The historic city centre has a delightful array
of magnificent ancient buildings, stunning
architecture and excellent independent and
high street shopping facilities. Residents and
tourists can experience a broad selection
of leisure activities such as; an afternoon
punting on the River Cam, a night at one of
Cambridge’s many social and artistic venues,
or a sophisticated evening of fine dining at
the Michelin star restaurant, Midsummer
House. Travelling by foot, bicycle, bus or
car make many of the city’s main attractions
easily accessible and city living a pleasure.
Cambridge has a vibrant mix of retail
destinations and offers a range of designer
shops, boutiques and large high street
stores. The Grand Arcade houses big names
and popular high street shops and cafés
with a link to the existing Lion Yard shopping
centre, providing a further selection of
notable shops and restaurants. Alternatively,
the city hosts a wide range of goods, local
food and arts and crafts at the outdoor
market located in the Market Square. Rose
Crescent, Trinity Street, Magdalene Street,
Bridge Street and King Street are all perfect
routes for a leisurely stroll or to explore a
selection of quaint boutique shops and chic
eating stops.
The Grafton Centre, which is subject to
redevelopment, is only a ten minute walk
from the city centre and is serviced by
frequent local buses and Park and Ride bus
restaurants and entertainment including a
multi-screen Vue cinema and popular high
street names such as Debenhams, H&M and
