TOTAL E&P <strong>UK</strong> Limited is <strong>the</strong> fourth-largest operator <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong> sector of <strong>the</strong> North<br />
Sea, <strong>in</strong> terms of production and reserves and is one of <strong>the</strong> largest exploration and<br />
production (E&P) subsidiaries of <strong>the</strong> TOTAL Group. Based <strong>in</strong> Aberdeen, <strong>the</strong> company<br />
produced over 103 million barrels of oil equivalent from its operated assets, <strong>in</strong> 2006.<br />
This represents about 12 per cent of <strong>the</strong> TOTAL Group production and about 10 per<br />
cent of <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong>’s oil and gas production.<br />
Dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> 2005-2007 period, <strong>the</strong> company <strong>in</strong>vested <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong> nearly £1 billion on<br />

Glenelg and West Frankl<strong>in</strong>. Glenelg, which produced first oil <strong>in</strong> Spr<strong>in</strong>g 2006, is <strong>the</strong><br />

In <strong>the</strong> West of Shetland region, <strong>the</strong> Laggan gas discovery has been appraised and <strong>the</strong><br />
Tormore prospect was drilled <strong>in</strong> late 2007. The commercial feasibility of develop<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
area is be<strong>in</strong>g assessed and, as part of this process, TOTAL E&P <strong>UK</strong> is an active<br />
participant <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Government’s West of Shetland Task Force.<br />
TOTAL E&P <strong>UK</strong>’s non-operated <strong>in</strong>terests <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> central and nor<strong>the</strong>rn North Sea <strong>in</strong>clude<br />
Bruce, ETAP, Alba, Armada and Nelson Fields.<br />
The company operates <strong>the</strong> St Fergus Gas Term<strong>in</strong>al on <strong>the</strong> north east coast of<br />
Scotland, on behalf of TOTAL and Gassled, <strong>the</strong> owner of <strong>the</strong> Norwegian Vestlerled<br />
gas pipel<strong>in</strong>e, which term<strong>in</strong>ates at St Fergus. The Term<strong>in</strong>al receives and processes an<br />
average of 21 per cent of <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong>’s natural gas requirements from some 20 fields.<br />
TOTAL E&P <strong>UK</strong> has 100 per cent <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong> Frigg pipel<strong>in</strong>e, which also<br />
term<strong>in</strong>ates at St Fergus. The topsides of MCP-01, a manifold and compression<br />
platform formerly on <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong> Frigg pipel<strong>in</strong>e, have been decommissioned and <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
removal is <strong>the</strong> next stage of decommission<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
The <strong>Company</strong> has an <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sullom Voe Oil Term<strong>in</strong>al <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sheltand Islands.<br />

The Specialities division manufactures and sells lubricants, bitumen products and<br />
petroleum-based solvents <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> transport, build<strong>in</strong>g and manufactur<strong>in</strong>g sectors.<br />
We are also one of <strong>the</strong> country’s lead<strong>in</strong>g suppliers of aviation fuels, supply<strong>in</strong>g London’s<br />
Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports, as well as many smaller airfields around <strong>the</strong><br />
country.<br />

L<strong>in</strong>dsey Oil Ref<strong>in</strong>ery (LOR) is Brita<strong>in</strong>’s third largest ref<strong>in</strong>ery, with a capacity of up to 10<br />
million tonnes a year of which 90 per cent is North Sea crude. Now wholly owned by<br />
TOTAL, it began <strong>in</strong> 1966 as a jo<strong>in</strong>t <strong>in</strong>vestment by TOTAL and PetroF<strong>in</strong>a and consisted<br />
of two simple hydroskimm<strong>in</strong>g process tra<strong>in</strong>s. S<strong>in</strong>ce <strong>the</strong>n it has grown and developed<br />
<strong>in</strong>to one of <strong>the</strong> most complex and technologically advanced ref<strong>in</strong>eries <strong>in</strong> Europe. This<br />
enables it to process many different types of crude oil and respond quickly to changes<br />
<strong>in</strong> market demand.<br />
Extend<strong>in</strong>g over 500 acres on <strong>the</strong> south bank of <strong>the</strong> Humber Estuary, it employs some<br />
550 people directly, as well as over 250 contract staff.<br />
Products are distributed by sea, pipel<strong>in</strong>e, rail and road and are predom<strong>in</strong>antly<br />
marketed by TOTAL <strong>UK</strong>, of which LOR is a part. Under normal conditions, a third of<br />
production travels by sea and a third is taken by rail via LOR’s 13 miles of tracks and<br />
sid<strong>in</strong>gs - <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong>’s largest private rail complex. One sixth is exported by pipel<strong>in</strong>e and<br />
only one sixth travels by road.<br />

TOTAL Gas & Power is part of <strong>the</strong> trad<strong>in</strong>g, gas and electricity division of <strong>the</strong> TOTAL<br />
Group. TOTAL Gas & Power is one of <strong>the</strong> most significant gas, electricity and liquefied<br />
natural gas traders <strong>in</strong> Europe. The company markets gas and power both <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong> and<br />
on <strong>the</strong> USA and Cont<strong>in</strong>ental markets with offices <strong>in</strong> London and Houston. As part of its<br />

of long term LNG purchase agreements with various production companies such as<br />

Qatar <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong> via <strong>the</strong> South Hook term<strong>in</strong>al <strong>in</strong> which <strong>the</strong> <strong>Total</strong> Group has an <strong>in</strong>terest.<br />
In addition to its trad<strong>in</strong>g activities, TOTAL Gas & Power also holds a major position <strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> supply of gas and electricity to <strong>in</strong>dustrial, commercial and bus<strong>in</strong>ess customers.<br />
Through its retail arm, TOTAL Gas & Power supplies natural gas and electricity to<br />
50,000 <strong>in</strong>dustrial and commercial sites <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>UK</strong> rang<strong>in</strong>g from <strong>the</strong> small to medium<br />
