Year 6 have been investigating the circulatory system and have studied its structure and functions. They were tasked with imagining the journey of a blood cell through the different parts of the heart and body. They could be as imaginative and dramatic as they liked. They have brilliantly combined their creative writing skills with their scientific knowledge.
Chapter 7 – Theleft ventricle• The left ventricle is the mostimportant chamber in the Heart. All the strong blood cells livehere. The left ventricle pumpsthe oxygen-rich blood to the bodythrough a large network ofarteries. The contractions ofthe left ventricle, the strongest ofthe four chambers, are whatcreate blood pressure in the body.
CHAPTER 8 – Thebody DistributionNow it is my time to shine. The oxygendistribution is like a race. If you are slow, thecirculatory system collapses. I visit the arms, the legs, the toes and fingers, the brain andmuch more. I don't like the brain, he thinks heis to clever for everyone but I would like thebrain to see how long he could last without usblood cells. The body is like a fun maze butthere is nothing like 'Heart Sweet Heart' so I'llbe glad to go home.
