Ghazal Refalian is an architect and researcher with a master degree’s in the technology
of architecture who started her professional activities in 2005 and had collaborated
in various projects with a focus on computational design and design process,
Since 2013, she has focused on pattern art and the relations between digital
fabrication methods and pattern design in art and architecture which led her to
found Patternitecture platform, in order to facilitate research, design and
fabrication of pattern-based designs in built environments within curating biennial
events (exhibition and lecture series) in Tehran.
Ghazal joined Iaac (Institute for advanced architecture of Catalonia) in the same
year to participate in open thesis research program due to work on a robotic
design fabrication project in Barcelona and now is a PhD candidate in
universitat politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), where explores new fabrication
techniques of geometrical patterns.

divide in three phase which allow ongoing services of the main clinic. Design
process started with preparing main space for dental clinic. In this presentation
phase one is under contruction and phase two is on design process.
Design team decided to make a modern minimal space which provide tranquility
to clinic. Meanwhile, by establishing a soft pattern on the ceiling, bring the
ceiling to life and make a scene in front of the eyes of patients laying on the
units. This clinic is a mixture of soft waves, neutral colors and warmness of the
wood to meet the both client and user’s demands.
COMPETITIONS
To design Golshahr plaza, design team studied master plan to extract available
grids and networks. Green network, public space connections and access paths to
the site are three items, which projected on site plan and portrayed a geometrical
