crucial role in the lives of our students. These activities instill important values in our student athletes including discipline,

teamwork and integrity. They are also essential in keeping them engaged in school.

Many of the friendships they make while part of a team or sport will last a lifetime. Some

of their greatest school memories will come from homecoming, pep rallies, team building

activities or earning that big win.

Dear Reagan Nation,

It is an exciting time at Reagan and there is a buzz in the air. The much

anticipated 2020 football season is here and it’s time for the Rattlers to go to

work. The spring and summer was very unique as we prepared for this

season. The perseverance and dedication will come to fruition for our young

men and women that have trained tirelessly for the opportunities to compete.

We are looking forward to our new challenges in District 28-6A. Our Senior

class has laid the framework for a successful campaign in this year’s

district race for the title.

The Reagan community welcomes all our new members, and

we know they are going to bring a ton to the table. A special

thanks goes out to the families of our coaches and faculty

who contribute so much to the lives of our studentathletes.

The structure of the Reagan Athletic Program

is built on people. We have and always will win with

people. As a coaching staff, we are fortunate to help

mold so many students, work side-by-side with

administration, and form bonds with the families.

The football team wants to thank the student

body for their support and contagious spirit at the

games. We have the best student section in the

The Reagan Football experience would not be

what it is without our award-winning Band, Cheer

and Dance Programs. Thanks to all the Reagan

Rattlers that ride for the brand. You are a spark

behind our winning culture at RHS.

We want to thank the N.E.I.S.D. Administrative Staff for

embracing High School Athletics and allowing our studentathletes

to showcase their talents. A special thanks goes out

to Dr. Sean Maika and Coach Kelly Parker for allowing our

kids to train throughout the summer during an unprecedented

time. The Reagan coaching staff did an amazing job of

keeping our kids in a safe environment as we transitioned back.

The coaching staff reserves a special gratitude to Mrs. Shelton

and her staff for supporting Reagan Athletics and allowing our

program to enhance the educational process.

The 2020 journey has been launched and we will meet every

obstacle head on. The grind, sweat, and forged bonds have

created great team chemistry. It will be a fun ride to be a

part of and we look forward to having you on board.

The Offense, Defense and Kicking Game units are primed for

Coach Hamilton graduated from

Luling High School in 1994. Coach

played football and baseball all

four years for the Fighting Eagles,

under Coach David Hill. He

attended Texas A & M Kingsville

and majored in Kinesiology, with

a minor in Biology. Coach Hamilton

had the honor to play for Coach

Ron Harms and Richard Cundiff as

a Javelina.

Coach Hamilton started his coaching career at Rosenberg Terry

with Coach Tim Teykl and Allan Roberts. Coach Hamilton was

in the Houston area for six years before relocating to the San

Antonio area with his family. Coach Hamilton spent seven

years with Coach Neal LaHue at San Antonio Roosevelt prior

to his arrival at Reagan. Coach Hamilton is entering his eighth

season at Reagan and his fourth year as Head Coach. Coach

Hamilton was Coach David Wetzel’s defensive coordinator

before Coach Wetzel’s departure for Baylor University. Coach

Hamilton is forever grateful to all the men that have mentored

him and paved the way for his growth.

Coach Hamilton celebrated twenty-two years of marriage

this summer with his high school sweetheart, D’Laine. Mrs.

Hamilton teaches Kindergarten at Paschal Elementary and

has been in public education for thirteen years. The Hamilton’s

have two sons, Drew (19) and Bryce (16). Bryce plays football

and baseball for Reagan, and Drew is currently taking freshmen

college courses. Coach Hamilton cherishes his time on

the Guadalupe River and in the brush chasing anything that is

wild. He is an avid member of the Texas High School Coaches

Association and the American Football Coaches Association.

Coach Ham is an affiliate of the FCA and the GSAFCF. He has

coached in the San Antonio All Star game with the Reagan

staff and has had a blast with faculty and staff at Reagan

High. The past seven years at Reagan have been the highlight

of his career. The great young men and women at Reagan

have allowed him to experience lifelong memories, as Coach

Hamilton looks to build on those memories with the 2020

Reagan Rattler football team. The Hamilton family bleeds

green and loves to see the Rattlers Strike ‘em.

Coach McHugh graduated from

LaVernia High School in 1997

where she participated in cross

country, track, and cheerleading.

She attended the University of

Texas at San Antonio where she

earned a B. A. in English and later

earned a M. Ed. in Curriculum

and Instruction. Coach McHugh is

USA Track and Field Certified and

is a Professional Member of the

National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. Five

of her track athletes since 2014 have been awarded the NSCA

All-American Award.

Coach McHugh began her career in education at Theodore

Roosevelt High School in 2002—teaching English and

coaching girls track. Coach McHugh enjoyed eight years

at Roosevelt. In 2009 and 2010, her teams won the 25-6A

Girls Track District Titles and were Regional Runners-Up. She

coached 24 athletes to the 6A State Track Championship with

four state medalists and one team placing eighth.

In 2010, Coach McHugh made the move to Reagan High

School where she has coached cross country and girls track

and has taught English and physical education classes. At

Reagan she has coached 37 athletes to the 6A State Track

and Cross Country Championships, with three athletes earning

state medals. Coach McHugh’s cross country teams have won

nine 26-6A District Titles in a row, and her girls track team has

won four consecutive District Championships from 2016 to

2019. In 2019 Coach McHugh’s girls celebrated an undefeated

regular season in addition to back-to-back District, Area, and

Regional Championships. Before the spring season was cut

short in 2020, the Reagan girls were again leading Region IV

in Track and Field.

Coach McHugh has a genuine passion for her career, but

undoubtedly, what defines her most is her family and faith.

She has been married to her best friend, Troy, for 21 years and

adores her ten-year-old daughter, Gabriella. Gabby is a developing

pole vaulter and long jumper who loves running with

the track girls, traveling, and spending time with her cousins.

Coach McHugh’s favorite moments include family road trips,

days on the lake, and workouts with G. To have a family who

shares her passion for building athletes and teaching young

people about life through sports, is one of Coach McHugh’s

greatest blessings. She is beyond grateful to be a member of

the Reagan Nation and to serve the Rattler community.
