Welcome to the latest edition of the Grey Mare Lane newsletter. Christmas is fast approaching, and we

hope you’re all keeping well in these extraordinary times.

We recently sent you “Your ideas Your views” activity pack, which asked for your input to help shape the

plans for the future of the area.

We want to say a big thank you to all of you who have taken the time to return the booklet or to comment on

the website. Your feedback is helping us to make important choices as part of our regeneration project, and

we’re grateful for your thoughts.

We understand that this is a difficult situation, and we’re all trying to juggle lots of different things, but we

haven’t received the level of feedback we were hoping for. We know that there are some thoughts and issues

we need to consider as part of our regeneration, but we can’t do that without you!

It’s so important to us at One Manchester that we regenerate the area in a way that incorporates

your views, and that benefits the local community. This is only possible if you tell us what you think,

so we encourage you to complete the activity pack and return it to us using the pre-paid envelope

provided. If you’d prefer to give us your comments online, you can do that on our dedicated hub -

From the feedback we have received, you said:

We’ve had feedback that some residents feel that we may not take your views into account and we want to

reassure you that everyone’s ideas matter. We want to do this project together with you which is why we’re

so interested in your ideas and views. We know that you and your community understand the good and bad

of the estate and how the area can be improved.

We really want to get this right, we know that a project of this size can take a long time. But as you can see

from the timeline there is a clear journey towards regenerating the area and our next step is to focus on

detailed designs. We want to gather the views of as many local people as we can because your feedback will

be such a big part of the planning application that we intend to submit in about a years’ time.

Proposed engagement plan

We are still seeking ambassadors to help us make sure that every person’s view is heard and understood and

to support us to update people with the latest information. If you want to be an ambassador for the estate

then please contact Patrick at patrick.beesley@onemanchester.co.uk

We really hope that the situation across the country improves in the new year, so we’re able to see more

of you face-to-face, and gather to collaborate on our plans. As soon as the guidelines allow us to, we’ll be

holding sessions on the estate to get more of your feedback.
