How To Use This Notebook
Year at a Glance — Page 9–10
This page gives you a brief overview of
the upcoming year and the following
year where you can circle special dates
or highlight vacation times or special
services.
Sermon Notes — Pages 11–205
These pages are the bulk of this
notebook and are designed to
transform you from being a “hearer”
of the Word into a “doer” of the
Word. Pages xi–xii elaborate on the
structure of the Sermon Notes pages.
Personal Bible Study — Pages 207–271
These pages allow you to keep your
personal Bible study notes together
with your sermon notes so you can
compare your notes quickly and easily.
At the beginning of this section is a
Bible reading chart you can use to track
your progress through the Scriptures.
Scripture Memory — Pages 273–285
These pages allow you the space to
write out the entire passage that
you’re working to memorize. There
are pages with lines for regularly
writing out your verses and pages
without lines if you prefer to be more
creative through hand-lettering or
doodling while you write your verses.
Prayer & Thanksgiving — Pages 287–301
This section helps you to keep these
two critical elements of your walk
with the Lord in focus. There are
spots to write dates and the request,
and you can write the answer to the
prayer on the opposite page.
Monthly Reflection — Pages 303–315
The monthly reflection pages allow
you a brief space to reflect on the
previous month. It’s a great spot to
highlight where the Lord has helped
with achievements, keep track of
special events that happened in your
church or life, and meditate on how
the Lord is working in your life. It is
also a helpful spot for you to compare
yourself against where you were
spiritually the month before.
Memorable Quotations — Pages 317–325
These pages allow you to highlight
key quotations from messages that
stand out to you. You may use the
“attribution” field to name the author
of the quotation.
Guest Log — Pages 327–335
The guest log is a great space to keep
track of the people who visit your
church. It’s easy to forget details after
the moment, so take the time to write
down the guest’s name, when they
visited, and some notes about them so
you can be an encouragement to them
in the best way possible.
Connection Log — Pages
This section is designed to help you
keep track of connections you’ve
made with your family, church family,
friends, and guests. You may use this
section to highlight special time spent
with others (welcoming people into
your home, visiting their homes,
etc.), and keep track of greeting cards
sent and received to help you be an
encouragement to others.

Bookmark — The bookmark is the perfect way to organize your sermon notes.
However you’d like to organize them—by topic, series, speaker, how it changed
your life—you can color in the bookmark or write inside of it to keep the
messages that spoke to you organized at a glance. There is a spot on the next
page where you can color in your bookmark key.
Speaker’s Name — This is where you can write in the name of the speaker.
Key Takeaway — Use this section to summarize the message so you can review
it quickly during your monthly reflections.
General Notes — This is where you can write your general outline as well as
quotes or notes that speak to your heart.
Additional Scripture — Here you can write in additional passages that were
used during the message for quick reference.
Reflection — This spot is for you to write down exactly how the Lord spoke to
you. You can write in prayer form or list specific points that you’d like to work
on in your life.
My Action Steps — Here you can write concrete steps you’d like to take to apply
the principles from the message to your life. These are things that you could do
this very week! Ask yourself, “What does this look like tomorrow?” and fill in
some steps that you could take to make the principles real in your life.
Service Details — Circle or underline the type of service and then write the
date of the service in the blank.
Scripture Passage — Write the reference of the primary passage of the message.
Special Music — This is a special spot to write down the titles of any hymns or
songs sung during the service so you can reflect on and listen to them later.
Reference Material — Sometimes a speaker will mention a book title, article,
or website that you’d like to research more. Write those here for easy access.
Memorable Quotation — If a particular phrase or statement spoke to you, you
can write it here to keep it separated from your general notes.
