THE QUEEN
EVERYONE
NEEDS TO
KNOW
“PRETTY ONE IS THE SONIC
BADGE OF SELF LOVE,” SAID
MILA JAM. “THE ATMOSPHERE
OF ELEVATION, EVOLUTION
AND SELF ACCEPTANCE. WE
ARE ALL PRETTY ONES.”
Mila Jam’s EP, Pretty
One, is an anthem we all
need to be belting from
rooftops. It consists of the
words we wished we’d
told our younger selves,
and that’s exactly what
Mila wanted when the EP
came together. Mila was
able to create the songs
that we didn’t even know
we needed to hear. Pretty
One is the epitome of an
‘80’s synth pop EP, with
catchy hooks, soaring
vocals, plenty of Phil
Collins inspired drums and
beautiful synths. The song
was inspired by self-love
and empowerment that
Mila hopes everyone can
find, including herself.
Mila, a NYC pop recording
artivist, is known
around the world for
her unforgettable stage
performances and one-ofa-kind
music videos. I had
the privilege of getting
to know Mila better and
find out more about the
creation of her EP, virtually.

INTERVIEW
DL: Thank
you for taking
the time to
answer some
questions.
I know the
past year has
been difficult
for the entire
world. How
have you been
able to use
social media
to connect to
fans and others
in the music
industry?
MJ: We’ve had
nothing but
time on our
hands. Social
media has
undoubtedly
led us all
through this
pandemic. I’ve
been enjoying
streaming
concerts, panel discussions
and jam sessions from TikTok
to Twitch. To keep up with my
fans, I’ve been doing living room
fashion shows and woke talks with
fellow influencers and teasing
new music.
DL: I can only imagine that it
was extremely difficult to make
an album and performative
video during these times.
How was it making your EP
Pretty One virtually with
producer Rob Agostini and
writer Nick Larsson Billett?
What adjustments did you and
your team need to create your
performance video?
MJ: My team is currently spread
out across the globe, from
Australia to New York. These
time differences are not fun. It’s
just been a passionate tennis
match of ideas and sounds to
accompany my songs. I brought
on two powerhouse creators
to spearhead production of my
visuals: Director Frank Boccia and
Broadway choreographer Paul
McGill. We put in almost two
months of pre-production work to
bring this video to life.
It’s very special because we
managed to execute everything
we envisioned, all while
following COVID safe protocol.
DL: Can you tell us a little bit
about your creative process
and how you developed
your stunning and reflective
collection for your EP?
MJ: I like to write from the heart.
Whatever has been weighing
on me. The songs for this EP
were never really written to be
released. We worked on them
and then put them away for
quite some time. We revisited
them with new glasses and they
just made sense. I imagined
we’d all spent a lot of time in
our rooms, cooped up. The
songs are what you listen to
lying in bed at night. They’re
each like mantras that I would
say to myself and we put them
down to some beats. Rob
Agostini brought the texture and
atmosphere that I love so much.
“Pretty One” is one of the most
powerful songs I’ve ever written.
The simplicity in the strength
of the message: affirming our
pretty oneness. It makes me cry
every time I listen to it.
DL: What is one message you
want to give to your fans?
MJ: The pretty comes from
inside.
DL: I know we are all missing
live music and shows and
hopefully we will be able to
enjoy them again soon. What
has been one of your favorite
shows to either attend or
perform?
MJ: I miss performing in
Broadway Bares and touring in
music festivals.
DL: I know you just released
your EP album and dropped a
TEDx Talk back in December,
but can you give us a hint of
what comes next?
MJ: I’m currently
promoting a
legendary new
dance single
produced by
Anthony Preston
and Andre Lindal
titled “Fierce”, with
my sisters Ultra Natè
and Angelica Ross.
You’ve also seen
me pop up in a new
Cadillac commercial-
-and more music is
on the way.

ZĀNA GETS TO “KNOW YOU”
The NYC artist releases a followup to “Sweet Tooth”
Zāna’s “Know You” is a dark and
mysterious song about admiring
someone from afar. “I think many of us
have experienced the feeling of being
intrigued by a special stranger and
longing to know more about them,”
the young pop singer explains. “We
build images of who they are in our
heads based on the little clues we see,
and sometimes we wonder when or if
our paths might cross, and if they do,
will sparks fly?”
The track is the second single off her
This Is Autumn EP. It’s available on
Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and
all major streaming platforms, and its
video is on YouTube.
“I often think about how we’re
each the lead character in our own
movie,” Zāna continues from her NYC
apartment. “And how the people we
pass on the street every day who play
supporting roles in our movie are the
lead characters in their own.” The idea
of individual movies is reflected in the
music video for “Know You”, with Zāna
standing in front of a screen that’s
projecting a montage of resplendent
images, interspersed with clips of an
alluring man, played by Zāna’s real life
boyfriend (who was also featured in
animation form in her “Sweet Tooth”
video!). In the “Know You” music
video’s storyline, Zāna yearns to know
the man, but he remains a shadow to
her. He’s there, but not fully.
Says Zāna, “The moral of the
story is to have courage. Be
brave. Don’t wait for things to
happen, hoping that one day
everything will fall into place.
Say what you need to say.
Make life happen.”
Zāna has certainly done
just that. She grew up in
Oakland, and after high
school, attended Berklee
College of Music, where she
further developed her “gypsypop”
style--a sophisticated,
feelgood, soulful sound
influenced by her Lebanese
and Serbo-Croatian roots. Her
songs explore topics from
romance and body positivity
to depression, anxiety, and
insomnia. “I want listeners
to know that they’re not
alone in their hopes, fears
and confusion,” she explains.
“I have learned that there is
strength in being vulnerable. I
dare to bare those feelings in
my music.”

ULTIMATE FIGHTER
DALLAS
Dallas Preston grew up on the
Jersey Shore and still calls the
Garden State his home. Earlier
this winter, a little text changed
his life forever. The next thing
the 21-year-old knew, he was on
a flight bound for Las Vegas to
meet with the casting team at
Helix Studios. This spring, Dallas
makes his adult film debut in
Helix Academy Wrestling, the
next chapter in their popular
Helix Academy series.
In the new season, Helix’s
leading man, Josh Brady, stars
as captain of the Helix Academy
wrestling team. He is pushing the
team to keep their heads in the
game, but the guys are finding
it hard with so many… um…
distractions. Studio favorites
Travis Stevens and Seth Peterson
also star, alongside a bevy of
other Helix hotties. Newcomer
Dallas spoke to us from his
Jersey home.
The Jersey Boy Goes for the Takedown
in His Adult Film Debut
PRESTON
INTERVIEW
Hi, Dallas. Did you imagine
you’d be wearing tights in your
first adult film?
Dallas Preston: No, I didn’t! But I
think it’s an amazing way to start
an adult film career.
How did a nice Jersey boy like
you find your way to Helix?
DP: I applied on the website and
not too long after, I got a text
inviting me to an audition.
Has it been fun getting to know
the other Helix guys?
DP: It’s been really great with
the other guys. Everyone gets
along so well. I love being able to
talk and connect with other guys
pursuing careers in the industry.
How did you learn you had
been cast in Helix Academy
Wrestling?
DP: The director texted me that
the studio was doing something
really big and that they wanted
me to be a part of it. He didn’t
tell me what the film was exactly,
just that there was wrestling
involved.
Were you an athlete in high
school?
DP: I was a partier in high school,
but I always managed to keep my
grades up.
Did you win Best Eyes? You
should have!
DP: No, I didn’t, but thank you so
much!
In Helix Academy Wrestling, you
get paired with Jacob Hansen
and Kane Fox.
Who would win in a real
wrestling match?
DP: In a real match, I would beat
both of them. I might be little, but
I can pack a punch.
Did you have a say in who you
were teamed up with in the
film?
DP: No, it was all in the script.
We didn’t have a say.
What did you remember most
about your experience with
Jacob?
DP: What I remember most about
Jacob was how kind he was. It
was my first scene experience.
He made it so great and I’m
incredibly thankful.
What did you remember most
about your experience with
Kane?
DP: How he and his boyfriend
were arguing.
Spill the tea!
DP: (Laughing) I have no idea
what they were so upset about,
just that it created drama on the
set.
What would you like fans to know
about you?
DP: I would like fans to know that
I’m sweet and I’m always up for
having a little fun. And if you want
to send me presents, my birthday is
on the Fourth of July.
That means you’re a Yankee
Doodle Dandy!
DP: I am!
What’s something fans would
never guess about you?
DP: I know the alphabet in sign
language.
What’s the craziest thing left to
do on your bucket list?
DP: I don’t know if it would be
considered crazy, but I’m dying
to go to Brazil so I can meet the
people and explore the country,
especially Rio de Janeiro.
Who is the most important
person in your life right now?
DP: My mom is my best friend.
You’re a momma’s boy, too?
DP: I love all my family. They’re
so important to me. I can’t
thank them enough for being
there with me every step of the
way. Even with my new career,
they still love me the same as
they always have.
Where do you see yourself in
five years?
DP: I see myself still shooting
videos, owning a property, and
continuing to love life as much
as I do now.
