Hikoi was commissioned by Evelyn Glennie and the New Zealand
Symphony Orchestra, and first performed in the Aotea Centre, Auckland,
New Zealand, by Evelyn Glennie (percussion) with the New Zealand
Symphony Orchestra conducted by James Judd on 12 September 2000. The
work was later performed during the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
Hikoi was revised in 2012.
This edition is a facsimile of the original score provided by the composer.
