<strong>Hikoi</strong> was commissioned by Evelyn Glennie and the New Zealand<br />
Symphony Orchestra, and first performed in the Aotea Centre, Auckland,<br />
New Zealand, by Evelyn Glennie (percussion) with the New Zealand<br />
Symphony Orchestra conducted by James Judd on 12 September 2000. The<br />
work was later performed during the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.<br />
<strong>Hikoi</strong> was revised in 2012.<br />
This edition is a facsimile of the original score provided by the composer.<br />
