I Am Tired!
I currently feel so tired, but luckily I
know the cause of my fatigue and I know
it is only temporary. My faithful companion
since 2006, the black-furred Bobby,
is now very old, we do not know exactly
how old, but roughly 17 years. He always
sleeps in his basket I my bedroom. In his
old age I have to bring him outside 2 – 3
times a night. He is so demented, that
I have to keep him on a leash when he
goes into the garden, or else he cannot
find his way back in. I do not think he is
in pain, but he walks around aimlessly in
the night and dances in his water bowl,
because he cannot see. Then I have to
put him in his bed. There I massage him
and put a small blanket around him so
he can calm down. During the day, the
previously cleanly dog often pees around
the house in small puddles. I cannot just
let him out into the garden, since he cannot
find his way back inside again and
sometimes end up in the pool, which he
cannot get out of.
However, when I walk into the kitchen,
he is marvelously always right
next to me. His sense of smell and love
of food is still intact.
I happily look after him and I am grateful
for all the years he brought me so
much joy. I fondly remember the love
and delight we had on our long walks
together, when we were both young
and agile, and the joy he experienced
when the family came to visit, even his
patience when small kids sometimes
were a bit heavy-handed. I remember
www.annisvitalshop.com
the smiles he brought to many of the
customers, when they were shopping in
the store and he laid in his basket and
enjoyed the endearment from children
and adults.
I will gladly look after him until the
day comes where he has to go to his
other home. I deal with the tiredness
the best I can, through quality supplements,
small powernaps, and a healthy
diet, at least to the best of my capabilities.
All humans are tired from time to
time. Now spring is starting to show its
light and many people are starting to
talk about the yearly spring fatigue.
Tiredness exists in many forms. It
ranges from the most common form,

where the tiredness is caused by a lack
of care for yourself, for whatever reason.
It can also be caused by a vitamin
or mineral deficiency. Fatigue can also
be caused by many diseases, such as
arthritis, Parkinson, different types of
cancer, circulatory diseases, intestinal
diseases, etc. Tiredness can seem disabling,
and if the fatigue is caused by
a disease, then the root cause must be
treated.
Lacking Sleep
Sleep has a rejuvenating effect on the
brain and the entire nervous system.
Sleep’s influence on our health is well
documented.
Make sure you have an early bedtime.
Most people function optimally with 8
hours of sleep, where the hours before
midnight are the most important.
We all have a need to be part of the
social life once in the while, but everything
should be in moderation, and
make sure you exercise your self-discipline
both when it comes to food and
drinks, also when you are out to have a
good time. It is never pleasant to wake
up with a handover and it is not good
for your liver and brain either.
• Melatonin is the most important
antioxidant your body produces.
It holds importance for your hormone
levels, your energy, and joy
of life. To ensure you produce sufficient
melatonin, it is important
that you sleep in complete darkness
and experience sunlight during
the day. The balance between
light and dark is important for a
sufficient production of melatonin.
Melatonin is luckily also available
as a supplement in liquid or capsule
form.
• Vitamin-B is something many people
lack. It should be taken in the
morning.
• Vitamin-D can also be a great help.
• When it comes to minerals, then a
supplement of magnesium, calcium,
and silicon might do you good.
• Products containing hops and
valerian can be great supporters
and should, just like melatonin,
be taken in the evening.
Stress
Stress saps your energy. Too many people
are running in the highest gear all day,
every single day of the week. It takes a toll
on the body and can results in different
afflictions. If you are stressed, then stop
and force yourself to take some breaks,
so your body and brain can recharge.
There exists some good aids, which
can help you manage your stress.
• A complex of B-vitamins can be a
great help.
• D-vitamins has also been shown to
help with stress.
• Omega-3 oils can function as a stress
inhibitor.
• Likewise, can the minerals potassium,
calcium, magnesium, and zinc
help.
• Ashwagandha is a must have if you
feel stressed. Ashwagandha is an
ayurvedic herb that belongs to the
nightshade family.
• I personally use a product that I
find helps me exceptionally, in these
tiresome and trying times, which
is also accompanied by stress. The
product consists of Siberian ginseng
for increased mental and physical
performance, Astragalus that aids
my immune system and lessens
fatigue and exhaustion, and rose
root, which minimizes my stress
and functions as a pick-me-up both
mentally and physically.
Worries
Too many people keep worrying as an
essential part of their day. I am personally
also very good at worrying, but the
years have taught me to put some of
my worries behind me and get better
at enjoying the many wonders of daily
life. Worrying sucks all the power, joy,
and energy out of you, if you belong to
the worrying type. Remember that most
worries never become real!!! It could
perhaps be a good idea to get help from
a therapist, if you find it too difficult to
handle yourself.
Many worries revolve around whether
you are good enough. Can you handle
the job and are you good enough to
keep it. Are you sufficient as a family
dad/mom. Learn to relax, no is perfect.
We are all students at the school of life.
Be good to yourself. Look at yourself in
the mirror and tell yourself “I love you”.
It can be a difficult exercise, but once
you have done it enough, then you start
to feel the love and tolerance you have
for yourself and can be contributing
factor in bettering your days.
Dietary supplements can help, I will
recommend taking magnesium in the
evening. It can be particularly helpful if
your worries have a tendency to pop up
when you are going to bed. If you wake
up in the middle of the night and feel
your worries sneaking into your mind
and keeping you from sleep, then it
might be a good idea to take a strong
supplement of pantothenic acid.
It might be a good idea with
a relaxing herbal tea, just like products
containing lemon balm can
help resolve some of your worries.
The Diet
The diet is the fuel that has to get you
through the day. Make sure that you
have healthy dietary habits. Avoid sugary
foods, as well as white bread and pasta.
Stay away from cola and other energy
drinks as well as too much coffee. The
abovementioned will provide a lot of fast

energy, but you will quickly become
tired again. Enjoy a single glass of wine
but be careful with too much alcohol.
Too many of us do not drink sufficient
water throughout the day. Make
sure that you drink roughly 1 ½ liters
of water. Coffee and juice are not
included.
Many people do not eat breakfast. I
have been an educator for travel guides
and at least half of them skipped
breakfast. You should eat plenty in
the morning. The body has to be filled
with energy in the morning, else
you will easily get tired and lethargic
throughout the day.
If you feel hungry outside of your
designated mealtimes, then eat an
apple, a piece crispbread, or a slice of
rye bread with a sensible topping.
I feel immense joy by starting my
day with a glass of lukewarm water
with lemon juice. It helps expel waste
material, and then I get some water,
which I often forget.
Exercise
Bobby cannot go on long walks anymore.
He keeps walking in circles and
cannot orient himself. Luckily, my
other dog Pixie is very persistent and
makes sure that I get on my daily
morning walks. Sometimes there is
even time for a bit of play on the beach.
I currently do not have excess energy
for other type of exercise, so it has to be
sufficient that I get out in the fresh air. If
you are suffering from extreme fatigue,
then it is important to maintain the
discipline to go on a daily walk, where
you can fill your lungs with fresh air.
You have to ensure that you get at least
half an hours’ exercise daily, where you
can breathe into your stomach and feel
the blood rushing through your veins.
On the 12th of February are we
entering the Chinese New Year. This
year is called the year of the metal
ox and is described as having focus
on the lungs, for better or for worse.
Make sure you take care of them,
which preferably can be done with a
walk in the fresh air.
Remember to take a versatile vitamin/mineral
product, as well as a
supplement of omega-3 oil, so you
are ready to face spring on the best
possible terms.
By Sami Christian Lindberg
The other day when Anni asked if I
could write about some topic to the
news letter, I of course immediately
got plenty things in my mind, but then
I thought actually that I would love to
write about few words of some herbal
products that I’ve learn to use while
studying Ayurveda. Ayurveda is ancient
healing art dated back to almost 5000
years and mostly practiced in India, it
has amazing accuracy still today and
it’s based on natural principles, it has
been absolutely eye opening for my
well being and understanding of health
and finding more balance in my life.
My absolute favorite herb is Bacoba
monnieri also called Bhrami, it is an
brain tonic and helps with anxiety, concentration
and memory, it helps to
retain information, I found it very useful
while studying and also during
these special circumstances. It takes a
little while before it really kicks in, but
in few weeks I felt less nervousness and
on long term it really has helped me to
focus and gives such a calm and good
concentration. I think the best Bacoba
product is Keen Mind from Floridis. It
has also liver protecting property and
good for the gut and that is no wonder,
as they say stomach is our second brain.
It is best to take it in the morning with
the breakfast. It is not a quick fix, so
it requires patience and long term use
before you are able really feel the benefits.
It is also known to help children
who are overactive. Another herbal product
that has really made me fall in
love with, is Berberis Aristata also called
Daruharidra ( tree turmeric) it has
similarities with turmeric, it is strong
yellow and very bitter remedy, very
good for liver function and lowering
cholesterol, it has strong anti inflammatory
effect and well researched with
diabetes and blood sugar issues. It is
also very good for the skin. It has really
helped me with my sensitive blood
sugar and I feel it is more stable throughout
the day and since it has helped
me with my liver function I feel more
energetic than before. I chose Finnish
Dr Tolonen Berberin product for it is
purity and the daily dose is 1500mg
in a day and I take it before every meal
and I don’t feel blood sugar spikes and
tiredness after the meal anymore. Such
a excellent product that is must have
if you’re pre diabetic or have diabetes,
www.annisvitalshop.com
inflammation or liver problems. The
winter time in Ayurveda is considered
as a Kapha time, Kapha literally means
phlegm, Kapha is water and earth element
and it is heavy, cold and slimy,
also the time of the year with viral
infections, lethargy and tiredness. Such
a good remedy with anti viral effect and
mucus pulsing properties is Licorice
root powder also called Yashtimadhu.
I like to mix it with hot water and it has
nice and sweet taste so it is enjoyable
as well. It is very good for acidity in
the stomach and mildly laxative. it has
antimicrobial, antioxidant and antiinflammatory
effects and it’s eases the
upper respiratory infections. It is also
used to treat ulcers. It can be found in
tea bags from Pukka brand, or as herb
from Naturdrogeriet or which I prefere
as a powder from Urtekram company,
it is easy to use and inexpensive with
such a great benefits for this heavy, slow
and sluggish time of the year. Well, I
could go on and on, there is so many
wonderful natural herbs that has been
well documented and researched with
amazing health benefits, but I promised
to Anni to keep it short. I wish
strength and strong immunity for all
who is reading this, keep eating healthy
and keep moving, there is so much we
can do to better our quality of life and
enjoying our journey through different
seasons and facing their challenges!
With love Sami
