HOA BOARD MEETINGS
Many of our Falcon Ranch Homeowners have requested we move our
Falcon Ranch HOA Meetings to a different night, other than the fourth
Wednesday of the month. By popular demand, we moved our HOA
Board Meetings, to the fourth Tuesday of the month, starting in June
2018. The starting time of our HOA Meetings will still be at 6:30 PM. The
HOA Board Members and the Management from Spectrum Association
Management respect the wishes of our Falcon Ranch Homeowners.

Trash and Recycling is collected every Tuesday and Trash only on Friday.
Please remember, to bring in your Trash cans the evening of Pick Up. This
is an easy way to make our Community look fresh and appealing.
If you mow your lawn after trash has been picked up, please keep the bag
of grass clippings in your garage until Trash Pickup Day. Again, an easy
way to improve the appearance of our Community.
If you must park on the street, please make sure you are not parked
directly behind a resident’s driveway. This makes it very difficult for the
home owner to back out of their driveways.
Please do not park near the end of a block as this deters traffic flow. It is
also a safety issue with Children coming home from school and getting
off the bus.
Limit parking to one side of the street. Parking on both sides causes
issues with traffic flow for normal size vehicles not to mention Emergency
vehicles such as Ambulances and Fire Trucks.

WANTING TO MAKE AN EXTERIOR
IMPROVEMENT TO YOUR HOME?
Many new homeowners like to improve on the new home they purchase
by adding a swimming pool, storage shed or other modifications. If
you want to make an exterior change to your home, please fill out the
application found on the Spectrum Website at www.spectrumam.com.
The Association has a committee that reviews these applications and the
committee has 30 days to respond.
NEWSLETTER DEADLINES
Residents are invited to contribute to this local newsletter. Articles
should be submitted to the Board (board@falconranchhoa.com), no later
than the 20 th of the month BEFORE the newsletter is printed, which is the
month before distribution.
RECYCLE YARD WASTE
Residents of Falcon Ranch could benefit the community, as well as
their own lawns and pocketbooks, with one simple change in lawn
maintenance.
If you or your lawn service currently bag grass clippings, simply leaving
the clippings to work down into the lawn will make a huge difference in
the amount of waste our community puts into the landfill each year. It
will also help conserve water, because the clippings will work to maintain
moisture in the soil. Both of these benefits will save money in the longrun.
Moreover, it is estimated that lawns that are naturally fertilized with
grass clippings require 25% less fertilizer - resulting in even more savings
to you!
Grass clippings and finely chopped leaves add vital nutrients and
organic matter to the lawn, thus improving the health of the lawn. It
isn’t necessary to use a mulching mower; just mow one inch when grass
reaches four inches tall. The clippings won’t be noticed and will break
down within a week.
REPORTING SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
You may have noticed the constables patrolling our neighborhoods,
working to keep our community safer for everyone. The appearance of
constables has raised a question of what to do if you witness suspicious
activity. If you see something happening that is an emergency, please call
911. If you see suspicious activities that are not emergencies, call the Fort
Bend County Sheriff’s Office at 281-341-4665.

KATY ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES
REASON2RACE
Pick your race, pick your pace and raise funds for teacher grants with
every step. Run or walk with the Katy ISD Education Foundation in the
Katy Half Marathon/5k/1k on Saturday, February 6, 2021 to raise funds
for the Inspiring Imagination teacher grant program. Last year, over 60
teams and 600 runners raced to support the foundation, raising over
$115,000 for Katy ISD teacher grants.
The Katy ISD Education Foundation celebrated a spectacular milestone
this year with over $2 million awarded in its first eight years of Inspiring
Imagination teacher grants. Reason2Race and its proceeds play a key role
in reaching milestones such as this and will continue to garner support as
the foundation’s grant program expands. Register and join Team Katy ISD

of co-workers and friends. All proceeds will directly support Inspiring

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie
You could make this on National Pie Day December 1st or National
Pumpkin Pie Day on December 25th!
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 1/2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
1 cup cold milk
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (15 ounce) can solid pack pumpkin puree
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, whisk together cream cheese, 1 tablespoon of
milk and sugar until smooth. Gently stir in whipped topping.
Spread into bottom of crust.
Pour 1 cup of milk into large bowl and thoroughly mix in pudding
mix, pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. When thickened,
spread over cream cheese layer. Refrigerate 4 hours or until set.

Ambrosia Fruit Salad
You could make this on National Ambrosia Day on December 12th!
INGREDIENTS:
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 1/2 cups shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 (8 ounce) can fruit cocktail, drained
1 (8 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained (optional)
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl, combine the whipped topping, coconut, chopped nuts,
fruit cocktail, pineapple, mandarin oranges, marshmallows, cherries,
nutmeg and cinnamon. Mix together well and refrigerate for 30 to 45
minutes.

HOUSTON ASTROS ALEX BREGMAN CHARITY
DONATES IPADS TO KATY ISD
It was a day to remember for many Katy Independent School District
students, who had a visit from Houston Astros third baseman and
shortstop Alex Bregman and the school received brand new iPads,
courtesy of the Bregman Cares Charity. Four Katy ISD schools, including
Leonard, McRoberts, Griffin and Stephens elementary schools, welcomed
the baseball player to their campus for the donation, all while practicing
COVID-19 safety protocols.
“It feels great to see their smiles,” said Houston Astros Alex Bregman.
“Schools are doing a great job of keeping students safe and also helping
them learn. Katy ISD has done a great job in these tough times and is
helping the kids through their learning. It’s been great to be able to hand
out iPads today,” added Bregman.
The Bregman Cares mission is to provide awareness, support, time and
resources to children locally and throughout the country. For the past
few years, the organization has focused on donating technology devices
and educational resources for students.
KATY ISD PROVIDING FREE MEALS
TO ALL KATY AREA STUDENTS
Through an extended waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture
(USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), Katy ISD began
providing free meals to all Katy area students on Monday, September
21 st . Students can receive breakfast and lunch at no cost through
December 31 st or pending available funds through the USDA and TDA.
“All students are eligible for one breakfast and one lunch meal per day per
federal guidance,” said Nutrition & Food Service Executive Director Donna
Pittenger. “Parents can however add funds to their student’s Pay N’ Go
meal account for a la carte purchases or in preparation for when the
USDA waiver ends,” added Pittenger.
For students participating in Katy ISD virtual instruction, as well as
children 18 and under not enrolled in Katy ISD, breakfast and lunch can
be picked up at designated school curbside distribution sites from 4 to
6 PM, Monday through Friday. Meals are packaged to be heated and
eaten at home and are to be picked up a day before the intended use.
Distribution sites include:
· Cinco Ranch High School, 23440 Cinco Ranch Blvd, Katy, TX 77494
· Mayde Creek High School, 19202 Groeschke Road, Katy, TX 77084
· Morton Ranch High School, 21000 Franz Road, Katy, TX 77449
The TDA policy now requires parents picking up meals, without a
student, to present one of the following forms of documentation for
each child: an official letter, email, electronic school application, student
report card, student ID card, attendance records with student’s names
or a birth certificate. Once the waiver expires, Katy ISD will switch back
to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Free and reduced
meal applications must still be submitted for the 2020-2021 school year
to determine benefits after the waiver ends. Parents can visit schoolcafe.
