From sports and swimming to arts and teen leadership, your child 

will discover a summer of exploration, develop new friendships and 

learn new skills. You’ll find camps designed to engage all ages from 

your curious preschooler to your independent teen. 

BEFORE & AFTER 

CAMP TIME 

Have to get to work early or stuck at 

work and need the safety of a great 

environment? 

Extended time is available for your 

child at NO ADDITIONAL COST from 

7-9 am and 4-6 pm. The Y’s Before 

and After Camp Time provides a 

range of activities to keep your child 

safe, active and having fun. 

SWIMMING 

Campers enjoy a recreational swim 

period each day, weather permitting. 

Trained Y lifeguards conduct swim 

tests for all campers prior to 

swimming each Monday. Pathfinders, 

Trailblazers and Woodsy’s Pals also 

receive one swim lesson a day. The 

YMCA’s focus is on keeping all 

children safe. 

LUNCH BUNCH 

For children who need an extra hour 

between morning and afternoon camps. 

Lunch is NOT provided. Free for 

children enrolled in BOTH half day 

morning and afternoon sessions 

with NO registration required. 

Campers enrolled in only a morning or

EPACT: Once your child's registration 

is processed in our system, the Payer 

and Head of Household will receive an 

email from YMCA of Greater Brandywine 

via ePACT Network. This contains 

very important information on filling 

out your child's health history and 

emergency contacts. Please make sure 

this information has been completed and 

shared online so they can participate on 

the first day of the program. 

REGISTRATION POLICIES 

• A YMCA membership is not required to 

register for camp. However, those who 

maintain a YMCA membership at the 

time of registration through the end of a 

camp session receive the member rate. If 

the membership is not maintained during 

this period, the rate will be adjusted to 

the non-member rate. No changes to 

rates will be made if a YMCA membership 

has been started AFTER the camp 

registration has been processed. 

• Registration for each camp must 

be submitted by 10 pm the previous 

Wednesday. A late fee of $50 will be 

applied on registrations after that 

deadline and if space allows. 

• A camp deposit of $35 per child per week is 

due at the time of registration. Deposits are 

non-refundable and non-transferable and 

are subtracted from your weekly rate. 

Please note, the deposit cannot be 

transferred to another session. 

• The remaining balance will be processed 

two Sundays prior to the camp start date. 

Payments must be made through weekly 

automated drafts or in-full at the time of 

registration. You may pay earlier by 

contacting the branch to set up another 

payment. Camp payments are not able to 

be split between two or more payers. 

• No refunds are available within two weeks 

of the start of the session. 

• Families who receive Child Care Works (CCW) 

funding are required to pay a $10 per 

camper per week fee in addition to their 

weekly co-pay. In the event coverage 

is terminated by CCW, the family will be 

responsible for all care expenses incurred. 

• Families with two or more children signing 

up for the same week receive 10% off the 

lowest weekly fee (restrictions apply). If you 

register online, please complete the sibling 

discount form and we will apply the discount 

to your account. Discount is not able to be 

combined with financial assistance and/or 

staff discounts. 

• Those applying CCW funds must register in 

branch. Online registration is not available 

for those requests. 



The YMCA is the leading nonprofit

PICK UP ON TIME! 

The camp day ends at 6 pm at the 

YMCA. If you are going to be late 

picking up your child, please arrange 

to have an authorized pick-up 

person arrive by 6 pm or call the Y 

to inform staff. 

Campers who are repeatedly picked 

up late from extended camp time 

may lose access to the program and 

parents will be required to pick up 

their child(ren) at the end of the 

regular camp day.

Join us for a summer of crafts, games, swimming and nature exploration. Make new friends, learn

daily swim lesson and children enrolled in the Full Day option will receive both a swim lesson and a

August 2-6 and August 9-13: A Pirate’s Life: Prepare to set sail and raise the Jolly Roger as we 

take to the high seas in search of glory and hidden treasure. This swashbuckling adventure will cross 

paths with buccaneers, sea creatures, and the scurviest scallywags around.

choreography and technique as an amazing performance worthy of a world

Earth Service Corps is a national Y program for teens with a focus on 

environmental service-learning projects. Teens are engaged with hands-on 

projects that develop teamwork skills, while learning to use various tools to 

plan and execute team projects involving habitat restoration.

and canning vegetables, harvest eggs and help care for our goats, sheep

projects and group collaboration. From the lab to the creek, campers

Learn the basics of outdoor survival from the woods and creeks of Cassatt 

Preserve. Orienteering, animal tracking, shelter building and basic survival 

skills teach kids how to survive and thrive in the great outdoors.

Y BIRDING CAMP • Completed grades 3-7

Trek the trails, meander the meadow and paddle the pond in search of Cassatt 

Preserve's more than 130 different bird species. Our experienced birding staff 

will teach the basics of wild bird ID, behavior and habitat. Learn how to use 

binoculars, spotting scopes, field guides, apps and other tools for birding and 

wildlife observation. Explore the importance of ambassador raptors in education 

and learn about the care of UMLY's resident birds. 




TRACKS & TRAILS CAMP • Completed grades 1-5 

Weekly: June 14 – August 13

Hit the trails and canoes to explore all the Cassatt Preserve has to offer! From 

wetlands to woodlands, meadows, creeks and ponds, campers will engage in 

many different outdoor activities like games, hikes, canoeing, and exploration. 

With over 35 resident animals, children will have the opportunity to learn about 

and care for our many creatures.

WORKSHOP CAMP: 

BUILDING WITH WOOD (2 WEEKS) • Completed grades 4-7

Campers learn wooden building and construction techniques and how to 

use a variety of hand tools as they work on individual projects (which go 

home when complete) and a collaborative, large-scale group build (which 

stays). Individual projects will be chosen by campers based on interest 

from a range of available plans. The large group projects could include 

an 8'x10' storage shed or a modern outdoor playhouse. In the afternoon, 

campers will take a break from building for a rec swim.

This intense training session, geared toward experienced players and 

tournament level juniors, is an ideal way to stay sharp during the summer. 

Each day starts with cardio, agility, mobility and strength training and

Afternoons focus on match play and feature singles/doubles strategies. 

This is a tennis training only camp and does not include swimming or general 

camp activities. 




POWER HITTERS CAMP • Completed grades 5+ 


9AM-4PM 

This camp is designed to help players learn and improve their tennis ability 

through fun games and drills. Each day campers work with a coach on 

physical fitness, motor skills, good sportsmanship, and agility. Power Hitters 

enjoy a recreational swim period each day and will participate in other general 

camp activities. 




RACQUET ROOKIES CAMP • Completed grades K-4 


9AM-4PM 

Campers will work on basic tennis skills through upbeat drills and games. 

Players use low compression balls and size appropriate equipment in order to 

learn the game comfortably and at their own pace. No prior tennis experience 

is necessary and players will be introduced to Pickleball as well. A daily 

recreational swim is included.

reasons why the use of cell phones, cameras or other 

electronic devices during camp is prohibited. 

Such equipment, if present, will be asked to be put away or 

confiscated and returned at the end of the day. We want 

your children to get the most out of their time at camp.
