ALL teachers/classes.

• Times may vary, depending on team agreements, and teacher-student ratios.

on January 26, 2021. If you are interested in

ordered for those who contact and confirm

with Ms. Lujan.

The Admissions Team at Saint Mary’s College of California is

thrilled to have connected with so many of your students via

virtual high school visits, college fairs, interviews, and more this

fall! Although we aren’t able to travel to your schools and fairs
